  1. My son bought a contract from EE with the agreement that he would be able to use his phone in Australia when he was going to leave a few months later. When he informed them he was leaving for Australia, they told him that they were unable to honour the agreement re using his phone in Australia as the service was no longer available and that he would have to buy out of his contract at the cost of over £300. Unfortunately he had nothing in writing and no named person he had had the discussion with. My son has now been in Australia for nearly 3 months and 2 letters have arrived demanding money and threatening reports to Credit Reference Agencies. My son is adamant he will not pay due to the wrong advice and EE are just demanding loads of money. I spoke to someone at EE today who said he was unable to tell me anything about the contract due to data protection. Have you any idea what we should do in this situation?
