Hi all, This is my first post on CAG and I'm hoping someone out there can help!! I had a default attached to my credit file in May 2007 and its due to be removed in May this year. Since the default has been in place my credit rating has been poor even though i have missed maybe 1 payment in 6 years. I currently have 2 credit cards which i don't really use and have direct debits setup to clear the full amount each month even if the card is used. My question is this - will my credit rating improve when the default is removed in May? and will it be a sharp rise in my credit score, or will it be a slow process? I am looking to buy a house ASAP but for obvious reasons can't get a mortgage at the moment. Would really appreciate any help regarding this matter Tom
