  1. Hi everyone! I today sent off my subject acess letter to Barclays with the full intention of going all the way and reclaiming every single penny from the b*****ds. I know that compared to some of the other claims its not going to be a huge amount - 300 quid or so - but firstly that's quite a lot of money to me and my little family and secondly, I now feel like its sort of my duty! How dare they take that money from me (and all the rest of us for that matter!)! However, I have to admit that I'm a little scared... One of my main worries is the fact that I have quite a large overdraft with Barclays and I have a funny feeling that they are going to ask for that money back as soon as things start turning nasty. Not really sure what I'm going to do then, really, so any suggestions at this point would be more than welcome ! Anyway, I'm feeling quite excited at this point, and as I recon I have nothing to loose (well, apart from that overdraft..) I'm thinking Bring it on! Still, would be gratefull for a little pep-talk from anyone who's got a minute, just to get some reassurance! Will keep you updated as things progress! Jenni
  2. I'm a student nurse and have had a student additions account with barclays for quite a few years now. Over time, my overdraft has risen to a massive £1700. I would now like to reclaim the hundreds of pounds I have been for unpaid direct debits/bounced cheques, etc., not just because I could really do with the money but also because it's a matter of principle - they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it!! However, I am quite concerned about the fact that in some cases Barclays appears to have closed peoples' accounts down. As I already have another current account with a different bank there's no problem there, but I'm not sure what will happen to my overdraft - will they claim the money back? Would I have to pay immediately? This is a massive concern, as I obviously haven't got £1700 to settle it. I'd be really gratefull for any suggestions! Thanks, Jen

I would really like to reclaim the charges I've had over the past few years, not only because it's a few hundred quid that I could really do with but also because I'm disgusted with them and feel that they have no right whatsoever to that money - it's like you're on the floor already and they just kick you in the face, isn't it? Anyway, I am worried that if I make a claim they will close down my account and demand I pay off my overdraft immediately. Could they do that? What could I do if it happened? I already have a second current account with a different bank so no problems there, but I obviously haven't got 1700 quid readily available, so Im not sure what to do! I'd be really gratefull for some advice! Thanks, Jen
