  6. I have been invited to pay a parking charge notice £60 pounds if i pay within 14 days or 100 after. on 24/1 I parked in a car park that must be for residents only I was only there for about 10 mins and when I came back I had this notice on my car. i think the man must have been already in the car park. on closer looking there are some signs on the wall but they are covered in spray paint. I know you can fight free parking but can I fight this or do I just pay? tanks
  7. I don't think you have a leg to stand on. all the parts that have failed are wear and tear parts, next time you buy a car make sure you get it checked by some one who knows cars sorry
  8. I'd imagine from what you've said, that you've now taxed the vehicle, but only from 1st Oct. So the DVLA will be coming after you, one way or another for the unpaid VED from 1st Feb to 30th Sep. don't they charge you double as well for unpaid tax? sorry its all bad news
  9. on the 14/5/14 my husband got given a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt and today 1/8/14 he has received a letter offering a £100 fine or go to court. now he is very stubbon and pig headed and wants to go to court but I am worried that he will get a big fine that we cant afford and that he is wasting his time fighting the police as the court will always belive the police. he was driving his truck when spotted and had driven past a policeman in a van then was pulled up about 300 yards down the road. the bay was marked out with cones but was to small for the truck he had to take his belt off to move the cones so he could get his truck in. there was a policeman stood in front of him [about 10 feet away] he watched him do this. when told what he was getting done for he asked the policeman who was writing the ticket to be his witness that he had his belt on,but the policeman said he never noticed! the day he had a black t shirt on and a black seat belt and it was a sunny day so had the sun visor down as well. on his truck the seatbelt is part of the seat, ie its not mounted on the door pillar so would be hard to spot. he was asked if he wanted to say anything but there wasn't enough space on the form for the policeman to write it all down. one of the reason he is arguing this is he saw the police setting up on his way to a drop when he went back he made sure that his load was well strapped down he knew he was going to be passing them of course he had his seat belt on. is it worth fighting? he wants his day in court as he is saying he didn't do it as the offence was on the 15/4/14 is it now out of time? thanks
  10. iam with the op on this one you bought 265 tyres you would expect them to be 265 not bigger, it dosnt matter if the cars been modified as 265 fitted before without any issues,so the op thought he was replacing like for like. they only don't fit as they are larger but still in spec don't know what the anser ,is but don't the tyre fitters have a duty of care when fitting? if the op hadn't noticed the fault and gone on and had a accident it could have been a big issue.
  11. with the 3rd one if the pillar is on your left how does this stop you opening your door ?unless you have a left hand drive car? if its to let people out you could let them out before you park in the space or maybe you could reverse into the space.i like parking near pillars as it means people wont open there door onto my car. so is it you taking them to the small claims or ukpc takeing you?
  12. you don't need to change your address if you can still be contacted through your old address eg you moved out of your parents house to your own place.but of course its best to have your address where you are living.
  13. We know how to deal with private parking so your theory is flawed I wish you luck think I have to disagree at the end of the day its about sorting out the issue, which benn133 has done so hes got a result so that's a win in my book as my old mum would say "Theres more than one way to skin a cat"
  14. so whats the matter with it? might just need a long run to charge the battery if its been stood a while
  15. don't want to worry you but I hope the car is "outside your house" on the drive because if it has no tax and parked on the road it can get towed and you will get a big fine.
  16. on some cars they are self bleeding to do this start the engine and turn the steering fully to the right then to the left do this about 6 times and see if it helps. iam presuming there is fluid in the system.
  17. don't really get the point of your quotes but back to you, you admit that you were doing 84 mph that's 14mph over the speed limit so cant say its speedo fault.
  18. I would phone them and ask why it was taken as it might have been taken as it was a eyesore/in the way etc then once you know the reason you can build your defence maybe your ex got it shifted,or maybe the landlord as you are not living there you cant be entitled to park there I would have thought.
  19. thanks that is what I was trying to find out will tell him
