  1. I assume you mean your direct debits to Lowell? If you can afford what you are paying, then my advice would be yes. Littlewoods will not take any payment from you now, if you phone them, they will just give you the contact details for Lowell.
  2. Ey? The payment are every 28 days, as agreed in the terms and conditions when opening the account. To OP: If you can pay every 28days and stick to the arrangement, do that. Otherwise if you get an offer of payment sent in with a debt management company (ie, CAB or CCCS) it can be every calendar month.
  3. No I'm not. Charges or interest won't be stopped, unless there is a formal debt management plan in place (ie CAB or CCCS), in which case they will. It's that simple.
  4. Yes, Lowell now own the debt. You need to make arrangements with them to clear the debt. Obviously the usual advice applies, try and come to an arrangement, if not use the CAB / CCCS to send a formal offer of payment.
  5. Collections dept will go down to 12m payment plan, NDR will go down to 20m. If you can't make an arrangement this way, then go to the CAB or CCCS and get an offer of payment sent in that way. They will except any offer of payment not less than £1 pcm per account, and freeze charges / interest. Must be done through an official debt management company, or they will reject it.
  6. Except I work there, so I do know what I'm talking about. It's sold to them not passed for collection. I can give you the number for the debt sales team if you like, you can ask them.
  7. Just because you requested interest and charges be stopped, doesn't mean they are obliged to. Glad it worked out for you though.
  8. It's gone to NDR, that means your account is in arrears. You say you had a dispute with them, can you elaborate on this?
  9. Littlewoods will not take payment on the account if it has been passed to Lowell. It goes like this. Aprox 6mnths in arrears department -> Aprox 6mths in Nationwide Debt recovery -> Debt is sold to the highest bidder Obviously after this Littlewoods no longer own the debt.
  10. If they have told you to go to the CCCS this means that your offer of payment was lower than their minimum. Goto the CAB / CCCS and get them to send an offer of payment on your behalf. They will accept the offer and freeze any charges or interest as long as you keep to the arrangement.
  11. Why do people think it is their right to have the interest stopped? You can only request they stop interest. They are not legally obliged, either by law or the OFT. Edit: Original post sounded a bit snotty. Should have probably added that they will stop charges and interest if you send an offer of payment not less than £1pcm per account. Must be through an official debt management company, such as the CAB or CCCS though.
  12. What makes you think you can get the charges back? OFT says that anything is excess of £12 is unfair. Otherwise they can charge it to recover costs.
