  1. I recently had an adviser like that, at the time I was on the NEA where I did not have to provide any job search as I was preparing for my self employment. Crappy hosting service I used had a fault and I lost my web site and had to start again. Took a a printed email out from them explaining the problem but my adviser was having none of it, I knew I had 13 weeks from my business plan been approved to signing off JSA and going onto the NEA payments and I told her so. She was adamant I only had 2 more weeks and I would be put back onto JSA and job searching. I tried to explain to her and tried to show her the letter from the hosting company who messed up but she wasn't interested so I told her I would be making a formal complaint to the manager about her in writing as I wasn't happy. Got home that day and had a message on my other phone I use for JCP and it was my adviser, She had looked into the regulations and I was correct I did have 13 weeks which took me into November, She even apologised which shocked me so much as she was one of the most hated hard-face advisers there. Next signing I was moved from her caseload and given a new adviser who so far seems brilliant, Understands the problems I am under with the loss of my finished web site and seems a genuine guy, We will see though. George
  2. Hi Mcall, The missed phone call I would not worry about, Just wait for the letter from them. Its hardly your fault if you can't afford to charge your mobile phone up or it got lost or broken last week. The JSA28 is quite good and very easy to fill in as I had to fill my first one in last month, Pulled my back out moving some crap out of my cellar. I filled it in for the full 14 days allowed and my wife dropped it into the JCP on my original signing day, no breaks of any payments, For once DWP and JCP got something correct. If you have someone who can drop off your filled in JSA28 around the normal time you sign it seems to work perfect like you attended, there again it also depends on who your adviser is and if they are helpful. Loads of cold and flu bugs around this time of year, Good Luck and have a merry Xmas/New Year. George
  3. Download Malware bytes and run it, it will will remove the rubbish that's been installed. https://www.malwarebytes.org/ George
  4. Just don't sign it, How can you get a fine when they don't know who you are. I have lived at the same address for 8 years and have never filled in the forms, I just bin them Not received a fine as yet although that would also go in the bin if one came. George
  5. If paying via Direct Debit get that 5 Years of payments back. Claim through your bank that an error has occurred and you require all payments to that company back. The bank will then claim all the DD payments back for you, No need to go into loads of details, Plain and simple, an error occurred and should not have been taken. George
  6. I would personally just wait and see what the actual answer to having a pet is. If you get a no answer and you really want a pet then that would be the time to give your notice to quit. Find an alternative property that will allow you to have a pet. We have always struggle with this as we have 3 staffs and tried to move to a smaller property last year, 4 bedroom through terrace to a smaller 4 bedroom, help cut down the bills. The place was perfect, we loved it the moment we walked in, great large garden, only problem was no pets allowed and landlord would not budge when it was 3 staffs, even though they are trained and haven't chewed anything since been puppies. We lost a good house but he also lost a good tenant, End of the day its their property and some feel that pets will ruin the place, smells, damage etc.. George
  7. Sorry to give you bad news but you will find no one wants to help fund the SIA. I have been trying to get the DWP and Ingeus to fund the licence for the past 4/5 years. Explained numerous times that I would be in full time work within a week of gaining the licence, No good. Your only salvation could be if your friend could write a letter explaining you have a position as soon as you get your licence. DWP wanted a letter from an employer from me offering me job then and only then would they look into possibly help in some funding for it. My problem was that no Security company would even look at your CV if you didn't currently have an SIA so as you can guess I got zero interviews and zero chances of getting a letter of anyone. Get a letter from your friend and good luck with the DWP. George
  8. I had a problem very similar as this, Natwest. Had a £100 overdraft and a DD came in and the bank would not pay it but charged me £6 for the failed DD. Now this DD was only short by a few £s but was unpaid. They then took the £6.00 failed DD charge putting me over my limit. I complained that if they can put me over limit for themselves then why not when the DD came in. This ended up as a 6 month argument with me going to the FOS and winning, By this time my balance was over £500 overdrawn. Ended up with my account back to how it was and £100 compo. Best way if you don't have enough funds in the account is cancel the DD. Is this Natwest by any chance? If so have you signed up to their text alert service, You should be given time to cover any over limits before end of day. This is where Natwest failed me and charged me for 3 days at £6.00 per day before I knew anything about it. George
  9. Plain and simple rule now for anyone attending JCP is to take some device capable of recording audio or video and audio. Do not tell them your recording just do it, Then when they slip up trying to get a sanction to keep to their targets you have them plain and simple. The audio/video can be transcribed and used as evidence. George
  10. Just found some links, Could be good for you. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/recording_an_interview_with_a_be http://welfaretales.wordpress.com/2014/03/16/what-happened-when-she-recorded-her-jobcenter-interview/
  11. Some sound advice given here but I have a little more. When you were told to supply job search each day via email were you given a MAN letter or was this just told to you by an excuse of an adviser, Verbally. If you were not given a MAN, A direction letter, YOU don't have to supply this information via email at all and can't be sanctioned for it. How you provide your job search is down to you, I normally supplied my job search each fortnight printed out from an excel file and never had a problem. Have enclosed a copy for you so you can remove some data and add your own. Your adviser is not been reasonable or taking any of your circumstances into account. 1: I would be advising your adviser that you now only have limited internet access service so her request to provide job search via email each day is not possible and you will now supply your job search via the excel file if you have a printer on each signing day, Do not include any telephone numbers for any employers you put down. 2: Most definitely record this person when attending, All recordings can be transcribed and used as evidence if she steps out of line. 3: While it is normally easier to record in secret, with the problems your having with this adviser you best option may be to write to the manager at the JCP with a complaint about her and explaining that you want to record each and every appointment you have at the JCP, You are allowed to record your interactions with them. You will either find that this person will not want to be recorded so you will get an adviser change or if she agrees to be recorded her whole attitude towards you will change. 4: Never never give them access to your UJM account and make sure they are fully aware that they do not have your permission to contact any of the job search applications you provide, This could be implemented into your complaint letter with your request to start recording all interactions. Hope you get this sorted out as I fully understand how bad it is now when attending JCP. George Copy of my excel file I use as a template, Remove data and add your own - Never been told that it isn't good enough http://www.marshall-hosting.co.uk/jcp/jobsearch.xlsx
