  1. Exactly the same thing happened to me a few years ago.  I was summoned for speeding on the A127 when it should have been the A12.

I went into court and the charge was read.  The police officer was already in the witness box and he told the CPS solicitor there was a problem and he told the court.  The clerk then re-read the offence with the correct roads.  I simply said "with respect, that isn't the charge I was summoned here to face."  The clerk looked at the bench who looked at each other.  The CPS solicitor then stood and said "the summons is faulty and is withdrawn."

    And that was it.

  2. I couldn't take the frustration, and I'm still capable of causing them problems if its needed.  I just love the fact that I can be talking to someone in less than 10 minutes, usually less than 5, when I call Starling.

Lifes too short to put up with the crap that Halifax are pulling at the moment and I make no apologies for taking the easy way.

  3. I wonder if anyone could offer advice or suggestions about a situation I've been sort of dragged into and, because of the current pandemic, I can't think of a solution.

I was sent a cheque in the sum of £250.00 by Plusnet, drawn on their bank, Barclays.

I used my Halifax app. to pay that into my account on 8th April.

On 9th April an entry, "unpaid cheque" appeared on my online statement and the balance on my account was reduced accordingly.

I tried to call Halifax many, many times over the following 7 days and was never able to speak with them.

Their recorded message simply said, "we are unable to speak with you at this time. Goodbye".

I was so incenced that I decided to leave them and started the Switch process to move to Starling Bank.

This move has gone very smoothly and is now complete.

I did continue to attempt to contact Halifax over the subsequent 7 days and I would estimate that I called over 60 times, to no avail.

I then tried to pay the cheque into Starling Bank but it was reported that it had already been paid.

I therefore contacted Plusnet and they confirmed, in writing, that the monies had been removed from their Barclays account on April 9th.

I therefore have no idea where my money is, and cannot contact Halifax, or at least they won't answer my calls.

Are there any other actions I could/should be taking to get tothe bottom of this?

  4. I presume it was, but at the time I was also going through a messy divorce, so I don't know for sure.

I also don't know how I can check.

There's certainly nothing on my current credit record.

They actually say in their letter, "The details of the judgement have been entered on the Register of County Court Judgements. It will stay on the Register of Orders and Fines for 6 years."

Perhaps I'm reading too much into that sentence and it has been and gone.

They then say that if I do not contact them within 7 days, their client, who is Cabot, has instructed them to commence enforcement action.

  5. I had a problem a few years ago and was paying a small amount of money to the above for a debt following a CCJ in 2007.

I was forced to retire following a motorcycle accident and I receive only the state pension.

I sold my house in the South East about 3 years ago and moved to Derbyshire where I am from originally.

I've been waiting to be contacted by the above and I received a letter today.

They are threatening to enter the 2007 judgement on the Register of County Court Judgements.

Can they do this after all this time?

What other steps should I take?

The debt is not statute barred as I was paying towards it until July 2016.

    All help gratefully received.

  6. I'll check and let you know.  Thanks dx100uk.

    I never received an agreement.

I received a letter which calls the loan a "Buy Now Pay Later" loan.

This also gives instructions on how to download a copy of the agreement but when I tried to do that I received an error message.

I'll have to wait until Monday to contact Ikano and take this further.

  7. Last November I had an air source heat pump fitted by a company called Heart from Doncaster.

They quoted, I accepted and they did a good job on the installation.

As part of their package I was offered an opportunity to delay payment by one year for a fixed sum of £49.00.

This seemed like a good deal as the total amount of the job, including all new radiators, lots of new pipework, new tanks, etc., etc. was £14,650.00.

As I qualified for renewable fuel payments of £10,500 over 7 years, I was quite happy for my old back boiler to be removed and the new kit fitted.

This deal was with Ikano Bank.

There was, at the time of installation, a shortage of Mitsubishi remote controllers.

I have verified this with Mitsubishi.

They actually arrived in the UK at the end of January and since then I have been chasing Heart to supply one.

I called today to be told by a recorded message that the number was not recognised and further investigation reveals that the company has gone into liquidation.

The part in question is about £200 and also needs professional fitting to link it both to my network and to the main controller.

Are Ikano in any way responsible for this?

Do I have any comeback at all?

All suggestions will be gratefully received.

Please let me know if you need further details.
