1. Thanks for replying It's a business line - we're a 'small business' under their plan settings on the 'Plus 500 - 24' plan. Yes, it was done over the phone in 2004 so I don't have any documentation of the conversation but it was several years ago so I assume that the terms and conditions that I'm currently trying to comprehend suggest something about an automatic renewal as that's the only reason that I suspect they could charge us £300 for simply cancelling our plan. I've attached an image of our communication dialogue to this reply encase this informs you of my position. I'm going to have a look for any original paperwork now (I'll reply with how my search goes tomorrow) it's obviously going to be very old so I really hope I can find it. I know that we have plenty of bills but they've stopped sending these out now as they've got paper-free. Whilst this will obviously be useful, I still stand my belief that without running anything through with us, we have 100% never renewed a contract. Instead it seems that he's been started again which is why leaving the service will cost us £300 that I believe we should not be entitled to pay. We wish to transfer the service to a new provider (BT to be precise).
2. Earlier today I spoke to an advisor at the company OneBill Telecom as I wished to leave the company having used their services for my phone line, the advisor told me that I could leave and never mentioned any details about a contract. Later, only a few minutes ago I received an email from the company, informing me: "A Cancellation Administration Fee of £299.00 will become immediately payable by you in accordance with our standard Terms and Conditions" Now I for one know that myself and my husband signed up for this service several years ago and whilst receiving our bills, we have certainly not renewed any contract however the terms and conditions (I've attached these terms and conditions to this thread) state that we must now pay £299.99 for the disconnection of our phone line. If there is any advice available then that would be very much appreciated as I've already considered taking this to the small claims court if the fault is on them for automatically renewing my contract (no longer allowed by Ofcom) but now I'm thinking that because we're simply with OneBill Telecom as a business we're required to pay the fees regarded of the possible automatically renewed contract. Many thanks Jack
