Just wanted to check. I presume they are just able to confirm basic details name address and that I hold an account then? For identity verification purposes. They have a habit of doing it. No limit charge card.

Yes I know they have access to my credit file. But they told me they are phoning my bank as part of the review to verify details. My question is can my bank give account balances, transaction information etc out without my permission?

A credit card provider I use are currently conducting an in depth credit review on my account. They have told me they are waiting to verify information with my bank. I presume this is basic details such as my bank will confirm I do indeed have an account with them and the correct name and address? My bank can't give details to a credit provider such as balance of the account or amounts going in/out etc can they? I'm concerned about what information is being shared without my permission
