Help !! ppi madness
clothears311 replied to clothears311's topic in Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)
Hi again, ok so I've had an update, Mbna have made an offer of; " total amount of payment protection insurance Premiums charged since sale date £1951.72" "Total amount of associated interest: £350.74" "Applicable 8% gross interest : £1215.36" (Note : UK withholding tax of £243.07 has been deducted from the 8% gross interest) Total amount payable £3274.75 can anyone please advise what to do next, I am unsure if this is a fair and accurate offer, it seems a little odd how mbna have offered this amount straight away without a fight (so am I owed more!) also the account runs from 2001 so shouldn't the " Associated interest be higher than £350.74 ! and no mention of account charges of which I know there is over £1000 worth just by adding up whats on the SAR return Also finally what is this UK withholding tax etc ! has anyone else experienced this . sorry to fire so many questions , I just need some expert advise. thank you so much again Ashley -

right , thanks for that. so am right in expecting full premiums returned and not much more. Anything else i'll be fighting in court over providing i can either get the data changed back into statements or converted into an easier reading format, both of which i'll be charged for then all this needs to go into the spreadsheet, then a comprehensive complaint made to the fos over the MBNA redress , all within 6 months !!! -
hi, are "posted credit insurance fees" the same as "payment protection cover " !! on a SAR letter. thank you.

clothears311 replied to clothears311's topic in Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)
ok thanks for your sound advise, I was just under the impression that any late charges or over limit fees on credit cards were reclaimable regardless of the ppi situation due to the excessive amounts the banks were charging. ( anything over £12.00 is it ) -

so when they send me their offer is that the case closed !! if I am not happy with it do I need to approach the fos again ! I imagine they try to sell the cheapest possible amount , and then claim the case is closed to them . sorry does anyone have a template letter to reclaim the credit card charges. thanksssssss . -

hi, wow ! what a quick response ,thank you. yes I have a applied for a SAR and have all the information they hold upon me. I do have a lot of the original statements too but sadly not all. is there a recommended spreadsheet I could use !! thanks again for your speedy reply. -
Hi everyone, I'm new to forums and not really sure how to proceed, so here goes. I have 2 mbna cc cards claims actively being processed by mbna. On both accounts the FOS advised mbna to uphold, which they have offering a" Gesture of good will payment" inline with the fos guidelines, this amount is yet to be disclosed. I have SAR for both accounts as follows; Card 1 was opened on the 2001 and closed 2011 I have added all the ppi payments together which equals £****** also charges of £***** (late / over limit) Card 2 was opened on the 2001 and closed 2007. ppi payments equal £***** and charges of £***** my question is; how do I calculate what to expect as a redress and will compound interest be added by mbna or will I have to fight for this! I have no idea what the interest rate was at the time, is there a standard rate to use! I really have no idea what would be the correct amount and would gratefully receive any advice. ( also I have not mentioned yet to mbna I plan to claim back the fee's as I only realised I could today. Any cc charge claim template letters would be great, and what can I claim for !) sorry for all the questions at once, just beginning to feel a little out my depth. thank you for any help in advance.
