  1. Hi, thanks for taking time to reply. The rent is actually higher that the shared LHA allowance of £60 in this area. Such an unfair system. Noted about license to occupy, just the council need rent book and this one seemed to fit! Will look further, again thanks.
  2. I am resident landlord and have tenant on AST who shares premises and has own bedroom. Tennant has successfully claimed housing benefit, rent only, as per rent book. Tenant pays me his half of council tax. He cannot claim council tax benefit as I am the responsible person to pay the council tax. If the council says he does not pay/not liable for council tax then I must be able to claim the 25 percent discount for single occupancy/disregarded person? If they wont allow that, then that means they are saying he does pay council tax! yet will not allow HB council taxpart of claim. It seems unfair as if this was a council tenancy the council tax would be included in HB payment? Is this correct? This is very unfair on the low income tenant.
  3. Hi, Anyone else had this happen to them? Am more than annoyed that they have just done this. This is what Ihave sent them, comments welcome. There must be some form of redress. thanks Doug Good Morning, I have noticed that the telephone line to my property (as below) has been removed by yourselves. Please confirm this. Can you also indicate why you failed to get my permission to do this and to trespass on my property without consent. The fact I am looking at broadband packages when my Virgin account ends is even a further annoyance. This would mean additional costs of putting the line back rather than just activate an already existing line. As it was myself who had the phone installed when I moved in, at my expense, then I feel that your removal of this is unjustified. I would ask that you refund the cost of installation which I paid to have to line installed. I would also ask that any code of practice breach by yourselves should have a penalty payment as well
  4. Update: This person/ID does exist. Just that I need 30 messages to use message system. He works for carillion and has both facebook and twitter accounts for disgruntled customers! I'll add this from the website of carillion which does in fact detail how customers are charged for missed appointments both for users here and Mr carillion! Boiler Servicing Terms & Conditions This agreement is between us, Carillion Energy Services Limited (company number 3858865 and whose registered office is at 24 Birch Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 4HY) and you, the customer who has purchased from us a boiler service (as defined in the “Definitions” section below). and section 8. 8.2 We will re-confirm the appointment with you at least 24 hours before the appointment. If we are unable to gain access to your home at any agreed appointment time (including any rescheduled appointment), we will deduct from your service fee a missed appointment fee of £30 (including VAT). We will make two attempts by telephone and one by letter to contact you to arrange an alternative appointment. If you do not respond within 10 working days of this letter, we will refund by cheque posted to your home address the balance of the service fee due to you (after deduction of the missed appointment fee) and will be under no further obligation to attempt to contact you, or to provide any services to you under this agreement. 8.3 If you wish to rearrange your boiler service following a missed appointment, you must pay the missed appointment fee of £30 (including VAT) before we will make another appointment.
  5. HI Thanks for reply and prompt at that. I have this e-mailed to me but can't seem to find a message or reply for this: Is this for real! JamieCarillion has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Carillion Boiler Service. No show appointment, what compensation? - in the Utilities - Gas, Electricity, Water forum of The Consumer Forums. Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** Hi Portunus. Really sorry about this: send me a private message on here with your details in, or DM me on twitter (@removed by me) and I'll get my guys onto it. We don't charge Customers anything if they miss an appointment and we never have: I'm curious to know where you read that? Jamie.
  6. Have a contract with them to look after boiler/central heating. Annual service feb 25th. Engineer said new heat exchanger needed. Part should be here within one week, but declined that the boiler be drained until fix. 10 days no response. Unable to get through on phone line so emailed them. Phone call next day engineer here Thurs 14th march. Guess? No show, no calls, nothing. Emailed again and reply by phone today 15th march. Will be here Monday 18th march. Asked about compensation, nothing to do with carillion! despite carillion van and engineer last time. I note that they charge you 30 Pounds if you miss an appointment. What level of compensation should I be entitled too? I'd say their charge of missed appt of 30 Pounds and what value of whole day of 8 hours? Or a month or two direct debits refunded? Any one else find Carillion dire? Thanks all
