Didnt I read it right, the op was asked initially to take the tv to store for them to send it off (presumably to samsung) but the op refused. How is this passing the buck or not wanting to know?

For the record, it's no longer one or two DVDs on most computers. Some even take 10 now.- 18 replies

Come on dx, no insurance policy covers anything. All will exclude neglect or misuse and you would be very naive if you took it out thinking anything different.

dropped my laptop - knowhow now say i'm not covered!!
porkyp1g replied to Please-Help's topic in PCWorld
Dx - I might be wrong but I'm sure they stopped commission in store years ago. Please help - were you using the laptop over the edge of your balcony rail!? -
I know why, BB from them cost £7 a month. They are giving you roughly half of that back for half a months service disruption. Most of your bill will be TV I am guessing?

What I don't understand is how he touchscreen can stop working all of a sudden on a model that doesn't have touch screen. Doesn't make any sense. OP, your touch screen was working before this you say?

Either way you need to pay for a report to get to the bottom of the fault. If you don't pay it to PC world then you will need to pay someone else. The choice is yours.

It's not just small businesses that do this, spar do it as well.

Fair enough if the company is in the wrong, but I doubt your contact will be able to help in this case.

Chromebook faulty, do I have any rights?
porkyp1g replied to bendan78's topic in Currys/PCWorld/Dixons
Sounds like LCD cable gone. Should be repairable through SOGA. Either get an independent report done or ask the store to check it regarding SOGA.- 23 replies

Surely this only applies if they are in the wrong. How are they in the wrong here? No contract terminates at the end of the term, unless cancelled by the user. A lso, not checking bank accounts in 3 years?? Just asking for trouble. You will be lucky to get anything back here I'm afraid, no matter how high you go. Dx, I'm on paperless billing, I get an email once a month telling me my bill is ready. Were they ignored as well?

Oh and what is full accidental damage?

If you know anything about apple products renegade, you will know that apple set the prices. No one is allowed to go above or below them unless apple say so....

Why would your repair be refused for just a scratch, doesn't make sense? -

Ah I see, lol, that makes sense. -
I had the same recently with euro car parts, I chased it for days and days. They had took money but hadn't delivered my parts. I even paid extra for next day delivery, but no one could tell me when it was coming, then one day it showed up out of the blue. Can you not go in store and ask for a stock transfer and take one away with you?

Did I read that right, your cat knocked it out of an open window, did you leave the laptop on window sill next to an open window? -
Currys - LCD TV bought 10 months ago
porkyp1g replied to Worstutility's topic in Currys/PCWorld/Dixons
So is the screen cracked? Is it possible your child cracked it but didn't tell you to avoid getting in trouble? I can't see someone cracking grass by pressing on it with a finger if I'm honest as it would take more force than that to impact the glass. They aren't easy to brake, I know from a previous experience. -
The tv looked like it had been dropped out of the window, rather than falling off a tv stand, the damage was very excessive IMHO.

The guy don't like ASDA then, they seem okay to me -
I don't know of any 2 scart TVs, and I doubt they exist, if they gave you a two grand tv or even 20k one, they still would not have two scarts. If it doesn't exist they can't give that to you. The policy cannot protect against future advancements in technology. What are you using that requires two scarts anyway?
