  1. I haven't sent the letter as yet. The accounts were for different creditors. It seems they have only recently packaged them into 1 new reference number. When I paid the 2 settled accounts they were under their own account numbers, the SAR shows 6 different account numbers. I didn't include the 2 settled accounts within the SB letters. MMF response was saying the 1 overall reference number couldn't be SB as I had paid some of it in 2016. When I paid the settled accounts in 2016 this new overall account number didn't even exist!
  2. Update. I posted out the SB letters last week (recorded) and I also emailed them copies as well. They have responded today saying that the debts are not statute barred as a payment was made on the account in October 2016. In total I had 6 accounts with MMF all under different account numbers, 2 of them are settled, the SAR shows this however it seems as though they have tried to 'wrap up' the 6 accounts under 1 reference number and they are saying that this 1 combined account isn't statute barred. Surely they cannot combine multiple accounts into 1?! I have written a letter stating that the accounts should be listed individually and they should notice that I sent them individual letters for each account number.
  3. I have thought about however I've not explored it at all. MMF caught me at a time when I had a mortgage offer, exchanged contracts on a new build and I awaiting completion date, I didn't want to run the risk so I paid them, in hindsight I should of looked deeper into it.
  4. Well without going into why I got into difficulty in 2011/12, I ended up with various debts for which I did pay back in full including 2 to Motormile, these were included within the SAR. I wasn't actually aware of the ones listed above until recently, I wasn't being chased, the letters they sent for 2 of the accounts above we're sent to a very old address the other 2 they haven't chased.. On the 27th September this year Lantern sent me a chase via email with 1 reference number which covers those 4 accounts, I then sent the SAR and we're now here.
  5. Apologies, those dates are taken from the SAR pack from Lantern. With regards to the payments, I put down 'Payments made/acknowledged - NO' I haven't made any payments or acknowledged any of them, they don't have anything in the SAR that confirms otherwise either. I've attached a snapshot of the SAR form. Thanks
  6. Good Afternoon, I sent a SAR to Lantern (Formally Motormile) on the 28/09/2018 and I have today received the SAR pack back. I'm looking for some advice on what to do next as I feel all these accounts could be statute barred. I would like to give an overview of each account and what the SAR contains to see if anyone can offer some advice on what my next step should be. Account 1 Value £1170 Account Start Date- 15.06.2012 Default Date- 29.06.2012 Payments made/acknowledged - NO Contains CCA - YES Notice of Assignment- NO Account 2 Value £200 Account Start Date- 30.11.2011 Default Date- Unknown Payments made/acknowledged - NO Contains; CCA - YES Notice of Assignment- NO Chase Letters - 2 Account 3 Value £270.10 Account Start Date- 21.06.2012 Default Date- Unknown Payments made/acknowledged - NO Contains; CCA – YES (Not signed by original creditor) Notice of Assignment- NO Chase Letters - 5 Account 4 Value £250.00 Account Start Date- 02.09.2011 Default Date- 07.12.2011 Payments made/acknowledged - NO Contains; CCA – NO Notice of Assignment- NO Chase Letters – NO Statement of Account - YES Other than 2011/2012 I’ve had no other issues and everything has now dropped off my credit files, I’d just like to put this to bed. I would be grateful of any help you may be able to give. Thanks
  7. I have been chased by PRA UK for an old pay day loan debt that was taken out in 2011. I sent them a request for the credit agreement, Statement of account, notice of default and also the notice of assignment. They have sent everything except the notice of assignment and seem to be stalling on it. Where do i stand if they cannot produce it and what would my next move be? Thanks
  8. Update. This default was removed by EE. I emailed Olaf directly and within 2 days it was gone. I have had 2 other successes of getting defaults removed by going to the top.
