  1. Hi. The work done was: Sedate cat £17.92 Radiography 1st exposure £55.32 Radiography, additional exposures £39.47 Blood sample £11.27 Vet Test general bio-chem profile (in-house) Haematology (in-house laboratory) Lab GUVS retrovirus/coronavirus profile £55.20 They never showed us the blood test results, they just told us they were clear. I think the last thing on the list is the one they sent away. I dont know what it means though. They did say his white cell count was high but didn't say why. I dont know anything about it but it seems reasonable. It was just the first visit to the vet seemed like a total waste of time and money. Should I write them a letter or something?
  2. Hi. I'll try and keep a long story as short as possible. Recently, one of our three cats had start to find it difficult to climb on things or jump. He was really struggling with his back legs. He couldn't even swivel/turn round without completely falling over. We took him to the the vet who had a quick look over him (I personally wouldn't call it thorough) and came to the conclusion he was constipated. I thought it a bit strange due to his symptoms but thought they'd know what's what so went along with it. They gave him an injection for "pain relief" although he wasn't showing any signs of pain and a course of cat laxitive. Along with the consultation fee, the total came to £61. After the weeks course of catalax had finished, there was no change in his condition whatsoever. Then a couple of days after (a friday I think) he had what I would describe as a seizure or fit. It was absolutely terrifying. We phoned the vet a.s.a.p but they couldn't see him until after the weekend. He had another 4 or 5 fits over the weekend (That we saw). So we took him back to the vet on the tuesday (i think) and saw a different person this time. They gave him a really thorough check and noticed a few things that worried us, especially as the previous vet hadn't. They noticed he had enlarged lymph noids which was a worrying sign and said it's possible he might have leukemia. Anyway, they quoted us £120 for tests and a scan so we went ahead with this. The blue cross offered to pay some as were on a low income due to me being in college just now. We took him in for the tests and scan and when we went to pick him up, we got handed a bill for £246! The lady said they forgot to add the blood tests to the quote or something. Now I dont mean to sound like money is the most important thing because obviously our cat is very important to us but we struggle enough as it is without this. Do you think there's anything we can do about the first (poor) diagnosis or the mis quote? P.S 2 of the 3 tests and the x-ray came back clear. The third test got sent away to a university and we wont hear back for a week or so.
  3. Thanks CJ. I've only had the account open since Dec '05 and the total is £695. I kept all statements and can access them all online anyway but thanks. It's just the sheer unhelpfulness of them thats annoyed me more than anything. Swines.
  4. I wish i did. He was the most arguementative, unhelpful and rude person i think i've ever spoken to! Tried to sell me an overdraft to cover myself in future as well. I don't think i'll have a future with the Lloyds very soon.
  5. I currentley bank with the Lloyds TSB. They plan on charging me £265 on the 1st June. I can't afford to pay that as it's about a third of my wages. I phoned customer care and spoke to a rude gentleman that said they won't refund any of the charges as they'd previously refunded £100 on the 1st Sep '06. "Good luck in court" he told me. So i plan on switching banks before the 1st June to avoid this excessive charge and also on reclaiming the charges over the active period which amounts to just under £700. How will this make my case stand when i start reclaiming? Can i say i don't intend on paying as the accounts in dispute? I don't want to jepordise the claim before it's begun. Thanks
  6. I know exactly what you mean. But the good thing about getting your court papers ready is having them at hand for the next claim! LOL!
  7. Well the cheque arrived this morning guys. Settled in full+court costs. Thanks for all your help. Townend81
  8. Sods law isn't it. I got turned away from the court yesterday for a mistake in my POC. So i Amended the problem and went back today and lodged the claim. An hour later i got a phone call from customer relations. Now bearing in mind the amount is £955 (£1025-£70 from previously refunded charges). The lady said "blah blah They're legal, Blah goodwill gesture, we can offer £650". I said no. 2 mins later she said £850. I said no. Told her i want the full amount including court costs. "Court costs?" she said. "yes" i said "lodged an hour ago" i said. So she put me on hold for about 5 mins and finally came back and told me i could have the full amount including costs. So i'm just awaiting payment now guys. THANK YOU. When the cheque arrives and is cashed i'll cancel court action and donate to CAG. Thanks again.
  9. If any one could help i'd appreciate it. I phoned the bank in reference to my missing statements and they said they couldn't find me on either of their systems, for 3 accounts i held with them. They said it must've been deleted in the merger a while back. Now will taking them to court actually help me retrieve this information or will it just be a waste of my time? I thought about complaining to the IC, but this seemed like a much more aggresive style...which i like!
  10. Thanks Enron. All letters have been kept. I thought about posting in BOS but as it was a general query as to whether this would fall under the category of a breach of the DPA i thought it would be better suited in here for now. I will now find the Data controllers name and pursue this further. I think i'll compose a letter stating that this is a breach and if the situation isn't rectified within 7 days a complaint will be made without further delay. Do you think this is long enough for a reply. I am rather surprised as in a previous claim by myself the statements arrived within 20 days. Thanks
  11. The B.O.S have lost information on three accounts i am trying to pursue statements for. All are less than 6 years old. Two went to a debt collectors and one was closed by myself. According to the gentleman on the phonen no record is held on their 'systems' due to the merger a while back. A S.A.R has been sent for all three and the 40 day limit has been breached on all three. Is this a breach of the Data Protection Act? And will a complaint to the ICO help retrieve this information?
  12. Well after the day i wrote this last post i got a letter saying my statements were on their way so i gave them a few days and lo and behold they arrived. So i went to the bank to pick them up. Opened the envelope to check them and they'd sent statements from my partner and I's joint account which i hadn't asked for on this occasion (I received these about 2 months ago on a different claim!) and 1 lonely sheet from an old switch account i'd completely forgot about and hadn't asked for either! (Although this one sheet contained £240 worth of charges so i'll be pursuing these as well) So i phoned them to find out whats happening and they now say that they can't find info on any of the three accounts although i'm at court stage with one of them! He actually said they merged a while back and they must of been put onto the merged system although he had access to both systems he still couldn't find them! I'm confused and annoyed. It feels like they just say whatever they feel at the time to get rid of you. Shall i just complain to the information commisioners office and see if that'll help?
  13. I'm just keeping it simple and handing them in to the court in person. That way i get to speak to someone in person so i can understand the process better and get them to check the papers while they're at it.
