  1. Thanks nackers! The whole process was started 28th June, but they severely dragged their feet in getting my statements to me, then there was a huge delay while some charges on the statements had to be clarified. So, it was 31st august until i had actually calculated my losses and sent my first letter asking for them back. LBA sent 11th sep. So, once they recieved my official comlaint the process only took 6 weeks or so. Hope this was some help, good luck with your claim. James
  2. You didn't help but many thanks for the congrats. I loved the shakespeare quote - very apt!
  3. Today is a good day. After only 5 days from Alliance & Leicester acknowledging my claim on moneyclaim, I have recieved payment in full for £1,559. My smile is permanent today! It's an amazing feeling knowing you've taken on a large corporation like a&l AND WON!!! A message to anyone in the middle of a claim - keep strong, don't take no for an answer and keep the image of the magic day when the cheque lands on your doorstep firmly in your mind - THAT DAY WILL COME!!!
  4. They certainly intonated they will, but i think i'll tell them before they tell me...! Godd luck with your claim.

  6. Tadamus, It baffled me for ages! I opened a current account with a&l in mar 02. After the usual hassle of getting a&l to send me my statements from the last 4 years or so, i finally received them and was confused to see no unauthorised charges before sep 04. However, there were excessive charges of £25 marked on the statement as 'Monthly O/D Charge'. At first i obviously wondered how this could be as we all know the monthly charge for having an o/d facility is £5. On further inspection i noticed that some months i was charged £25, some months £5. I went to extreme lengths to get this anomily explained by a&l, to very little avail. For 4 weeks no one in the company could explain why these charges weren't marked as unauthorised, but on further investigation it was evident that the months where i was charged £25 correlated to previous months when i went over my o/d limit... ...which was fine because it meant i could add them to the obvious charges applied post sep 04! Hope that makes sense. Might be worth double checking your statements before sep 04. James
  7. When anyone checks their a&l statements be aware the charges changed approx sep 04 from flat £25 to an intial £25 to be followed by a further £25 3 days later. Be aware that an excess charge pre 04 appears as 'Monthly O/D Charge' on statements. My 1st letter to them got posted on the 31st August, i'll keep you all posted... James
