    Hi, I missed my appointment with JCP last Wednesday. I did not 'phone them until today, and got a whole load of hassle. Basically, my mum is in hospital so I have been very upset and I fell out with my dad, so have been staying with mates. All very high drama. I was too down to go into see an advisor today. I told her I was still sick (which she was not happy about). She said she will put a form in the post for me to fill in. How long do I get to complete this form? Can I hand it in at my June 24th signing? She said no money will be released until it is completed. People are saying online you only get 5 days to get the form back... some say a week? HELP.
  2. Yes, I know that !!! But this is what is fundamentally "wrong". If you don't really see a light at the end of the tunnel (i.e. a paid job at least at the end of CWP), then it is just gonna feel like the worse thing. If organisations such as Councils make so much in profits, then it is high time for some "proper" jobs for locals.
  3. I think this whole "workfare" thing can feel like more of a punishment to folk, depending on what they are doing !!! If you are picking up litter, I am not sure what on Earth this is supposed to do for a CV, or yourself !!! It is just a pity everything has to have a "community" benefit, rather than giving folk "proper" jobs in "proper" Companies.
  4. Hi, Don't wish to name the company, as I could wind up with a LOT worse to do !!!! The company is a charity and has only quite recently started, so it is unclear whether there will be paid employment. I would imagine it would just be part-time somehow !!! I am just over half way through this CWP, so just gotta keep going !!!!!!!
  5. Thanx folks !! I have just received a 'phone call from Learn Direct. Seems they are very serious about things being "just so". They have suggested I may be moved to another area for job activity, which I think would be best. Once the provider is spoken to in the New Year, they ain't gonna be happy with me !! So... anyone else out there not happy.... STAND UP TO IT !!!
  6. Hi, I am on "workfare" at the moment near Glasgow !!!! I am actually quite happy with my placement via JobCentrePlus and a local provider. I want to go back into anything "admin", and my placement is an Admin post, where I have learned new skills and am set to learn more in 2015. It gives me something recent to discuss at interviews and looks good on my C.V. HOWEVER... we have to attend a job activity session once per week. Unfortunately for me, there is a Manager there who does NOT like me, and spent an entire morning making a fool of me, telling me I was having a bad morning (I was not), etc., etc. When I challenged him and told him I had "done nothing", I was told this was WHY I was being picked on !!!! I have contacted "Learn Direct" on a complaint form. Learn Direct are in partnership with this local provider. However, it seems they cannot handle my complaint until January 5th 2015 !!!! At this point, all Hell is bound to break loose, as I have not spoken to this Manager directly. I feel for JSA allowance folk are being set out to pick up litter and all sorts - job search at the same time - all for garbage money - and some folk try to make our lives Hell over and above this. The whole thing has not been thought through properly, with some folks' Managers not quite realising how many hours job seekers have to do, etc., etc. What would other folk do? Thanx for advice and Merry Xmas !!!

    Thanks so much !! I am re-referred to JCP around Sept 9th (?). I asked my adviser if my next appointment would be my last. He said he did not know, which I don't believe !!! Yes. They really are a joke.

    Hi folks !! I am new here. Basically, I am approaching the end of the work programme, and about to return to the job centre. On Tuesday, a telephone call was made to my mobile by Ingeus. However, the number showed up as "unknown", and I did not pick it up. Half an hour later, my adviser rang my mobile with a message to have my mobile switched on as an adviser from another office was about to start a few people working in Glasgow. I am assuming I would have had to go to Glasgow that day. The tone of the voicemail was rather threatening. This adviser does NOT like me because I reported him to the Manager for doing so little for me. I also asked for another adviser (I did not get one). I heard no further word from the Glasgow branch, and rang them in the end, left a message and nobody called me back? My adviser also made no further telephone calls. I feel this was incorrectly handled. Surely my adviser should have rang (or e-mailed me) to tell me there was a job on. On the voicemail, he also stated he did not know what the job was for?! HELP !!!! It has actually been two years of Hell with these people, I have zero cancelled appointments, but they basically did nothing for me in all of this time. I have a feeling this Company are about to be put out of action. The job centre have a new "recommended jobs" system for Clients, so where is the need for this Company any longer?
