  1. Thank you, I sent it to Protection House, 83 Bradford Road, Leeds, LS28 6AT. I will send the letter to Mr Sands too as my complaint seem to have generated full blown recovery action on the accounts, I am getting messages daily telling me that they are going to arrive at my home unannounced!
  2. I have been receiving a ridiculous amounts of emails, texts and automated calls to my place of work from this lot and until today when I spoke to them (I know not advised) that the alledged debt is for a Swift Sterling payday loan taken in 2012. The only thing I would discuss on this rather amusing call was to tell them to remove my work number from their system. The very strange thing is that only on Wednesday did I send them by recorded delivery a letter of complaint requesting proof of debt, confirmation of who the debt is with (as this has until today not been disclosed), full statement of accounts and for the account to be put on hold as it is in dispute. This was signed for by the aptly named MMF at 10.16 yesterday (Thursday). Laura with no surname told me I had not written to them and that I had not communicated my queries with them in anyway?????????? Really?????? I can prove all written requests and receipt of them by MMF. She asked me what the complaint was about, told her to read the letter, then if I wanted a manager call back to which I politely replied that I do not want to speak to anyone from their company over the phone and would request responses to my numerous emails would suffice and that I would be reporting them should I not receive a satisfactory response to my complaint. Now what I am wanting some advice on is considering they are in receipt of my formal complaint and have actually stepped up their harrassment, what do I do next?
  3. Hi, I have Lending Stream chasing me round the houses but they wont actually provide any info that I ask for!!! They have passed it to Mucky Hall. I have had to enter into a DMP with StepChange due to an ongoing and not going away issue with Student Loans Company and have just added the debt to that. If I am honest I cannot be bothered to fight anymore. As for Wonga, not heard a peep and I have not chased it, if they do rear their ugly heads again, I will ask for the information again and see what they come up with, I certainly wont be chasing them!
  4. I thought I would give an update on my situation. I managed to successfully arrange payment plans with Peachy (bit of a nightmare), Mr Lender, Payday Express and Money in Advance. I am now free of Payday Express and Money in Advance and on 24 December will have paid off Peachy with just Mr Lender to go which will be cleared in March!!!! I am still awaiting evidence (signed copys of agreements from Wonga and Lending Stream) to show the true debts before I set up any kind of payment plans, they have been sold on and my credit rating is through the floor anyway so I am not chasing, but I do have many emails stating that this is evidence I require before I enter into negotiations in case they want to try and take me to court. Life is looking so much better and though things are still a little tight, I am not paying out hundreds of pounds a month to PDL companies any more
  5. From what I can see is that DCA are trying to maintain control by telling you what they want. If they do decide to take the court route with you, you have a good defence as you are offering payments and have disputed the amount they say is owed, but there is one major problem and that is if they provide the courts with you last known address, you are highly unlikely to receive the court papers which you can then file your defence on in time. If it were me, I would provide them with an I&E and show that £20 a month is all you can afford and then would follow this up with a request for bank details. If they do not respond to this I would send a £20 postal order to the address they give and state that you are deducting the costs of the postal order, the stamp and the envelope off the total balance and send them a mini statement showing what you owe. Take back control, you tell them what you can afford and start to make payments, if and I do believe if is a very big word in this case they take you to court, their case would be weak at best!
  6. She was a private vet. We didn't go for a 2nd opinion but went with gut instinct which seems to have proved us right. The wound is pretty much healed, no seeping, no ghastly stench and no sign of it bothering my lovely dog. I will never take him back to her but am happy that he is on the mend
  7. Absolutely right, your rent is PRIORITY!!!! Call your bank and cancel the Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) with your bank, do this by telephone AND letter into your local/nearest branch, when doing this also stress that they companies involved no longer have any authority from you to access your account. My experience indicated that once they realise they cannot take anything from your account, they are more inclined to start listening to your proposals. Do take a look at the Govan Law post, fantastic tips in there!!!
  8. Unfortunately I am at work so unable to watch but was finding it amusing listening to Wonga try and offer the Archbishop a PDL on yesterdays news!!!
  9. The important thing with these people is to stick to your guns, do not let them bully you and know your rights. They will try and question your knowledge with stupid quotes and try and twist the law to suit them. If you do decide to send the postal orders remember to include a cover letter and in that state opening balance, current balance (after postal order) and deduct the cost of the postal order and postage from the balance.
  10. Thank you that really helped! I have just been on the phone and gone through my I&E which I spent some time sorting out last night. As expected it came out as a deficit, which was no surprise as I was £300+ short for my bills last month!!! They have put my case on hold for the next 6-8 months and will then write to me to review my finances. Hopefully by then my appeal will be sorted, but at least I can sleep a bit easier now.
