  1. Its a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Model, thanks for this information. I never was much use at cars, but the people on here know their stuff
  2. Thank you very much for this ninformation, I thought that Jeep were the only people who could carry out a diagnostic check on my grand Cherokee
  3. thank you for this guys name, dunecht 4x4 is a garage, but my car had to go to Jeep, as nobody else can do the diagnostics
  4. I have complained to Arnold clark fiat/ jeep uk. scottish motor trade association, but nobody has replied, I cannot just take my car, as they would have the police on to me, they do not seem to be bothered about me or my car, WHY ?, I have never been cheeky on the phone, I know not to do that as my car is in their hands, they keep fobbing me off with excuses, I do not know why they are doing this, it is really getting me down, and the wife too
  5. Thank you thats the way I had it in my documents, but when I posted it on here it came out as one big paragraph, thanks again
  6. as I said before , I have never been on a forum, what I wrote on the forum is just a record of events that are happening at the moment, and I wanted to tell the whole story as it has unfolded, I know what you mean and it is appreciated, but I have had this in my documents and I just copied it and pasted it on here, thanks for telling me this
  7. I am new to forums, and I am new to the experience that I will describe below, I am at my wits end, has anyone got advise for me, thank you...Hi there, My Jeep Grand Cherokee became immobile at the end of January 2013. I phoned Jeep Aberdeen on Friday 1/02/13 , based at, Aquithie Road, Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, AB51 5PD. They told me to get the car recovered to them and they would look at it, I also booked an MOT at the same time. I got the car recovered to them ( which was not cheap, because of the distance involved) on the morning of Tuesday 5th Feb. I phoned to see if they received the car, and yes, they had, and they said that they would look at it. I phoned the next day, they were busy, so they phoned me back, and they said they did not have time to look at my car. Since then I have phoned several times, always to be told that I would be phoned back. And now it is Thursday14th Feb,( I have not phoned them since the morning of Mon 10th Feb) and I have still not heard about any work being done on my car. I am in a catch 22 situation, they are the only Jeep service dealers in Aberdeen, my car is immobile at their garage, and I cannot seem to get any answers when I phone. (The car seems to be losing feed to the starter, it was starting and cutting out, but, then it did not start), that is what was happening before I put it into Jeep service. I have been without my car for over two weeks, it has cost me a lot of anguish, ( I have taken 3 heart attacks in the past), I cannot seem to get any answers from Jeep Aberdeen. All I want is some sort of answer about what is wrong with my car, and when it will be repaired. Someone phoned me from Jeep / Aberdeen on the Thursday afternoon14/02/12 and told me that my car needed a 2 part intrusion module, and he quoted a £900 price tag, to repair my car, I said that was ok, he said that he would get it done for me, then it would be an MOT after the car was running again. I was happy that they were actually doing something to my car after so long. I phoned Jeep/Aberdeen again on Monday afternoon 18/02/12, to see how my car was getting on, the first person that I got, put me on hold for about 10 minutes, then I was cut off, so I phoned again about half an hour later, and the person that I got said that they would put me through to service, when she did, a recorded message came on stating that there was nobody there at the moment to answer my call, please leave a message, so I left my name/ phone number, but nobody phoned back. My brother in law ( he also has a Jeep Grand Cherokee) who stays beside the Jeep garage said that he would go along and see what was happening with my car. he said that the girl he saw was not helpful at all, she said that they had to send away to America for the part needed to repair my Jeep. My brother in law asked her why they did not inform me about having to send away for the part to repair my Jeep, and he asked her if she could phone me to inform me about this, she just said to him, I'll do it if I have the time,( great customer service), he was not impressed at all with her reply (he said her name was Fiona) She never phoned me. Now I am just going to wait till my car is ready, as all the hassle from Jeep Aberdeen is getting me down, as I said earlier I am in a catch 22 situation, because they are so far away from where I live and I cannot get there very easily, I have no option....I have never been rude on the phone, on the contrary, I have been nice, all I wanted to know is, when my car will be ready for me. When you put