  9. There was a default placed on my credit file by BT for an old account which was legitimately closed down in August 2014. I sent an email directly to Libby Barr of BT Consumer and the complaint was sent to BT's Executive Level team later that day. BT confirmed straight away that it shouldn't of been there and the account was not closed down correctly on their part and it left an outstanding balance which then defaulted. They also confirmed that there was not any correspondence sent out. BT have sent me an email confirming that the default is going to be removed. Recently we were declined for a mortgage due to this default being registered within 2 years which is a stipulation of the lenders criteria. It wasn't picked up on the decision in principle as they used Experian for the DIP however it was picked up on Equifax for the full application. This has set us back a number of weeks and there is a chance the seller could walk away not to mention the stress it has caused. I'm just after some advice with regards to compensation, do you think I'd have a chance of being offered some and how would you play it? Thanks
  10. Did teh deafult get removed from your credit file or did it stay with a balance of £0?
  11. We've just emailed Olaf. Ive explained that she is not willing to talk about this complaint over the telephone, email or post only. Is this a common occurrence then?
  12. Please could someone offer help on this? My wife has just obtained a copy of her credit report and there is a default on there for £111 from Orange/EE from 2013. At this time she had a contract with Orange which then went to EE. In October 2013 she was offered an upgrade by EE which she accepted. In 2015 she upgraded again with EE. She still has the same account number as the orange account and is still with them. We don't why this default is on there as EE processed the upgrade from Orange and they have never mentioned anything since and they even upgraded her again in 2015! I would of thought they wouldn't have accepted her upgrade if she still owed them money. Is there a EE rep on here to get this sorted somehow?
  13. Hi apologies for jumping on an old thread however you may be able to help me. I received the write off email in Feb 2015. My account had been sold to PRA. I checked recently and the Wonga default is still registered s1 year later so is another from PRA for the same account! I have written to both companies to sort that however what i would like to know is this -Did Wonga remove your default entirely or did they just place it in a satisfied status with a zero balance? Thanks
  14. So i have an update regarding the Wonga & PRA defaults. Last night i sent an email to Experian asking them to raise a dispute for these defaults as i believed they are for for same Wonga account. Today i had a response. Thank you for your contact received on 23 February 2016 *Wonga Com(Account started 31/08/2011) *PRA Group (UK) Ltd(Account started 11/04/2011) The entry recorded by Wonga Com shows the name of the company that the debt was originally owed to. The second entry recorded by PRA Group (UK) Ltd shows that the debt has now been sold to another ompany to collect. Although the debt is now being recorded twice, only the entry recorded by the debt collection agency will have an effect on your credit rating. Both entries will be retained on your credit report for six years from the default date. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Following receipt of this email i rang Experian to ask them if they 100% sure they were the same account and they confirmed they were. They raised a dispute their end. Me being quite an impatient bugger i decided to ring (i recorded it) Wonga. They confirmed that my account should of been updated due to the buy back. They asked to email them a screenshot of the unsatisfied default from my credit report. I will do this tonight. Again being impatient i decided to call PRA UK again i recorded the call. PRA UK have absolutely no record of me whatsoever! Not for the conga debt or anything else! They have asked me to send a screen shot of the default record. What should i do next other than the screen shots? Is there a template available to order them to remove an incorrect entry i can send along with the screen shot?
  15. Good Afternoon. I have access to all 3 of the credit reference agency's i notice there is a default registered for £65 by Vodafone. I have never received any notices for this account and as far i was concerned this account was closed. If i knew about the outstanding balance i would of paid it to avoid a default especially as the value is very low. A bit of a long shot but would it be feasible to pay the outstanding balance of £65.00 and have the default removed? Thanks
