  1. I know you said ignore. So CAP have bought the lemon debt? What about writing to not acknowlege the debt, or is that not recommended?
  2. Hi there, Apologies if this should come under debt. First and formost it seems a UPS problem. I recently got a letter from Control Account PLC asking for £131.15 and that their client is UPS. The first line in the letter reads "UPS Limited have previously contacted you in relation to an outstanding invoice". I have had no correspondence from UPS regarding anything other than deliveries. The letter gives no details of what UPS charge I am paying, date, tracking number or any relevant information to identify the debt. From my emails the only possible thing it could be is from an order 11th jan 2021. I have no problem paying this if it is UPS but I don't want to pay a debt recovery firm or their additional costs. (I have recieved a new letter today asking for £15 more). Should I write to Control Account PLC and ask for information to prove that I owe the debt? Since I have had no correspondence from UPS, surely I should be given more time to pay with them? Thank you! kind regards!
  3. The statements provided don't have breakdowns of calls. In fact, I've never had itemized bills so I had no idea what roaming charges will have been applied. I'll give it a go though.
  4. Finally got the SAR back with an apology for the delay and my 10 pounds postal order returned. The last entry on my account is as follows : "11/09/2012 The written off debt on this account has been sold to Lowell. The debt is no longer our responsibility so under no circumstances should Orange be dealing with this account, including any credit file queries. Please refer all customers back to Lowell." So since I shouldn't pay Lowell, what is my next step? I think the entry on my credit report will hinder my chances of obtaining credit/mortgage. Although my score is "fair". Thanks!
  5. I signed it yes. I did everything as per the SAR form. Signed, dated, with relevant account number. They should not need any more information.
  6. Ok they replied returning the 10 pounds postal order along with a letter that says that they require more information including date of birth, contact details, what information I require and a signature and then return it (along with the postal order again) to an address titled "Law Enforcement Liaison team". They are telling me the 40 days will begin again at that point. This is quite frustrating. Do I just go along with it?
  7. Is it normal to not respond to an SAR ? Maybe if they don't have any information then they wouldn't reply?
  8. Ok well in that case the SAR was sent to the OC and they didn't respond within the 40 days that I specified so what do I do now?
  9. I'll be using the SB template from the CAG library for sure to deal with that other letter from Lowell
  10. Hi all, It has been over 40 days with no reply from Everything Everywhere. It was delivered by recorded delivery which I was able to track online. I am thinking that maybe they don't own the debt (even though Orange are now part of them) and I writing to the wrong company but I can't find anywhere else to write to. What steps should I take now? I was told I should never pay a DCA is this correct? I think Orange sold my debt to Lowell (at least that is what I am told by my credit report)... and they keep sending me letters to which I have not replied. LOWELL PORTFOLIO I... If you tell us that we hold any inaccurate information about you we will correct it at no charge to you. please write to The Disclosures Team, Everything Everywhere Limited, Hatfield Business Park, Hertfordshire, AL10 9BW." got it!
  12. That is fine but orange is now EE. I checked companies house and Orange UK has been dissolved. No search brings up a confirmed address. I will ask instore tomorrow.
  13. I assume this is the address to which I should send the SAR "If You have any questions about the handling or protection of Your Personal Data or Your rights under this Online Agreement please contact Customer Services by calling 07973 100 150 or writing to PO Box 10, Patchway, Bristol BS32 4QJ."
  14. I haven't payed or contacted them for more than 6 years. Nor acknowledged the debt in writing or otherwise. It isn't on my credit report because, I assume, that the account is statute barred
  15. I've just received a letter from Lowell now pursuing me for a debt well over 6 years old and that doesn't appear on my credit report.
  16. I will send an SAR request. Many thanks you wonderfully helpful lot.
  17. sorry what is a lemon debt? a debt that cannot be enforced? oranges and lemons eh.
  18. Hi all, I can't find the letter to say that it has been sold to a dca but I'm pretty sure I had one and just threw it away, my mistake. Hamptons (?) have been trying to contact me so I assume they have the debt now. I ran up 1k in phone bills due to crazy data roaming tariffs and over seas calls when I was working. Someone I know was recently declined a mortgage due to an unpaid phone bill that appeared on his credit report.
  19. Account Type: Communications Started: 17/04/2010 Default Date: 19/04/2011 Default Balance: £929 The debt is showing on my credit report as an 8 (The account is in 'default'. You failed to keep to your credit agreement and have not responded satisfactorily to requests to bring your payments up to date, so the credit agreement has ended.) Orange said they no longer have the debt and it has been sold.
  20. Yes. My report says it is Lowell. If I contact them about this debt I don't want them to open the case regarding the old one. I am not sure why they just don't attach a payment slip to the letter.
