  1. Did not appreciate the difference between pension and pension credit....so didn`t think a weekly rental income relevant............it gets worse.....after my mother died the savings she left ended up in a account with my name on it, but by that time I was suffering from a state of inertia(lack of) until the knock on the door, that brought me to my senses. I`v offered to return anything owed but no reply.
  2. I lost my job as a HGV Driver......problem being lack of sleep, I worked full time but also looked after my mother at home in the middle stages of Dementia...she would often roam the house in the middle of the night and sometimes try to escape. Eventually my work suffered and was sacked. Aged 61 my local Jobcentre turned me away at the door saying I must contact DWP to claim pension. Because of circumstances.. I arranged a home visit and signed the paperwork at home, about one week later I also completed a recorded telephone interview. I am now being threatened with benefit fraud prosecution, but at the interview under caution the interviewer is insisting that I made the recorded telephone application, first, received the paperwork days later to sign, and the home visit must have happened sometime later....this is not true...when I tried to explain the paperwork was signed and returned one week before the recorded telephone interview took place she ignored my comments and the transcript of the interview was marked INAUDABLE. This took place mid August .....I am still waiting
