  1. My initial claim was for NI only. The form clearly stated that I had another form of income, which continued for 11 months. I asked about mortgage help and was given a form for mortgage information only. At no time did I complete anything showing if I had savings (I don't) or any assistance with bills.
  2. I haven't. This is what I do not understand. I was allowed mortgage interest payments but I have never filled in a form for income based JSA. I didn't even know that there was such a thing. I was given a form to complete with information about my mortgage only when I enquired after my mortgage protection insurance ran out.
  3. What is new about this? Mortgage help stops after 2 years now, whilst rental continues to be paid. If you own a house, find a job within those two years or the house goes. End of story. Happened to me.
  4. If the relevant form is a JSA3 then I have never completed one or been given one to complete. Somehow, I have been given income based JSA without being informed and without completing the application for it. How the heck can I be doing something fraudulent if I have never been involved?
  5. Is this (JSA3) the form that you are required to complete when changing from contribution based to income based JSA?
  6. Be very wary about continuing to sign on just for NI contribution. Some training courses and work experience are compulsory and not always in an area that will help you find a job in your chosen sector. Then there is the dreaded Work Programme, which you may just be dumped on without a choice.
  7. Thanks Margaret. I know the only form I completed was the initial one, no other form regarding income at all. I can't imagine that they could just give me a means tested benefit based on a 15 month old non means tested claim form (I didn't have access to contribution based JSA for 11 months after I completed the initial claim form) which is why I am trying to find out what was necessary. from anyone who has changed from contribution based to income based. I doubt that the DWP will give me the info as they are making the investigation.
  8. Thanks san_d. that's not quite why I want to know. I have not had any letters and was getting income based JSA, which they automatically changed me to, without me filling in any forms and without letting me know. I didn't know there were two and therefore didn't tell them about my ex contributing to my bills, as that is not a factor on contribution based JSA. Now I am being investigated for fraud. My question is how can they change you to a means tested benefit without doing the means test?
  9. I'm still looking for help on this if anyone knows the answer?
  10. Just make sure that you get everything they tell you in writing - and keep it. I am having problems (in a different area) because I didn't do that. Good luck!
  11. count orlok is correct. If you leave the job voluntarily then you will not be eligible for jobseekers allowance. I was treated for depression for much of my jobseekers claim, but was never classed as sick, just depressed but available for work. There is a TUC information leaflet that may help with information, but I am not allowed to post the link on here, sorry.
  12. Thank you san_d. As that never happened, how on earth did they manage to switch me onto income based benefit? Rhetorical question as I know no one will have an answer other than the actual benefits office involved.
  13. Thanks Nystagmite. I too think it is weird as I have never been asked for details of anything.
  14. Does anyone have any clue about this? Searching the internet does not help at all. I want to make a formal complaint that they were negligent, but need to be sure of my facts first.
  15. Perhaps because the mainstream newspapers have decided not to report it? It's origin came from the FB page of the protester.
