1. Well, still no joy with the warranty company so off down other routes I go!
2. Thanks Helios, letter back on it's way to the warranty company. Scaniaman the gearbox is not a serviceable item, nor is it scheduled for maintenance in the service plan otherwise it would have been done along with the yearly service.
3. Thank you for the advice guys. So, what would be the best course here: Contact the warranty company again If no joy Contact the car supermarket for the mis selling of the insurance and for the vehicle not lasting a reasonable amount of time If no joy there,Look into FOS complaints and section 75?
4. Cheers for the support Hammy (Do you work for one of these rip off merchants?) I did NOT know what I was buying otherwise I would have not have bought it and would have looked elsewhere for a warranty. How are the terms not unfair? They could probably be interpreted to say that absolutely nothing is covered as anything could be wear and tear over the service life of the vehicle, why sell a warranty for cars upto 80,000 miles? They could say anything is worn at that point. And even if parts are worn, they could be worn due to debris floating around in the gearbox oil causing wear to other parts. Why can't I go down the SOGA act? There was potentially a problem there when I purchased it and the car has not served me for a reasonable amount of time. I have contacted the retailer, they have not responded until now. And for the record I am female not a 'he', and you are the only one who does not think I have a claim.
5. Just an update, received another letter from the warranty company on Saturday stating they still can not overturn the decision as wear and tear is not covered etc etc. I am going to appeal to them one more time before taking this further.
6. Good Luck, I had problems with this company however a swift phone call sorted them out.
7. It totally depends on the insurance company whether you get offered the chance to buy the vehicle back. Don't forget that depending on the damage to the car you may be required to get a VIC check done by the DVLA before putting it back on the road.
8. I think it is when I reach 30, which I should have done now. Edit: Just tried to send you one Helios and apparently I can't so will have to go without the help at the minute
9. Do they still sell the warranty plan? If so I am guessing legally they should have terms and conditions to go with it. I am sorry but as I read it, you didn't want the warranty, so cancelled it, however now you need work doing you want it again? You didn't chase up getting your money back (and should have) however the T & C may state that if you cancel your warranty you are not due to a refund after the cooling off period (if there is one). You may have some ground to stand on as you didn't receive any refund or confirmation however they obviously have it on a email that you cancelled, and you have told us here that you cancelled. Sorry if that's harsh but from what I understand it is true.
10. Don't Parcel2go use various courier services (eg myhermes, tnt?) I am sure I have used them in the past and had no problems, I have however had problems with Royal Mail & City link etc, I honestly think alot of courier services are the same in most respects (useless!) and it's the luck of the draw alot of the time.
11. Phone your network provider and ask to block the numbers, or alternatively contact the companies and tell them you are receiving messages and ask them to stop. I wouldn't be overly concerned unless you start receiving mail or phone calls regarding the loans.
12. I suspect it is due to my low post count (which I am trying to make up by helping other caggerss, honest!) I know you guys have had a bit of a disagreement here however please do not take it out on me!
13. Do you have paperwork showing the problems that were experienced? What were the problems when you purchased it? I am slightly curious as to why you purchased it if the faults were there on the test drive (I would not have taken the car away from the premises knowing they were issues). For the oil issue I would advise you to take the car to a normal garage (somewhere you have been recommended if possible) and get them to diagnose the problem - tell them what you have been told (which sounds like rubbish to be honest, unless you have been using the incorrect oil?), this way you will know what the actual issue is.
14. ^ What ericsbrother said. Your first return will be due for the year to 5th April 2014, which will need to be submitted on paper by 31/10/2014 or online by 31/01/2015. What quite a few people do, to avoid having to calculate parts of years etc is make your accounting y/e 31st March - so your first accounts will only be 7 months for the first year, this keeps things inline with the 5th april tax year end.
15. Do you have any contract showing hours you are contracted to or are you on a '0' hour contract? How much is the training in question? Also, have you spoke to the HR department to ask what will happen?
16. Hopefully this attachment works (the pdf)..could not figure out how to attach it in a message Helios sorry.
17. Thank you helios, I will try and get that over to you. As said I have appealed however only did so with what I understood (which wasn't a great deal of the terminology they use - probably why they use it!) Thanks for the interpretation. I think the assessors answer to the last question was the statement that said I had been driving for a considerable amount of time with the defective part.
18. Yes bar one with a couple of(poor) photos - if you require these I will I will attempt to scan it in tomorrow. I have provided The whole wording part of the report bar the statement mentioned above.
19. Thank you dx, I never thought of doing it that way - I don't have easy access to a printer to scan the report in tonight & I have the PDF file on my computer already hence me using screen dumps.
20. I have 100% uploaded screen dumps of everything the report said regarding the issue. The 1st page was basically my details, along with a statement saying the garage would not allow my battery to be reconnected to verify a mileage reading (live wires in the engine bay, not a wise idea to reconnect the battery) I have however told them I have 2 breakdown reports (long story, never be caught without breakdown cover again!) to verify the mileage. The last part of the report is a statement saying the findings are the assessors own etc etc. This was the first part.
