It's just the Hardtop I've had to sell on.

I recently bought a car privately (Honda S2000) which came with a hardtop. During the sale I never got the chance to take the hardtop off as it started raining and didn't want to get the car wet inside. I purchased the car on the promise that the softop was fine with no leaks. The next day whilst cleaning the car inside I notice there was an Orange ratchet strap on either side of the hardtop connecting to the seat subframes. I text the person I bought the car off asking what they were for and he replied " Those are rachet straps. Previous owner installed them as he said the original fixings were blowy and didnt give a proper seal." Yet he told me he's taken the hardtop off before saying "The only time i had the hard top off was when it rained bad to test it." So he obviously knew there was not the "Fitting kit" on the car that secures the Hardtop to the car securely and Safely. The only reason I bought his car is because it came with the hardtop but now I've had to sell it as I can't afford £400+ on a fitting kit and am not driving with Hardtop not secured properly to the car as I feel this would be unsafe as the Hardtop would only be held down with those straps which were secured to the hardtop locking handle and the car seat subframe! Oh and the wheels that came with the car were also unsafe as they were rubbing the arches and cutting into the tyres therefore I've had to buy a new set of wheels and tyres. Now my question is... Can I claim any money's back as I believe I was mid-sold the car.
