  1. Exactly BL, what we are trying to find out by requesting these Codes!!! Will keep you posted. LOULA
  2. Too right BankFodder. Get a solicitor who specialises in Personal Injury claims. I contested the award for a back injury due to a rear car shunt and too a PI sol with me to the court and got 3 times as much as the original offer. Anyway.... There is some advise regarding injury claims and compensation from a website I found for you... As you can see they say £3k for the collarbone injury, but we do not know the facts surrounding that injury. Suggest you find a good PI Sol in your area, ask for a free 15 minute consultation (lots of sols offer this now if they think there is a chance of a good case for them) and take it from there. LOULA
  3. Paul I shall add it to the growing list. LOULA
  4. Lord Woolf set up the 'new' guidelines. Will post link and paste necessary pages tomorrow. (PC is playing up) LOULA
  5. No, ex- insurance, specialising in the tourist industry. But not travel insurance. Keep me posted on the outcome LOULA
  6. Hi! I will ensure Maxie sees this post for you LOULA
  7. Yes put it on your own thread please. LOULA
  8. Hi Cleopatra, Do not communicate with them again before the 14 days is up and then only send the LBA. You do not need to remind them at all, just follow the prescribed course of action as in the Step by step guidelines LOULA
  9. Ken Smith, Managing Director Air 2000, First Choice Holidays, Diamond House, Peel Cross Road, Salford, Manchester, M5 4DT I agree with Overdrawn, they would not 'knowingly' compromise on safety. However I would write and complain to someone high up as I suggest above, if no other reason an to have someone take notice of you. LOULA
  10. Funny, I was on Ryanair.com. Spooky!!! LOULA
  11. Hello, My youngest daughter has a growth problem which has finally been diagnosed. After almost 9 months of hospital visits and being passed from Paediatrican to Ortho surgeon and back again I decided to try and find something out for myself. It took me weeks of internet trawling to hit the right combination of words to even try and find out what might be wrong. All the things they said was wrong with her just didn;t bring up anythign remotely near. I found the correct word just by fluke. The winning word was 'dwarfism'. She is not a 'dwarf' but has some of the characteristics. I would suggest you try all manner of words associated with your pain, injury, any bone names and even try weird things like 'foot related pain'. You never know what will turn up trumps. Sorry I cannot be of anymore help. LOULA
  12. OK! As this is classed as a package tour then you have plenty of scope for complaint. It is usually carried out after the trip, but hey I am always up for something different. You need to address this issue in writing to Customer Services Manager Travelscope Holidays Ltd Pioneer Avenue Gloucester Gloucestershire GL3 4AW I cannot find out any names or managers or directors. Explain from beginning to end the problem and state that although they have it written into the T's and C's that they can change the departure port, it is unreasonable to expect someone in their 90's to travel so far in an overcrowded coach. Also explain that the ferry company have plenty of space and you reserve the right to travel from this point and meet with the ship in Newcastle. Point at at every possible occasion where their sales staff have misinformed you. As you have paid for travel from the ferry point not a coach pick - state you wish for a refund of the value of the original transfer part of the holiday. Coach travel is by far and away cheaper than the ferry. I hope I haven't misunderstood the problem Let me know if I have LOULA
  13. Yep loads of differing advice on this one... my stance is wait! You have nothing to lose by waiting and if you get to court (very unlikely) and can show you give them the alloted 14 to 'change their minds' then this will count in your favour. I would prepare your LBA dated 9 May and have it sitting waiting to send. It is only just over a week away. Spend the time hugging yourself and feeling good that you should be receiving some of your hard earned cash back very soon! LOULA
  14. What realy annoys me, is that they applied for the charge only two weeks after getting the CCJ. Didn't even give us a chance to pay or offer a repayment programme. I didn't know they could on an unsecured debt, but evidently they can and have! Nothing in the post yet from the Head of Legal Dept. Will let you all know when there is LOULA
  15. Yes, I totally agree with Alan, try to give the Debtline a call. There is usually someone here (the forum) to chat to between 8am and midnight (there are also nightowls of you are having trouble sleeping). Leave a message on this thread or send a private message to us and we will be happy to help you. Please try to stay positive LOULA
  16. I would say it is. I am trying to wade through the FSA guidelines on fees and charges. I will have a 'purple wobbly' if they condone this type of charging. If it were me, I would be writing a letter stating that this is a penalty charge and demanding my money back. LOULA
  17. after many hours of trawling the interest I finally found the name of someone in a position of responsibility at Iberia UK... Mr Angel Valdemoros General Manager UK & Ireland IBERIA Airlines Iberia House 10 Hammersmith Broadway London W6 7AL Write to him. Suggest you give bullet points to mark out the various 'one-way' letters and explain you will not submit the original receipts until he takes responsibilty to settle the claim. Send it Special Delivery - costs £4.10 but guaranteed to get there next day by 1pm and you get a copy of the signature. I would also include in your claim the cost of the postage for all the letters sent and the phones calls. LOULA
  18. I would send a letter of complaint to Caroline Green Head of Customer Services Satellite 3 Stansted Airport Essex DO NOT enclose the original receipt for the baggage charge, just a photocopy (as per their own guidelines.) As per their won rules you shouldonly charged for the excess ie. 8 kilos. LOULA
  19. Hi! So have you over paid the debt? Have they given you exact facts and figures? I would ask (under DPA regulations as always) what exactly has gone on and what has been paid and when, and what charges applied. You may have overpaid and be owed something in return. I doubt they will volunteer the money if they were willing to take another £16k from you. LOULA
  20. Have read and re-read the OFt website and all they say is... Sorry, can't find anything else remotely helpful! Have you tried the CAB? LOULA
  21. Hi1 It is the Claims Standards Council (not agency) Their website is http://www.claimscouncil.org/ It has a Consumers Advice link which you may find useful LOULA
  22. Seminole, I have a growing list of 'new projects' for the Mods and Admin to consider when the Bank Action Group has been fully successful. Shall I add this to the list? I think it is a very good observation on your part esp. given your current position. LOULA
