  1. Hi everyone, I've been trying to contact Sunny to arrange a repayment plan for the past 3 months. Each attempt to contact them has been ignored and on occasion my emails have been deleted without being read (I get 'read' confirmations automatically, which also tell me if the email is deleted without being opened). Yesterday I received an email telling me that my account had been passed to MMF, which is a shock when you consider that I have been making repayment offers for the past three months. So today I have sent them a further email raising a formal complaint regarding their conduct during this period of time and requesting a response to my complaint so that I can escalate it to the FOS and forward all info to the FCA and guess what? That email was deleted without being read too! the only email address that I can find for them is help (at) sunny (dot) co (dot) uk, where I'm having no luck at all. Does anyone know of any alternative email addresses that I can send my email to? Thanks in advance, any help gratefully received. Cheers, MB78.
  2. Thanks for the feedback everyone, it's really interesting to see how many of these companies are linked by just a couple of people! ecotrojan, thanks for that info. I'm glad they were able to help you out in your situation - with so many [problem] PDL sites floating around just trying to collect details, it can be really tricky to know which ones are genuine lenders. Cheers, MB78
  3. You don't mention if you have made any other payments towards the outstanding balance prior to this offer being made. If you haven't then that means they are only looking to charge you £100 interest on the original loan amount which sounds like a very fair deal to me - as long as you get confirmation in writing that the debt is settled and will not be passed on to any other parties of course! Cheers, MB78.
  4. Hi Charlie, Of course, if your information gives assistance to any of the forum members then it is a valuable addition, I respect your stance and can understand your anger and frustration at these companies. In terms of how a PDL company could use this thread to their advantage, several forum members have quoted CAG as a source of information and advice during correspondence with PDL companies, governing bodies and even in court. With knowledge of threads like this, particularly in a court situation, a PDL company could potentially state that the site is biased against them and therefore any evidence or advice offered would also be biased and should not be taken into consideration. Dealing with individual cases, as is the norm on this forum, is fine as it considers only the particular circumstances of the OP. Conversely a blanket campaign, as this appears to be on the face of it, can be considered differently as it is encouraging people to take action against these companies without considering individual circumstances. Of course, this is not to say that these companies are all acting responsibly, the evidence elsewhere on this site stands as testament to that; however, the other cases here all relate to an individual's position in their dealings with these companies rather than just as a 'cure-all' thread. Again, as per my original post, this is merely my rather humble and not necessarily well-informed view on this, however, I can see exactly where Renegade is coming from with his comments thus far. Nevertheless, I respect your feelings and wish you luck with your campaign. Cheers, MB78.
  5. HI, I think that Rene may be referring to Forum Rules 3.5.i) and 3.12 and also the fact that many PDL companies frequent this site and may potentially utilise a thread like this one to their advantage. Similarly, with the greatest respect for your desire to take action, investigations by newspapers, media and government departments are a very different thing to a 'call to arms' on a public forum. As usual, this is just my spin on things and I may be speaking out of turn so please feel free to disregard anything that I say if you so wish ! Cheers, MB78
  6. Gemma, I've checked their website and noticed that they say they send out welcome letters to new customers - but again, I and several others never received anything from them. However, one person on a forum that I looked at this evening said that they did get a letter (forum post was from 11th June this year) containing some T's & C's and that the envelope had a small Wonga logo on it. Apparently it didn't contain anything pertaining to the financial side of the loan (value, duration etc), so maybe you could dismiss it as marketing junk mail? Cheers, MB78
  7. Gemma, For info, I have never received anything in the post from Wonga. I'm not sure what would happen if you defaulted on a loan but in all the time that I have been a customer, they have never sent me anything in the post, preferring instead to do all of their business via email. I'm not sure if someone can advise if they have changed their policy and now send out letters, but from my dealings, I have never had one. Cheers, MB78.
  8. Hi everyone, I was just browsing through the internet last night (as you do when the weather is against you) and came across a site: http://www.ladderloans.c o.u k. Apparently, they are a trading name of Inventive Finance Ltd and offer loans between 6 and 18 months at around 299% APR. I've searched to see if there was any other information on them on the web but can't find anything other than [problem] checks saying the site is okay, but nobody's personal experience of using the company. Apparently, they are a direct lender as there is no mention of brokering anywhere on the site. Just interested to know if anyone's had any dealings with either them or Inventive Finance. Cheers, MB78
  9. You haven't been - which is why people are reluctant to answer your question. Your attitude smacks of trolling or, ironically enough, someone who works in the industry trying to trap a forum member. Of course, I'm not insinuating that you are either of these things, I'm just making a point that this is how your posts can be perceived. If you read through this forum regularly, you'll find that it's actually not rare at all for members to quote stats or Ts & Cs; there are a huge number of very well-informed people on CAG and they know their way around these things - accusing a forum member of working for a PDL company is not going to get you anywhere. In fact, PDLVictim has helped a lot of people on this site and your allegation is entirely unjustified. Before you rear up on me, believe it or not I'm trying to help you. Reel in the attitude a little and pose your questions in a more approachable manner and you will receive a lot more assistance. Cheers, MB78
  10. There you go Fred76, just like I said: the guys on this forum are truly amazing! Good luck with your letter! Cheers, MB78.
