  1. Hi guys

     

    My wife has a phone on contract with Virgin Mobile (Galaxy S5) and has had no issues up until recently for the past 6 weeks she has been restricted on numerous occasions what has happened is she recently changed her number as she was getting alot of spam messages and calls so they actually sent her a new sim card and promised a new number and her tarrif would be swapped over.

     

    So she received the new Sim popped it into her phone and obviously thought her tarriff would be there and started using it as normal up until again her phone was restricted and when she phoned up they said she has excessive usage of £237.99 which eventually was credited back as it was a mistake on there end for not moving the tarriff over to the new sim card, what has annoyed her the most this constantly happens where the tarriff is there but a futher £112 has gone on top of the bill totalling it to £349 for an unlimited VIP tarriff at £32 a month.

     

    This has been taken high up to the CEO office to deal with but there just as much use as the customer service and she is now worried about setting up a direct debit again until all is rectified but again yesterday they restricted her phone for not setting up the direct debit

     

    What rights do we have here as shes thinking about asking them to release her out of contract due to the hassle shes having at the moment.

     

    What annoys me the most is im a Network Engineer at Virgin Media and my thoughts on Virgin as a company go from bad to worse everytime this happens

  2. Statuatory Sick Pay does not pay much im afraid espically to live off

     

    Just been careful what you do when you eventually go back to work as alot of employers who think about themselves look at every little way to get rid of you without breaking the law for example

    mistakes

    absences

     

    i hate companys like that but thats how it is im afraid i was in the same boat myself many years ago threatned with my job when i had an injury in there work place 3 weeks i was signed off for and my boss kept getting one of his collegues to do the dirty work for him, after 4 months they made me redundant i know i was sacked for something little but now i work for virgin media and done miles better for myself on a job what pays at least 800 pound a month more than they did

    Many thanks for your kind replys some great information there, I have seen a template maker for grievance letter on Citizens advice website, it give me 4 boxes with questions and when i clicked finish it made a great letter for me to send to my HR department which looked very proffesional with some great words used.

     

    Will send it over tommorow recorded delivery and will post up my success (i hope)

  4. Hi guys

     

    i work for a company who look after the virgin media contract,

     

     

    i am working at the moment over 70 hours a week which is tiring me out to be honest,

     

     

    i have a family and have very little time for myself or my kids you keep telling them about it in the nicest way possible even though its hard to keep your cool sometimes and they take Sh*t all on aboard what i have to say.

     

    I am on template pay (pay per job) now i can make some decent money when i get the big jobs like quad's, triples and duals.

     

    But lately ive been finishing my own work by 3pm ready for home and i always seem to get lumbered with other peoples because they simply cannot keep up or had worse problems than myself in the day i never seem to get any help my way when im struggling and all my manager can say is swings and round abouts, seems to be enough swings but no round abouts my way.

     

    My biggest concern is the pay im owed, i am missing money from June, August, September and October and when i keep submitting my wage query's i hear nothing back this goes on for months and up to this day i still have not received any money im owed.

     

    I have joined the cable workers union but obviously want to the company to rectify this problem first without involving the union, a lad i work with has also submitted a grievance to the HR of the company and said they are looking into it he has told me to look on google for the template letter regarding pay but not having any luck

     

    could anyone be so kind to point me into the right direction and is there any law to me doing more than 12 hours a day can i refuse to work after 12 hours ?

  5. I stupidly took a loan out with these in September to help pay with an unexpected bill i thought it would be ok as i was due a cheque in the post which annoyingly bounced therefore i am now stuck.

     

    I borrowed £150 off them and am currently out of work so after finding out the cheque bounced i tried to set up the minimum on a payment plan with them but they are not having any of it, they now have added over £150 of charges on to the account and keep telling me i have to prove to them i am out of work etc i have no proof but they will not take my word for it, I am really annoyed they have decided to double the loan and won't remove the interest added or charges

     

    Today i received a letter from them stating if i dont settle the debt it will be sold to a DCA who will add £25 and if i fail to contact them a further £25 to be added.

     

    All i want is a payment plan set up temporary and the interest and charges removing so i can orginally pay back what i owe they also bombard me with emails and telephone calls this can range from 9am to 8pm at night

     

    any advice please

  6. Hi guys

     

    I took a loan out with Wonga last year and then came out of work after i paid at least 40% of the loan back as that's all i could afford after i got my redundancy pay with other commitments.