  11. Today has been absolutely awful. Had 2 letters from HMRC demanding payment of £5000 & £4500 by 7 December 2013 dated 28 October 2013. I know that I should of been expecting it but an hour earlier I fell down the stairs and was (still am) in a mess. I rang the "helpline" (as much help as a chocolate teapot!) and they were just horrible. I discovered that my complaint had been logged on 24 October and my dispute/appeal of the overpayment was logged with the CEO's office on 28 October (same day as letter) and that they will not put a hold on these horrible letters, though they have 17 weeks to deal with my letters. They have suggested putting a payment plan in place to stop the letters, but I am concerned, very concerned that this would show my "admission/ownership" of the overpayment which I strongly disagree with. I was told that I could pay back over ten years at £90 per month, which to be blunt is impossible right now or provide an I&E form to get this reduced and that they can take 25-50% of my excess income. I feel like throwing up, and am about to buckle under the pressure, what would anyone suggest?? Please please help if you can as I really dont know what to do
  12. My husband and I took out a loan (secured) with our friends at Welcome in 2006 for £10,000. We have had our PPI refunded already. We have approximately £4500 left on the account which is in default and with their "last chance saloon" department so no further interest is being added to our account. We are meant to be paying £220 per month, but at the moment are experiencing financial difficulties and they are not willing to help. My husband is highly likely to be made redundant in February and will be getting a payout which we intend to use to clear some debt, this being one of them. I have been paid today and after paying everything am in the red by about £200. I have spent most of the day negotiating with everyone I owe money to in order to get reduced payments for the next 2 months as I should be in a better position in the new year as a few debts will be finished. The last time I spoke to an account manager at Welcome they told me that the next step is to get an attachment of earnings on my salary and that was that, really quite an upsetting conversation. Now I do know that they have to take me to court etc first but with my DD due out on Monday has anyone got any suggestions of how to deal with them. I have 3 children and need to live but though I have dealt with PDL companies, this lot intimidate me
  13. Mr L agreed to my payment plan without any problems. TBH they seem to be (only had 1 month on p/plan) really quite fair. I am able to make payments into their accounts, which I am doing by going into Barclays and not via my bank account and they have acknowledged payment via email. I did get a text this morning to say my p/plan had failed but that was just because I cancelled my CPA. I have now had it confirmed that the plan is up to date and a statement of account has been sent to me.
  14. I get texts and emails galore all day long!! I did think about changing my details but thats ridiculous so my delete button is getting very worn lol!! I have 3 pdl's left, all on payment plans and will be free after the last payment is made on Februay 25th!!!!
  15. In case anyone else may need them:- Bank Name: Barclays Account Number: 2382-4616 Sort Code: 20-95-61
  16. My first payment is due on Friday, I do not want to be late or give any reason to reneg on our arrangement. Does anyone have their bank details??
  17. It has been 10+2 days since I authorised them to send info to me via email, would I send the letter of dispute today (obviously I will do this by recorded delivery) and sorry to be a paid, but is there a template that I can use? Many thanks for your help in this
  18. They responded to me asking for me to confirm my identity and that I was happy to received sensitive info by email which I responded yes to on 10 October. I have not her a dickybird since, should I do anything or just sit and wait. My credit file indicates that the default balance was just over £800 so where they get £1900+ from is a mystery
  19. I have a 13 year old crossbread who I love dearly. on the outer ankle area of his left front leg he has what looks to me like an injury which has become infected. We took him to the vets yesterday, not had to bother taking him to the vets much as he is a really healthy dog so dont really have a relationship with a vet as such and I am quite upset and concerned by her diagnosis. Upon looking at the wound, which to be fair is quite grotesque, she immediately said that it is a huge mass and a tumour and needs to be surgically removed and that is what the foul smell coming from him was. This last point made my husband cross as the fould smell was his breath due to him licking this infection/abscess and annoyed him that she couldnt tell the difference. She cleaned the wound, gave him a lampshade to stop him licking it as this is making it worse, and some antibiotics and pain relief. She also quoted surgery at £650-£700. I told her that due to his age and cost I was unsure if this is something we would want to do and she just told me that we had to hope that it would heal then. Also that it could take weeks or months to fully heal. I feel in limbo as we have no idea what not operating would mean, it seems to us that she has implied we put him to sleep, but he is not in pain and apart from this is very health. We are following the treatment, cleaning 2 x daily and his meds, but after already paying £77 to her am a bit wary about taking him back on Monday as tbh I dont have much faith in her. Does anyone know if a person not on benefits could get help with a vets bill or would I be screwed???
