  1. Yes , I do owe the money. I am not sure there was PPI on the account. I did lost my job in 2008 and notified MBNA about that. When i got a job later in 2010 i called MBNA and made some small payment about £50. I never heard from MBNA again. Until later last year when i started receiving letters from Aktiv. There is no dispute on the account but i think there is unfair treatment since the debt was sold without letting me know. I knew the company that it had been sold to earlier i would hv made contact to make payment arrangement.
  2. Thanks for your response. I have checked my credit file and the default date was 30/1/2010. I don not know when the debt was sold and did not also receive any notifcation from MBNA that my account has been sold. I did however receive lettersometime ago fro Aktiv that they are the new account holders. Can you help me with the follwoing questions;1) Do i need to request information from MBNA or Aktiv or both for my defense and how do i draft such letter.2) how long does it take to get such information from MBNA or AKtiv?ThanksRasTim

The amount being claimed is £6000. I got the credit card in 2006 and had defaulted since 2010. Find below partculars of the claim; The claimant purchased debt from the following MBNA POINTS. The debt is regulated by by the consumer credit act 1974. Default notice were served in accordance with section 87 (1) of the Act but the defendenant has failed to pay the sume due. The claimant therefore claims the sum of £6000. What question is where do i start to defend myself. The claim form is dated 27/03/2013 but received it yesterday ie 03/04/2013. Which date do i use to calculate the 14 days i need to respond. I also intend to extend it to 28days. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
