  1. Have you looked at the site jobserve.co.uk not sure if all vacancies are genuine but I have had feedback from jobs I have applied for it also does one click apply for most jobs, so could be another for your list
  2. upto last week I was seeing my advisor almost every 2 weeks starting next week I am just back to regular sign ons for a few minutes (every 2 weeks), (not sure how long this will go on for before I start seeing my advisor again)
  3. yup, that's how I do it my sign on is Monday morning, so I start a new page when I get back on Monday and put things on it up till sunday night
  4. for me I would start a new page after signing on (they should sign the book when you sign on) so as its only 2 days extra, prob do the last one as 19th to 27th then start a new page from the 28th when you get back from signing, and use that page till next Tuesday (3rd) then start another new page on the 4th and use that til the Tuesday after so you have wed as the start date of the page and finish it the following Tuesday (so you start a new week/page after signing on)
  5. I just write down what I have done, I usually start a new page/week in the book after I have signed on Not sure whether I do it right or not, been filling in the book since mid march and they haven't looked at it yet When I have my interview for post work programme, she just checks my UJM details
  6. I don't put the dates as its all within a week (nothing to lose by putting dates on if you want) That info is fine (as well as everything else on your agreement)
  7. Not sure what more you can put in your work booklet 'I will' contains the items on your job seekers agreement 'What I did' contains the details from the above entries when you do them
  8. quite a few around, I have used some of the online ones my job searching seems slow this week, covering everything on my agreement but so far only found 3 jobs to apply for this week
  9. sounds like you are doing plenty I usually just search for example covering letters and then slightly modify them here is an example one I found for bar work (searched for 'bar staff covering letter'), just make sure to double check it is not full of American terms, if so put it into uk english http://www.dayjob.com/content/bar-staff-cover-letter-example-1268.htm when I do this I also put the covering letter on UJM, it adds it as an activity you have done automatically
  10. not sure what else you can put everything that's part of your agreement plus create cover letters update CV phone employers register with more websites check more local papers don't recall that the JC said you have to apply for a specific number of jobs a week, so covering everything on your agreement and applying for approx. 10 jobs per week should easily fill up a page on the job book
  11. Sorry to hear this, it seems that courtesy is a thing of the past now I feel similar when I chase up about jobs and gets a response of 'the person dealing with it is out of the office can you call back' or ' the person dealing with it will phone you' obviously didn't get the job as get the same response every time you try phone and they never return the call, be nice to be told things instead of having to chase them up
  12. 4 weeks away from it is ok, you can enjoy the start of summer for your other activities how about create a couple of covering letters, tailored to the type of work you are wanting register with some more on line job sites/agencies any free local papers in your area you don't normally get that friends/family do just a few thoughts
  13. similar to the current one, just change the jobs applied and companies you sent your cv to if your job seekers agreement is the same, each week will be very similar in your job book
  14. just got back from my latest post work programme appointment I have now been put back onto the regular sign on every two weeks, not sure how long this will go on for, but for now I have no community service or daily attendance to look forward to
  15. thanks for replies about expenses now going into account I don't have a problem how they do it (as long as I get the money), think my JC must be behind the times, it is quite big though, 3 floors of it
  16. sounds like that goes down as contacted employers eg I contacted 'ABC' and got told no jobs currently (or waiting for them to get back to me) The important thing to make sure is have you covered everything your agreement says you must do each week So for everything at the top where you say 'I will', have you got a similar at the bottom saying 'I Contacted', 'I Checked', 'I Applied' etc
  17. don't think you need to put the work club down as it's not on your job agreement to do this, personally I would, just like you said there ' attended work club on thur & fri', it's just another thing you are doing regarding finding work for job, I just write down applied for bla bla bla, I have confirmation emails if they need to see more details I just use the one page per week and manage to squeeze it all in, if you do need to go onto the next page ignore the 'I will' section of it, it's covered from the previous page What time are you due in tomorrow, I am in at 11:20 to see what they have me doing next
  18. sorry, yes, I meant above all jobs applied for next you mentioned you go to a work club, I would also add this on as well (put the hours spent for this, including travelling) they might not care about things that are not part of your agreement, but for me the more thing you list that show you want work the better
  19. only differences i would say are (comments in your list) The only other thing I would say for this part is change the 'I will' to 'I have' and similar Apart from that it is very similar to how I do it
  20. Don't think it shows that, but it must be logged somewhere When my advisor looks at mine, all she see is the date of the entry, not the time (if you have denied access to it, they shouldn't be able to get anything from it) Does you job seekers agreement show you have to look after breakfast and after tea?, from what you have said it only says you have to look on the site daily
  21. Everything that is on your job agreement and marked with daily or weekly needs to be put in the 'I will' section as you have to do all these things during the week The next section about what you have done is really just a duplicate of this, you put the item in here when you have done them, I usually enter things in here after I have done them I don't see the point of the 'I Will' section, as all that gets filled in is what your job agreement mentions
  22. seems to be lots of different rules in job centres, thought it would be the same in all of them when I go in on a non signing day I get my travel money given to me in cash
  23. for me it was looking for jobs on there, if there are any suitable then apply, if no suitable then you can't, looking for them on there is the important bit I never apply for them on there, if I find one I look for it on one of my other job sites
  24. I write all those down in my job booklet as things I am going to do during the week (except for the ongoing ones), if I do modify my CV then I would put that down Handing out your Cv's to employers is one of the items, that would come under the one of contacting employers (weekly), you need to do the others So in the top section that starts with I Will put use jobsites and employer websites to find and apply for jobs i can do (daily) log in to my UJM account to find and apply for i can do (daily) contact employers directly ask about any apply for jobs i can do (weekly) check newspaper job vacancy sections and apply to those i can do (weekly) respond promptly to contacts and notifications from employers and jobsites (daily) Under the next section What I did you then put that you did the above checked jobsite, monster, indeed (daily) checked UJM (daily) contacted employers about vacancies (this is the one you do on a tue/fri giving cv's out) checked local paper (wed for me) checked emails related to jobs and responded (daily) and now list all jobs you applied for I use one page in the book for a weeks worth of activity things do seem to vary from area to area and job centre to job centre, but so far filling mine in like this has caused no issues and the advisor has been happy with it
  25. Anything you can ask on here instead of PM?
