  1. HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT ASKING YOUR HOME INSURANCE SUPPLIER? iT MAY BE COVERED THROUGH THEM? BUT WHEN I SAID ABOUT POSTAGE RECEIPT YOU MUST ALWAYS GET PROOF OF POSTING YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AND I THINK IT COVERS YOU UP TO ABOUT £50! IF HOME INSURANCE DOESNT COVER IT THEN THERE WILL BE LITTLE YOU CAN DO! COS YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE POSTED ANYTHING!? OR AT LEAST THATS WHAT THEYLL SAY BUT ID USE A COURIER IN FUTURE THEY ARE NOT AS EXPENSIVE AS YOUD THINK! SORRY CANT HELP MORE!
  2. I am pretty sure you are allowed to earn £20 and they will deduct the rest at least that was the case when it was income support!
  3. always get proof of posting that gives you small level of insurance but royal mail are hopeless! Theyve lost loads of my parcels!
  4. I would get advice from the insurance onbudsman! They are the only people to have any influence with insurance companies!
  5. I would write to them and appeal to their better nature I have got away with that before after parking for 5 minutes i swear they employ people who live in these places I cant see how they get there so damn quick! but write explain any circumstances that will make it difficult for you to pay and explain that you parked with homeowners permission and that person should be entitled to a permit if they live there!
  6. I suggest staying put in your house until you've got them sorted or borrow a sum from the house and pay them off with that at least the rate on that loan will be lower and unless you were playing away I doubt the cards were run up to that level on your own, so why should wife have it so easy tell her to leave and you'll stay with the kids! do think its unfair for woman to get everything and if you walk away from that now youll never get any of it!
  7. Have you spoken with your neighbors? were they the ones who were there when the extension went up? most people will kick up it they had built without their permission to use the wall praps both extensions were done by same builder at the same time? Personally, I would get legal advice if you have it included on any of your insurances?! see where you stand before anything else!If you have no legal cover on your insurance get a fixed fee appointment, write your questions down before you go so you dont waste time and get all of the answers you need!
  8. I would think so, thats what you employ them for! My daughter, when she bought her house it was picked up in the survey that the conservatory had not got planning permission and they got advice on how to deal with that. IF YOU DIG OUT YOUR PAPERWORK IF YOU STILL HAVE IT AND LOOK AT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS for the surveyors you used and see if there is any mention of a party wall agreement? and also how long is their work "under guarantee " still. also another good place for advice on this would be if you have legal cover on your house insurance? if you have they could take it up with the surveyor on your behalf, to my mind the responsibility should be with the property surveyor! I am not an expert but am on planning commitee for a parish council. If you have a parish council where you are you could talk to them they usually know the ins and outs of your local planning matters
  9. I think you are meant to have what they call a party wall agreement. your survey should have picked up if there was potential for problems, I would find out if you can take it up with them as ultimately was their responsibility to find that out! hope that helps a bit?
