  1. I have 2 delinquent accounts that were soley due to bank charges. Could I get these removed from my credit history?
  2. Hi, Sorry if this has been asking a zillion times before. I recently signed up to the free credit watch silver that Capital One give to all customers and was a bit annoyed to see two old bank accounts that were closed after getting fed up with their unfair bank charges. I see you can get them removed possibly if they're 'in dispute'. I've not actually asked for the charges back as of yet due to the stay on all cases. I was wondering what my best course of action would be to get these removed? 1. Ask for charges back disupting them. 2. Then start the process of getting it removed from CRAs as it's disupted. Would this be correct? Many thanks, Paul.
  3. I thought I'd closed it when I found out about the charges. So they carried on adding them. In the end my employer paid a round of expenses into that account by mistake which cleared the charges but left me out of pocket. Looking forward to getting them back finally when the Lords rule in our favour.
  4. Sounds very similar to my situation with Nationwide. Debt due to bank charges that should never have been applied for a cancelled direct debit. Idiots.
  5. No. Especially if you have an overdraft. They like to take them away during 'reviews' and then charge you £20 a day for the privilege.
  6. Sorry about that. :o Got home from a long day at work to find the letter from them. Maybe bar stewards would have been better.
  7. I'm really getting sick to death with the (EDIT). First last year they removed my graduate overdraft without any warning timing it exactly so I would be charged £38 in old style fees and then £215 in the new ones. Now after arranging a new payment plan of £31 a month, ironically less than I was paying before, they've just wrote to me to inform me due to the interest going on I'm now over my limit and will be charged £15 + £6 a day. Of course naturally the letter is dated the 14th and the charges have been going on since the 9th. Why tell me to pay £31 if they knew the interest would take it over the limit? Unless as I suspect it's just their compulsive lying attitude they have towards their customers these days.
  8. Saw that earlier today. How can they justify such a difference with HSBC? Also the timing of when they introduced the new charges, almost the same day they removed my overdraft without warning and didn't bother to tell me what they'd done until 2 weeks later. By which time i'd racked up the full amount of charges for that month. Oh well, the big trial starts on Monday. Maybe we'll finally get our charges back soon.
  9. Have you tried paying a little more, like £5 and seeing if they do it again? I.e reducing it by more than what they agreed. Clear case of abuse if they do.
  10. Like for example not telling a customer he was overdrawn for 2 weeks thus allowing them to charge him an easy £300 in charges?
  11. Collections don't seem to know what they're talking about half the time. I re-arranged my overdraft via them after they removed my old one without warning. Was told the new arrangement would be £65 a month including interest, then received a letter yesterday confirming the arrangement to be £31 a month for the next 6, no mention of interest. Going to have to call/write to them again to find out what they actually want me to pay.
  12. Ok I'll post it when I get home. Always welcome some constructive criticism. Oh I will, just wanted to make sure I wasn't jumping the gun. Cheers. Paul.
  13. Hi all, Ok so I was told to write to Lloyds TSB if I wanted to complain about the way they've treated me regarding my graduate account and overdraft. I've basically wrote out how it played out, including dates as necessary. I wasn't sure exactly what to say to push things in my favour? I mentioned what I wanted, i.e my account back to how it was, no fees etc. Should I mention that I will write to the FSA if they refuse to help? Or will that make it more likely they wont help? Thanks, Paul.
  14. Well that was a waste of time. Basically ended up calling collections from the branch who gave me the same rubbish after telling me last week I had to go to branch to get the charges sorted out. So I re-arranged the overdraft so I don't get charged further but found out they're going to be charging me high interest on the whole amount when before the first £1000 was still interest free. So paying £65 a month £35 would be interest. He said if I wanted to complain I'd have to write to an Andover address. Why he couldn't have just bloody told me last week I don't know. So, is there any pre written letters on here I could use or at least some pointers, who it should be addressed to, any names to mention in a CC or key words and phrases to use to make things happen quicker and in my favour? Many thanks.
