I work in a newsagents shop and my normal working hours are a mon, tues, weds, Thursday and sat. Now my query is that I am happy to work on bank holidays when the shop is open but we are told we are not needed and the boss does it with his wife? We have to use up our holiday entitlement? Now with christmas coming Boxing Day is on a Thursday and New Year's Day is on weds and once again he's opening the shop but we have been told we are not needed so we have to use up our holiday? it's an independent shop. Is this legal??? thanking you in advance.