  16. I’ve made a couple of posts on here and the responses have been very helpful. After reading through this fantastic forum I have decided to outline each of my defaulted accounts in detail and I would appreciate if someone could give me advice on what to do next. As you will see the majority of the accounts are over 4 years old so ant action I take I could do without the risk of court litigation arising from this action (if possible). Just to note that I have no previous experience of challenging DCA’s or Creditors nor have I had any experience of the court process (until recently –explained below) So here goes. Cabot Financial (UK) Ltd (Credit Card Account) Account Started: 25-10-2010 Default Date:20-01-2012 Default Balance: £306.00 Balance: £304.00 This was a Cap One CC. I haven’t made contact with Cabot as yet. I do have a CCA & Default notice request letter prepared. Lloyds Bank Account Started: 20/04/2012 Default Date:21/21/2012 Default Balance: £30.00 Balance: £0 I had a 2nd Current account which went over limit. I would have cleared this being a very small amount prior to the default being placed but I didn’t see the default notice. Vodafone Account Started: 02/12/2011 Default Date:01/05/2012 Default Balance: £65 Balance: £65.00 What to do with this please? Lowell Portfolio 1 (Communications Account) Account Started: 19/07/2010 Default Date:31/08/2012 Default Balance: £151.00 Balance: £0 Now approximately 2 weeks I received a letter from Northampton County Court which was a notice of pending court action. When I received this letter I panicked, I rang Lowell and they explained a 3rd party was now dealing with the account on their behalf (Lucas Credit Services). Whilst Lowell had me on the phone (just after receiving the CCJ letter) they told me I had 2 other accounts with them. These are listed below and it will explain what I did. I spoke with Lucas and stupidly paid them the full amount including costs which was a total of £997.63. I really wish I had educated myself before paying them it was honestly a knee jerk reaction and I walked straight into their trap. Lowell Portfolio 1 (Vanquis Credit Card Account) Account Started: 19/07/2010 Default Date:31/08/2012 Default Balance: £1245.00 Balance: £1,245.00 Whilst speaking with Lowell after receiving the pending CCJ notice on the above account I agreed to setup a payment plan with them for £25.00 per month. I paid them £12.50 on the phone there and then. Lowell Portfolio 1 (Communications Account) This is the 2nd account Lowell told me about during the phone call. Now I have access to all 3 CRA’s I can see there isn’t an entry for this account. Whilst speaking with Lowell after receiving the pending CCJ notice on the above account I agreed to setup a payment plan with them for £25.00 per month. I paid them £12.50 on the phone there and then. Wonga Account Started: 31/08/2011 Default Date:30/12/2011 Default Balance: £1151.00 Balance: £1151.00 In Feb 2015 I received an email from Wonga stating that they have bought back the account and I no longer have to pay Wonga nor PRA Group Ltd any money. They also stated the CRA’s would be updated accordingly. 1 year later this account is still on my credit as unsatisfied. PRA (UK) Group Ltd (Payday loan) Account Started: 11/04/2011 Default Date:01/12/2011 Default Balance: £1056.00 Balance: £1056.00 Now I believe this account is the same account as Wonga. I cannot recall anything else at that time with that value. Natwest (Current account) Account Started: 17/12/2001 Default Date:31/08/2012 Default Balance: £457.00 Balance: £0 This was an old current account with an overdraft. Any help on what to do next would be very much appreciated and if you need any additional information please let me know. Thank you in advance.
  17. Thanks for the reply. I cannot recall anything else around that time that was defaulted. I've emailed PRA a couple of times but they haven't replied. I'll give them a call and find out. Hopefully it's the wonga default duplicated. I've only got just over a yet to go until they drop off now I believe.
  18. I had an account with Wonga that was taken out in April 2011. I received an email from Wonga in Feb 2015 just over a year ago stating that i no longer owe any money to Wonga or to PRA(UK) ltd and that my credit file would be updated to reflect this. My issue is this. I believe i have 2 defaults in relation to Wonga on my credit file. 1 for £1145.00 from Wonga the other £1192.00 from PRA UK Ltd. They have different default dates however I'm sure they must be the same account as i cannot recall any other debts to that value at that time. I have contacted both companies but haven't received any feedback as yet. Question 1- Could they be the same accounts with different default dates and values? albeit similar. Question 2- Does the Wonga buyback remove the default or just update the balance the zero? Thanks in advance.
  19. Well I'm unsure what to do to be honest. I have 3 defaults with Lowell Portfolio 1. A couple of weeks ago i received a CCJ notice. I paid the full amount the next day so it wouldn't go to court so that account is settled. The other 2 i have arranged a payment plan with Lowell to ensure that the other 2 accounts don't escalate to CCJ's. if i send them a letter requesting the default notice etc and it turns out to be unenforcable they cannot issue anymore defaults for that account as it has to be the original creditor?
  20. I have a number of defaults on my credit reports they are about 4 years old. I am thinking of writing to each creditor/collection agency asking to produce copies of the default notice and the credit agreements. My question is this. If a creditor or collection agent cannot send me copies of the original default notice and the original default becomes unenforceable is it possible for them to issue a default notice following this for the same account? therefore a 2nd default on that same account would be on reports for another 6 years? Thanks in advance.