your car into a garage, you expect to be informed by that garage as to how they are dealing with your repairs, and not have to phone them all the time. I am very sad about the way things have progressed with my car, That's over 2 weeks they've had my car now. Oh it's hard without your car. Jeep Aberdeen phoned me at my home on the afternoon 21/02/13. they told me my car was all ready for me to pick it up,( that part from America that they needed to fix my Jeep, must have arrived by rocket express) although they could not give me a price for the work carried out. I phoned my brother in law , who lives not far from the garage, and he said that he would come in for me and take me out for it, which he did do, as the garage is about 15 miles + outside Aberdeen. when we arrived at the garage, they informed me that they were just doing the MOT on my jeep,( they had forgotten that my car was also in for an MOT, as well as a repair) and I would have to wait around an hour. We went back to my brother in laws house to wait, and I phoned the garage after the hour was up, only to be told that my car needed ball joints and wiper blades to pass its MOT, and they still could not give me a price for the work to be carried out, I told them just to go ahead and do the work, but they stated that the work would not be carried out that day. My brother in law had to take me home to Aberdeen at rush hour, I felt terrible, especially after them telling me that my car was ready, and to come and collect it. I will wait until tomorrow 22/02/13 as they said that they would phone me in the morning, but something inside me says that they won't do it. The girl did phone me on the morning of 22/02/13, she was a nice person, she told me that my car would not be ready until Wed 27/02/13 another 5 days that makes it 3 weeks + that they have had my car. When I asked for a price for the work done on my car she quoted £2061, I was amazed/ stunned. I said to her that when the person phoned me on Thursday 14/02/13, he stated that I would be £900 all in, including vat, labour, etc, everything for the intrusion module to be fitted and that was the final price for that, that's why I said to go ahead and do the job, but in the final invoice the figure that I was charged was £1400 + for this work. I am not happy. I am in fact very angry about the way I was treated by Jeep Aberdeen, customer services is almost a non starter( apart from a couple of nice mannered girls that I got on the phone), the time it has taken them to repair my car is ridiculous, and the money charged for the work carried out is amazing.....A man phoned me from Jeep /Aberdeen on the morning of 25/02/13, he said that there was a mistake when calculating my repairs, and the figure was now £1315.91, for everything done to my car, he said that they counted something twice when they were calculating the costs, he was a very nice chap, and he said that they were sorry for the error. The figure he stated , was almost £750 less that the figure they said the final cost was first time. I knew that they had made a mistake, but what can you do, they have your car, they hold all the power. he stated that my car would be ready on the afternoon, of 26/02/13. I phoned at 1.45 pm on the afternoon of 26/02/13 to see if my car was ready for me, and the girl said, hold on, and before I knew it, she was gone, she had put me through to someone else, but when she did this, an answer machine came on stating that nobody was available to take my call, please leave a message, I left my phone number, but nobody has got back to me yet...oh the pain Is this fiasco never going to end. I phoned them again, half an hour later, only to be put through to someone else, who had to get through to someone else, who eventually told me that , someone would phone me back, ( no I have not made this up, everyone is passing the buck), it seems like, " let's have fun with Mr Algie today ". Eventually a nice girl phoned me and she said that my car had been repaired, but there was something wrong with the MOT machines, and they had to wait to put my car through an MOT again after the repairs carried out on it, aaaggghhh!!!. This company is one of the largest in the U.K., and I have never had an experience like this at any garage that I have ever put my car into for repairs. To sum up.... And now they have lost a customer, who, if things had been handled better by them would have carried on being a customer of theirs, but it seems as though their motto is, "there are plenty more fish in the sea"I will get rid of my Jeep Grand Cherokee, rather than be held to ransom by the only Jeep service in Aberdeen, I will make my views be heard on every Arnold Clark/ Jeep UK. review that there is on the internet, and I will do everything in my power to try to stop the same thing happening to other people like myself. I am retired now, and I have the time to do this. thank you and kind regards... algiebugs
