  1. Here is a real must and has proven invaluable to us in one court case and in the above instance. If you can get your hands on a copy do so, it's a must for all drivers. The Driver's Survival Handbook (7th Edition 2007) by Martin Thwaite, ISBN 0-9541187-3-1. It tells you what every driver must know. So as the book say's protect your liscence before it's too late. some really good tips
  2. OMG!! Something else I should of done today whilst in the bank got a charge back onto my Debit Card done that before today. Will do that tommorow!!
  3. Simply as Parcel Monkey has taken payment via my Debit Card and if they are not providing the 'paid' service then they should re-fund me my money and return my goods back to me. Or they are in contravention of the 'Distance selling Act.' And The Financial Ombudsman do what their name states...'Financial' they can contact the company and find out why they have taken my money and not provided the service they should be doing!!
  4. On the 12 March we sent a parcel of 8 kgs to a frien whom lives in Oxford. We decided to look for a cheaper option other than Royal Mail whom wanted a small fortune for an 8 Kg box as you can imagine, the books some where quite heavy. We found a company on-line called ParcelMonkey and entered in our box diamentions and weight, paid they said collection would be on the 12 March, luckily that day we where both at home all day...No courier from ParcelMonkey came to collect the box??? It was at this point I smelled a rat and decided to contact the Financial Ombudsman the following day 13 March but the courier turned up and took the box stating that he had only recieved the message to collect on the 13 March. Hmmmm Wait for it...It's now the 17 March granted a Sunday but we will give until tommorow the 18 March and contact the FO I have entered into a dialogue with the company but it's platitudes and when I got smart with them they became obtuse. I told them I would enter into no further dialogue with them. Anyone have any ideas what would be a good next step? They have debited my account and have our box with £70 worth of books in. The 'tracker' on their website shows the box as 'In transit'. It is not going to the north pole only oxford it was due to be delivered Friday 15 March but they failed to deliver!!! I have heard some bad tales about this company and am really peeved by them and their blase, could-not-care-less attitude.:-x:-x
  5. The only thing that comes to mind and we should all consider is as cold and hard as it might be then shop elsewhere. I have been on the end of something similar but with a friend of my husband and he would give me flowers, cards if I seemed the least bit upset and it really creeped me out! Even though I have known him I wondered if he was getting romantic attachements or feelings, and that was purely wrong. Our relationshiop was based on friendship and it had boundary's attached that should not be crossed. You must of really gave the girl cause for concern for her to report the incident and the Supermarket must of felt that there was some kind of threat warranted enough for them to warn you off. My hubby god love him did not see my point of view that his mate was creeping me out he thaught nievely it was sweet of him and I should be grateful for the gifts.....But, uh oh, no the line has to be drawn somewhere and instead of levying your resentment and frustration at the Supermarket then put yourself in that lady's shoes, and I don't know the case personally but can tell you based on how I felt that is this....She felt you where getting attached or too friendly and that you where persuing her or she was afraid you would not leave her alone....It took all my strength and might to get my hubby to see my point of view and warn his friend off! Now the guy looks at me from a distance and is sheepish around me...I don't care as long as he get's my signals I am giving him every time we meet....Back off pal, your attention is unwaranted and unwanted. Go creep someone else out! And he gets it. You should be thinking how the girl feels in this instance. PS. The 'friend' of my husband does have mental health issues and whilst allowances where made in the beginning for that then this has to stop and the lines drawn so he can understand and learn. He has tried this sort of thing in the past and did come unstuck but this time it is a lot closer to home, especially with the friendship and he being my husbands God brother. People no matter whom or what they suffer should be treated the same as everyone else. PC brigade or not. I felt really uncomfortable and it put a great strain on me and my husband as I would not go to functions or be any where near this person. Even after being told by my hubby to stay away and give me space, no gifts or flowers he did approach me and I told him to sod-off in the most strongest terms I could express. Thank God he got the message.
  6. PS...That's 2 Cases we have won so far! One with Euro parking euuughh, the other was an official Speeding camera with the police. That was something like a Carry-on film in court. We walked that one too.