     

    So they referred my debt to Mckenzie Hall DCA and they did nothing but hassle me with letters and bombard me with phone calls until i downloaded an app and blocked there calls full stop.

     

    Then i started receiving about 3 or 4 letters a fortnight with court action blah blah.

     

    So i emailed McKenzie Hall and told them im out of work here is a copy of my JSA Agreement all your getting is £1 a month until i return to work, sadly i am still out of work and kept up the payments until something comes along then ill increase my payment to clear the loan.

     

    I heard nothing for about 9 months until 22nd November 2013 with a letter now from Portfolio Recovery Associates so again now im going through all this hassle of chasing there sort code and account number as they have told me to continue paying the payment plan, i shouldnt have to mess around like this as now this is the 3rd time Wonga has gave this debt to someone else to recover and im getting sick and tired of it.

     

    Also 9 months ago Wonga offered me a £500 settlement figure which i said was fine and asked if they could reduce the debt to that and id continue to make payments and i would settle it once obtained employment they basically shrugged off my email and when i went higher up to the CEO they said they had no records of this email being sent to me sadly i lost my email account after cancelling my virgin media services so had no solid evidence to support it

     

    what is the purpose of these Payday Firms keep changing there recovery companies do i sense something fishy ?

  7. i bought a phone for £198 from simply electronics thinking it looked genuine

     

    when i placed my order all looked fine,

     

    email acknowledgements the lot was sent,

     

    then tonight i looked into my order history and it comes up you have no orders in your history,

    also checked the pending orders and nothing in there also

     

    After doing some research i find endless negative reviews about these bunch of hong kong rip off merchants,

     

    I have no idea how the hell this company is still going

     

    Post and Post saying people are having there money taken and nothing being delivered to them

     

    i want my money back,

     

    what is the best way

     

    who can i complain to and

     

    will my bank refund me in full if i can prove its a [problem].

  8. Hi

     

    Few months ago i borrowed a loan to pay for my car as it was in the garage and needed the extra cash to pay for it as i rely on it for work, i have always had loans not with payday firms but with banks etc, Last month i came out of work due to redundancy and still waiting on my redundancy money from the firm i worked for for 10 years.

     

    Obviously now i have screwed my credit rating but thats the last thing on my mind, i borrowed £150 off these idiots back in May and made contact with them as soon as i received my redundancy letter which was in the middle of May i had no reply off these people whats so ever i have emailed dozens of times and still no response off them, 4 weeks later this person called Zen Young kept pestering me by text message and email until i give him a mouthful which he didnt like and told him its not the fact your chasing the money its the fact your now emailing me with threats after i gave you plenty of time about my current situation.

     

    He told me to fill out and I&E which i glady did and only offered the minimum until i land back on my feet as now i can only claim JSA and all that goes on bills.

     

    I filled that out 3 weeks ago and heard nothing off him emailed them a further two or three times and still they do not respond.

     

    I have always been told only speak to them by email, i feel that i am getting no where with these cow boys they ring me about 4 or 5 times a day spam my phone with text messages

     

    here is the last 3 i received.

     

    They claim that they want to help you but actually make your life 10x harder with all the grief you get.

     

    Are they allowed to just send a collection agent to your door without sending it to a DCA first ?, i feel i would get more sense and a response out of a DCA

     

    Is there anyone i can complain to as i now sick and tired of threats and constant phone calls and text messages, i have tried my part they dont seem to cooperate.

    i just recently started my job as a residential installation tech for virgin media and i am on quiet decent pay 15,816 per annum starting. My partner works as a veterinary nurse on £1100 a month after tax so roughly we both come out with £2200 a month after tax between us.

     

    Today my partner phoned them to ask them about the situation with Nursery fee's what help would we get now we both work.

     

    They told us that our WTC will be stopped completly and CTC has gone down to £56 a week

     

    When we asked about nursery fees we was told we are not entitled to it when my partner asked about why no WTC and CTC has dropped drastically they claimed its now because i work.

     

    I always thought they was a year behind when my partner asked this as i was on JSA for a full year and she was on maternity leave at the start of the new 2012 tax year they said oh we have taken your predicted earnings this year into account therefore you are not entitled to WTC and £56 a week on CTC i think this is ridiculous and i should be able to appeal against this

     

    End of the day i know 2200 a month is alot of money between us but it doesnt go far when you have to fork out nearly £600 a month on nursery fees and you have all your other bills aswell as your rent on top.