  12. This exercise is just to p you off and hope you will sign off. Keep all your public transport costs (bus tickets) and each day you want a refund for the costs. It use to be paid back in cash but now its a bank transfer to your bank account, Make a fuss and you will get it paid back same day via faster transfer, I had to do that myself and now its on my record that payments must be same day. I have no doubt that after 2 weeks at this you will end up going back to normal fortnightly signing as JCP can't afford £40 a fortnight for travel costs for each claimant. George
  13. If you have an android phone go to google play store and purchase the app " call recorder pro" then if you must speak to these people you at least have every conversation recorded which can be transcribed and used as evidence. Best application for recording calls. George
  14. Hi, You don't need to cancel your bank account but you must write to the bank and inform them to cancel the CPA to 100pounds.co.uk/Sunny Marketing Ltd Look in the library for the CPA letter. Once you have this letter and have informed your bank any payments they are allowed to take by your bank must be paid back. You can then write to 100pounds.co.uk / Sunny Marketing Ltd and offer them re-payment of the loan and the £15 interest only on your terms. Its very important to get the CPA letter into your bank as soon as you possibly can as most payday loan companies just keep trying the card to take payment of what they think is owing even their administration fee and could leave you with an empty bank account. George
  15. Get a PAC code off them and move to another network, Life is too short to be messed around like this. If they don't want to discuss the matter with you it shows what a bad company they really are. The debt will go to a debt collectors and on your credit file but most debt collectors are easy to get rid of. George
  16. Have seen the topcashback site when it first started but been a member of quidco I never saw reason to change. Have just had some cashback today from quidco for £65 with no messing around, Current cashback total is just £700. Maybe time to change sites guys, Have heard of the horror stories with topcashback. George
  17. I would personally ask Vodafone for my PAC code and transfer it to another company before they trash your credit file. Let them chase you for the money with their dodgy debt collectors who can be easy to get rid of. Vodafone should have something in place for customers when their usage pattern changes, from £30 a month constantly to almost £2000, certainly strange usage and should have been stopped at around the £50 mark and the customer concerned contacted. They should not be making profit from a crime. George
  18. Hi Peopod, link below for ofcom regarding the PAC code. http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/refuse_PAC George
  19. Hi Peopod, Sorry to hear about the troubles your having. One piece of advice I can give you is that Vodafone can't withhold the PAC code after you request it, There is strict rules in place now that they must give a PAC code no matter if any balance is still owing. If they don't and your number is important, shop front or business cards they will be in serious trouble and costly to them. I always though all UK networks were now in a set limit for overseas calls and a set limit of £40, Would be worth checking up. George
  20. This is absolutely crazy and although I can't help with any advice I would if it was me personally be ensuring MY funds we safe and sound no matter what any court or OR is saying. To me this would be simple: I made a loan and it was paid back as agreed before BR was even thought about. The old saying of money under the mattress comes to mind, Can't get what you don't have. George
  21. I had something similar last week. Bought a Plasma TV Wall Bracket, Claims to fit 32" - 60" with built in spirit level, Item arrived but was completely different. Boxed claimed will fit 32"-58" and no built in spirit level. Even a picture taken from the auction page and put side by side to the item I received was completely different mounting points but the seller still claimed " you got the item you ordered its the correct one". After playing email tennis on Ebay with the seller I informed him I will not be entertaining him any longer and let EBay decide the outcome, Next day I had a full refund, I had already left negative feedback. As yet hes still not got in touch for the return of his crappy bracket. George
  22. No notice at all, Went in to pay off the loan interest for the last 7 months £99.97 (extra month too), Interest was set at £12.50 per month New agreement made up (New change of ownership) and the interest rate had increased to £13.89, Only notice I got was assistant saying thats your interest and 6 months to get it out., Didn't state it was going up at all. Just priced up all our tickets and we are plainly f***** , 12 tickets between us and close to £2500 if run to term or just under £2000 to get them out now. Most of it sentimental so not something we can just let go. George
  23. As the title says. Just been to renew my pawn shop loan (gold chains) and for the first time in years at least 5 been a customer they have changed the contract and raised the interest on me. Never in 5 years has this happened, the contract is just renewed with the same terms as the original but this time they have increased the interest. I had no choice but to sign as otherwise I would have lost my gold in 2 days. Can they change the contract on me like this making me pay out more each month in interest. Interest on the original loan was set at £12.50 and now its gone up to £13.89, While its not much it all adds up over the 6 months. Anyone any ideas if this can be classed as unfair terms so I can raise the matter with the fos. My wife and I do have quite a few pledges with the same company and if this is going to happen all the time we will never be able to afford to get the gold out. Regards George
  24. Oh my , Just got a letter this morning regarding one of these visits, headed: Notification of Local Service Compliance Visit At least I have a day and set times of 9.30am to 1.30pm, Cannot give a specific time it says. Have nothing to hide so will go along depending on what information they want and after I have confirmed their identity. Video recorder to the ready...... George
  25. The good news here is that hes admitted liability for the whole debt. I would personlly refuse the monthly offer and wait for judgement and then straight to Hceo if that's possible. If like you say he has several vehicles they will be perfect for the Hceo to take or force him to get the funds together to pay you and them. Sure others will be along with how Hceo work and when you can get them involved, I think it was cheap too at only £60 charge. George
