Could you possibly give me an update to what happened to you ? The reason I ask is that I have just done the same thing, first time ever shoplifting, I don't know why other that I've recently had mental health issues and am seeing a psychiatrist and started on medication just over a month ago. I was not taken to the police station but I assume everything was filmed in the shop interview room. The CD was put in an envelope with statements and I was told it would go to the PF to decide what to do. I am guilty, there are no two ways about that, I am ashamed and I will know for the rest of my life that I am a thief. I will now lose my job - I am currently on sick leave, but having worked there for 28 years would have liked to have stayed until I retired,as I will not be able to pay my mortgage otherwise and will lose my home. As part of helping my mental health issues, my brother had arranged for me to visit him in Australia in May, now I won't be able to get in. I feel I have ruined my life.