Ok so for the past 8 days ive had signal loss issues few times in the day which also results in my recordings failing when i check to why it says signal loss, i emailed sky the first day it happened and has no reply from them also tried to get in contact on there phone number but says not available some big maintenance work going on at the moment.

     

    Ive basically had enough i could be in the middle of watching something on tv and the signal will just drop sometimes for a couple of hours, also the broadband is awful, i keep getting oops sorry your modem appears to be offline when i click get back online button nothing happens

     

    basically had enough and thinking of ****ing this whole thing off and going elsewhere i am paying these £60 a month for what, a dropped service every day.

     

    Is there anyway to get out of this contract with an early termination fee also what ombudsman do sky use and i want to appeal this as they use BT for there engineers which are by far the worst people i have ever dealt with the first time my broadband wasnt touching 3mb

  11. Ok had cash genie constantly phoning me day and night every day.

     

    I have blocked 2 or 3 numbers using an android app i have but they seem to have a large variety of numbers they like to call off, constant threat texts aswell stating charges of £27.50 to be added and 40+ plus for a letter to be sent out, these people are really irritating me now ive emailed them twice and they don't even bother replying to me

    My boiler broke last night and more than likely will need a new one

     

    my question is is the boiler boiler scheme still going if your on JSA and have a child who is only 1

     

     

    Our gas was sealed off last night by national grid as our monoxide alarm had kept going off over the last few days

     

    i also have problems with the boiler anyway

     

    1. Manual having to light it

    2. Pressure always dropping

    3. have to turn the gas outlet off on the boiler and turn it back on for it to light

    4. Radiators sometimes dont go off until i reset the boiler

     

    its a combi boiler and has it for about 8 years but from what ive been told going to cost me a fortune to get it all fixed and was told to try the scheme or buy a new boiler but a new boiler i cannot afford at the minute

  13. Ok so write a letter to my bank stating that if such and such of company tries to request money from my account then do not authorize this transaction as a payment plan is in place ?

     

    I have tried emailing them several times but they keep on saying i need ot provide proof that i am on JSA. Yes it would be a minimum payment untill i can settle full time employment but these people still insist on proof.

    I am wanting to set up a repayment plan with a payday loan but worried they will start taking my money i need out of my account which covers food etc as im only on JSA.

     

    I phoned lloyds and cancelled my debit card but this company also has my sort code and account number

     

    if i cancelled my card will they still be able to remove money from my account ?

     

    I already have my new card does this mean if they sent me a new card the old card will no longer work ? :mad2:

     

    Also these search engine lenders have passed my card details on to other companies which have taken like £1, 90p etc from my account and signed me up to daily deals.

     

    Now i have cancelled my card will this also stop them taking money ?

  15. One last thing

     

    I cancelled my debit card they have on file to stop them taking money out of my account i dont have. Even though they have my sort code and account number can they still take money out of my account ? reason i ask is on the day i repay my loan my jsa goes into my account last thing i want is them to take it then i cant afford my bills and then feed myself

     

    I also have a tax rebate for £50 but that will have to go to pay my arrears on my water bill would it be safe to put it into my lloyds account

     

    lloyds is my main bank which i use all the time and cash genie had my old debit card details.

  16. Yeh they sound reasonable but i cant afford to pay it really so it would have to temporary be £1 a month until further notice as i just have enough for my bills and to feed myself with only being on JSA

     

    I just hope they dont start taking advantage of me by sticking £100's of pounds interest then it gets out of control.

     

    I will email them and ask them to set up a payment plan for 30th of the month

    I have a lloyds account and a halifax

     

    Halifax has never been used but i have a pin number and a card with them

     

    I recently cancelled my lloyds card which cash genie have

     

    i now have a new card number are they still able to take money from my account ?

     

    Im sure if i give them plenty of notice and make them aware of my situation they may be able to freeze interest, and avoid letters so i can set up a payment plan.

    I took out a £300 loan from this pay day company thinking i would of had no issue paying it back but appears now i have run into a bit of a snag.

     

    The interest was £90 so my repayment date is 390 on 31st May 2013.

     

    I borrowed this for an emergency as my nan lives down south

    and wanted to be at her side as she has cancer so

     

    i took out this loan to cover my petrol expenses, accommodation, food etc

    i had a cheque in the post last week for £2000 but the cheque bounced and now im in abit of bother,

    Its only a matter of time before they stick £45 letter fees, £15 late payment fee's on top etc

     

    Im just worried is going to get out of hand i dont mind setting up a payment plan

    but i can only afford the minimum as i lost my job last month due to redundancy with company going into administration