  7. I am so happy! Here is the story, brace yourseves! Me & the significant other half and a friend decided that one Sunday afternoon we would go to Liverpool Airport for lunch and a basic chill-out and watch the planes. Ha! Never got that far! As we approached the airport we where 'forced' from a two lane road to a single file road with no way of turning off, ahead of us we where deliberately ushered by way of single road and traffic into a High rise car park on our right and a long-stay one directly ahead. There where NO signs telling you how to drive out should we not wish to park, signs did not direct us to a way-out we where stuck. we decided to pull over in the main car park so my hubby could get out and go over and read the signs to see how we got out of this maze! He was flumoxed came back I got out had a look could not see where to get out.. ..We stood there (not causing any obstruction at all) It was terrible. Then a white van came over and the guy was quite rude we told him we did not want to park but where forced into the car park by the single road with no slip-road to allow you to leave should you not wish to proceed to park. He told us how to get out and we thought no more about it. Until 3 weeks later we got a parking letter it looked like one the police send you with photos and our vehicle registration showing ha I knew they could not enforce this as it was not legal in the eyes of the law and was a matter of parking on private land so it was my wits against theirs. I aint having none of this crap from them. I got in touch with I cannot remember the name but there is a company whom regulates operator's of car parks ...Similar to how the Ombudsman operates. I told them the problems we had and how we where 'forced' into the car park via the single road and bollards and high raised kerbs etc etc. They took note of the time and date and my complaint. I told them I was quite raw about how they administer their tickets to easily and try to frighten you into paying by copying the Police and authority's letter with photos and official like wording. I was not fooled at all! Then I wrote a letter to the car park company Euro whatever, that is how much esteem I had for them but I found out the G.M name and adress and sent it to him direct with the letter/ticket, telling him see you in court. I have photos and will embarass you. I am not paying so keep wasting your own time and money. Sort it out because you will end up paying court costs at the end of the day. That was it, of course I worded it official like with all the relevant pomp and waited for a response! 4 day's later I recieved an appology letter stating the ticket was cancelled and no further action was being taken against me and that was the end of the matter... Ha ha! Sucess, so the moral is. Don't accept what they state go to the top and give them the grief, be like a bloody wasp and pester them the hierarchy not the ones in the call centre you will get no-where with them just platitudes and or arrogance.. . If I can do it you can too Good luck.
  8. Hiya Loobyloo45 The problem being is this, I had a pal whom had the exact same problem as your's and low and behold I am in exactly the same position as you & she!! A few things I have learned about Next Directory, My pal had a small, but tidy balance on her account and they froze the account within months of her having the account simply because she changed her E-mail adress, she phoned and they said that she would have to open a completely new account with them and close the old one, meaning a new Credit Allowance probably smaller and another Credit Check, all came back fine but for security purposes they required a valid Credit Card registered at her adress in her name...she did so and all went swimmingly. She like myself are good payer's on-time pay more sometimes than usual, but they have this rather annoying habit of fluctuating your credit allowance. One day hers was £700 the next £100. Now they have done with me is I have only had the account '2' weeks would you believe and my credit rating is 'Excellent' I have two other mail order accounts and manage them both fine, no probs all is well. But Next gave me £150 to start with and now I have nothing!!! Zero. I was not informed even though in the Credit agreement & pre-contract they state I will be given suitable notice of variations. Although I do accept they can do as they wish, it is not good customer practice to do this sort of yo-yo credit up and down. I mean if they are so paranoid about giving credit and wary that we are all out to [problem] them in any way shape or form then whey offer credit in the first place?? This kind of thing infuriates me totally as my other mail order catalogues do not treat me like this at all!! But Next does and it is a know fact. So what have I done? Told them, not just you customer services but the Managing Director he came back to me as 'Out of Office' so I got hold of his P.A.'s E-mail adress and other company directors and sent them a stinking letter and making them aware I, me as the customer deserves a better level of care, standard of service and treating like a human being! Just sitting back now waiting for the fun to unfold....If they don't reply the get the same standard letter again until they get sick of it!! Who do they think they are for God's sake??
