  2. Yes when she took the previous car they put an extra 2000 onto the new agreement because of the old car
  3. It's a citroen c2 2010 probably about 3000 if she was lucky
  4. Hi this was 2012 this all happened as she's only just found out that it's a personal loan aft3r trying to return the car.the settlement figure is over 4000.
  5. Hi I need some advice please my niece purchased a car on finance from chappelhouse. She had the car a few years and upgraded to a newer car in 2012, she presumed and was under the impression that the car was again on car finance. After signing the papers for the new car she had a change of heart before she was due to collect the new car. She went into the branch who told her no she couldn't change her mind now and the car was hers, they'd gone and paid her finance agreement off and put her on a personal loan through barclays for the car. Being a young lady on her own in the shop she thought that was it and she couldn't do anything about the situation. As the advisor even threatened her with the police just because she no longer wanted the car ! She'd had nothing but trouble with this company all she wanted to do was hand the car back to them as she thought it was on a finance agreement, as in some agreements you can hand the car back after paying for so many years. any help or advice is much appreciated as she's unable to hand the car back dup to chapel house changing it to a personal loan and if she sells the car she wouldn't make enough to cover the remaining loan.
  6. Thanks for all the advice. Panic over it was an administration error and is being sorted out. Phew !!
  7. Hi no everything is above board on that side they are definitely ligit I was just wondering where it leaves us will text solicitors be the ones liable for the funds or us
  8. Hi not sure if this is the right place to post this we currently sold our property and completed on the 14th March. Our solicitor paid our old mortgage and a loan we had from the sale of our house the same day the sale completed. Only now both companies are saying they have not received any funds from the solicitor!! Solicitors are saying they have confirmation they money was telegraphic transfered on the 14th. What happens now ?? As technically we still owe a mortgage and a loan even though the solicitor has paid the money over to them. All help welcome
  9. Hi just a little advice please, we are currently in the middle of selling our house which we had valued at 140, 000 from when it went on we had a viewer every week we dropped the price to 135000 as we wanted a quick sale after finding our dream home. We currently have a buyer who knocked us down to 130000 and also asked us to pay half their stamp duty which we agreed to as we didn't want to loose the buyer or our dream home. They have now had a home buyers survey done which has told them that our house needs a new front door and frame ?? Guttering needs replacing and our conservatory needs replacing or knocking down. The buyer has been to see the house twice before they offered and I do agree the guttering needs replacing and also the conservatory ( wooden frame single payne ) Needs the frames and roof replacing and this is clearly visible. But considering I have already been knocked down over 5000 and I cannot go any lower as we would not be able to purchase the house we want. Does this make me sound unreasonable not budging on price as my thinking is the buyer seen the house twice before offering and haggled us down quite some.
  10. Hi thanks for everyones advice, I now have the conclusion now the ombudsman has given them ( payplan ) 2 weeks they have agreed to pay the remainder of the debt and also 150 compensation. Ombudsman has also told them to get my credit report altered too so another win for the little people !! Never give up and never take no for and answer
  11. We are going to try the route of just my partner with this new broker as he seems to have access to a bigger panel so will keep you all updated and keep you fingers n toes crosses pls
  12. Update - fos are upholding my complaint and are awaiting a response from payplan Slick 123 I owed approx 2100 to barclaycard and was fortunate that a family member wants to help me out to repay all my debt but could only give me certain amount. I had about 7 debtors some minor approx 150 and a couple larger like barclays. Payplan knew I only had a certain amounts of £ s so they proceeded to get settlement figures. Every debtor gave a figure apart from barclays who gave a percentage there willing to accept. Payplan then worked out the wrong percentage somehow confirmed the figure to me which worked out with how much money I had to repay. It was tgen months of my going back and forth to payplan and barclays with statements saying I owed a balance still and payplan saying no you dont leave it with us ? Eventually someone looked into the matter in depth at payplan and realised the error they had made, they then admitted this in writing and said they would pay the outstanding arrears but not the balance of approx 800. O and for all stress caused they would give me £25 ( how nice of them im sure this would cover a small portion of the premium numbers I had to call trying to sort this mess out NOT). I took this matter to the fos who have now said there upholding my complaint we await a reply by next Wednesday
  13. Hi we asked them to appeal which they have and they have still said no its due to me having a notice of correction that I put on there. We have since spoken to another mortgage broker that has suggested just doing it in my partners name as he said it has been accepted in principal with a high street lender ?? As we pass the affordability with just my partner so were consideringntaking this route with this broker instead opinions pls x
  14. The notice of correction is just explaining my circumstances back in 2006 which led to me going onto a debt management company and that my debts have now been settled. We didn't wait due to finding our dream home and getting a buyer for our own