  20. Oh my days, this lot are useless!!! I have been with them for near on 4 years and because of their complete lack of common sense, every month I get cut off the day after my bill is produced! Reason being is that when I first went over to them I somehow found myself a month in arrears (probably had something to do with it being Christmas time) I end up with a bill for 2 months so pay 1 month of that bill, if I paid 2 months then they would change my payment date, it is such a fiasco and its all over 2 days. This time I havent bothered and am going to go back to Sky and when they chase me for payment, or whoever they sell debt to chases me for payment I shall offer to pay over 10 months. I would say write a formal complaint but they dont tend to respond to that either
  21. I sent my letter to my local MP and he has taken my case up with them, fingers crossed some good will come of it. The least I woud hope for is that this is seen as bad practice and a review of how they inform people of overpayments is done.
  22. I was going through my emails and deleting the hundreds of PDL ones I get everyday and I came across this one and actually took time to read it. Things like this should be banned and quite clearly gives people a false impression of payday loans 5 Good Reasons why Susan should get a Payday Loan [pretty date] We've all been there: the dreaded day when you come up a few hundred pounds short of your rent, mortgage or auto payment. Or you suddenly have a major car or home repair that needs fixing now. Problem is, your credit cards are maxed and your bank account statement is a little weak these days. So why would you consider a payday loan to get you through the lean times? Here are five facts to consider: 1-There's no credit check. A welcome relief for those of us with less-than-stellar scores, who wouldn't get a loan from the bank. And as long as you repay the loan in time, there won't be any negative impact on your score. 2-If you don't have the cash to cover bill payment, the damage caused to your credit report can be long-lasting and prevent you from getting loans and credit cards in the future. A payday loan can help you avoid this mess, by giving you the cash to make those payments. 3-Unlike pawn shops and loan sharks, payday loans use clear, fixed terms for borrowing and repayment. There's no mystery about the penalties or interest owed if you take longer to repay the loan. 4-The application process is fast and easy, usually putting cash into your account immediately. Repayment is just as easy, as you can do it online through your bank account. 5- Payday loans are unsecured, so you're not in danger of losing your home or car. When you're in a pinch, the payday loan is there to get you through. Just make sure you know the repayment terms and have a solid plan for repayment. It's not uncommon for a small payday loan to cost several hundred pounds in the end - so consider your options carefully. Unless you know for certain you can pay the debt back within a month, you're better off using credit cards, a bank overdraft, or debt repayment plans if you need to pay other creditors. The bottom line is, make sure you have the ability to pay back the loan within a month, so you don't wind up paying astronomical interest rates. And make sure you really need the money, because you don't want to risk being enslaved to a PayDay loan company for an impulsive shopping spree. It is disgusting that this sort of junk is sent, and those of us having a vulnerable moment may be attracted by it!
  23. I am still very angry with them, but hopefully they will have received my dispute letter (sent by recorded mail) today and this has also been sent to my MP, not sure what good it will do but suddenly telling someone who thought they were getting out of debt that they now have another £10,000 worth is not on Does anyone else have any ideas on what I can do, preparation is my best course of defence I think
  24. In May I stopped my tax credit claim due to my husband and I moving back in together after a 3 year separation. What I stupidly forgot to do is my renewal, my thoughts were I am no longer claiming so dont need to renew.............WRONG!!!! Now they have sent me an overpayment letter for £1158.62, this covers the payments I got from April to May, OK I understand that I shouldn't have had those so thats fine, can't pay all at once so following advice on letter call to set up payment plan. The call starts well and I am told its about £35 per month over 3 years, yep no problem with that. What happens next almost gives me heart failure. I am then asked my personal details and upon confirming them the advisor asks me if I am already on a payment plan which I am not. He then goes on to tell me that there are a further 2 overpayments showing on my file, one for £4076 and one for £5500 for years 12/13 and 11/12 respectively!!! After being passed from pillar to post it transpires that my failure to renew and provide all my childcare info has apparantly pulled up loads of question marks and these overpayments are where they have now decided I wasnt entitled to childcare for those periods. Firstly for both of those periods, I was one of the people being reviewed and had to provide all info they requested. To do this I allowed them to contact my child minder (first year) by phone and my childcare provider sent them a letter confirming my payments (2nd year) and for my income they looked on their tax records so it was accurate. I have now completed my renewal so all figures are updated and have written to dispute the other overpayments. Is there any chance they may change their mind? If not I am quite literally pooping myself as they have told me they only allow 3 years to repay it which will put me in a financial meltdown!
  25. I completely forgot about this and had a nasty reminder through the letterbox yesterday Total amount they say is owed would be £1980.52 and they have sold my account to Portfolio Recovery Associates UK. Forgetting the fact that I actually cant remember what I borrowed off them in January 2012, I know without question that the loan plus 1 months interest would never have been this as it is nearly double what I earn a month!!!! I have emailed them and advised that I dispute the amount claimed and that I would not be willing to pay any futher interest or charges but I dont know what to expect next. The other arrangements have all been made with the lenders directly and to be blunt until they are all finished have about £10 a month to play with for the next 6 months!