  11. Fred76, Firstly, don't panic! I'm no expert on these things but many others on the forum really are and someone will be along soon to offer you some cast-iron advice. All I can say in the meantime is to read through the Speed Credit forums here on CAG - you'll recognise the email that you received on almost every other thread! It seems to be a generic scare tactic that they employ and having read other threads on the site, I don't think you'll find that any of their additional charges (such as the £350 recovery fee) are enforceable. Like I said, Renegade and the other great guys and gals here will be along soon to help. While you're waiting, please spend the time reading through the other helpful threads on the site. Cheers, MB78
  12. Well done AngryDover, just shows that perseverance can pay off eventually!
  13. Welshy, here's a quote from the BBC article linked in post #4 but text not shown in the post: "MCO Capital now operates online as Speed Credit, Paycheck Credit and Pop Credit." Cheers, MB78
  14. Sorry AngryDover, we overlapped - I've just flagged for admin action as I didn't know if you were around and didn't want to leave it hanging but you've already done it! Shouldn't be an issue though. Cheers, MB78
  15. Princess, please note that 2 of your previous posts still feature your first and last names (unless these are aliases that you have entered in which case I apologise). You really should remove these for security purposes. Good luck sorting out your PDL's! Cheers, MB78
  16. I'm not in a position to comment directly having no experience of disputing transactions with PDL's although I do occasionally take PDL's which is why I regularly read through this forum to ensure that I am informed - I'm not just being nosey! I just wanted to make you aware that you have left your telephone number in your last post which should be removed for security and/or identification purposes. Good luck with your claim against Barclays! Cheers, MB78 Edit: Not sure if you're about, so I have flagged your post for admin action to remove the phone number.
  17. Hi darkrage, I too have only just read in the fine print on the back of my V12 finance agreement that I have been paying PPI on the balance of my iMac payments for the past 3 years - my payments are actually due to finish later this month so it's nearly for the entire period of the agreement that I have been paying PPI that I didn't request or know was included. Are you able to offer any advice on how you went about making your claim to V12, as it seems that you have been successful and there can be no-one more qualified to ask than someone who has already won their claim! Cheers, MB78
  18. Thanks for the link, rebel. Some interesting information in there. I have bombarded every email address I can find for EDF with my complaint, have demanded a payment plan to be set up for the outstanding balance and have expressed my disgust using every word that isn't an expletive to the way that EDF have acted. To be fair, they have responded quickly and have set up a payment plan for the outstanding balance without any further hassle (I also requested written confirmation that no further action will be taken and no house visits will be made, which I got). I'm still not happy at all with the way that they went about doing this and something really needs to be done about their system for sending automatic letter drops, but they have at least apologised for the way it was handled so I suppose that's something. Just for info for anyone else reading this thread and becoming frustrated by trying to get hold of EDF: send them an email rather than calling. Not only will you have their response in writing (very important I've learned from CAG), but they also respond very quickly - in my case anyway. I wouldn't pay a huge amount of attention to their 'within 10 working days' statement, this is a safety net for them; I sent 3 emails yesterday before midday and they were all personally responded to (not generic responses, even though 2 of them were forwards of the first email to alternative addresses) by 3pm. The email addresses that I used were (remember to include you account number in the subject line along with a 'headline' of your problem): [email protected] om [email protected] om [email protected] om (in reply to one of their responses) [obviously ignore the additional spaces] ... all of these gave automated responses to confirm receipt and were all replied to within 4 hours - much more preferable to sitting on the phone waiting for them! I also used the 'contact us' form in my account section of their website with a similar result. Hope this may be of use to someone! Cheers, MB78.
  19. Hi everyone, Long time reader, first time poster. Just wanted to come on here and tell everyone about the ridiculous treatment that I have received from EDF over the past couple of weeks. I phone to change my direct debit amount and collection date in mid July. I was told that I had to cancel the current DD and set up a new one to change the amount - seemed a little odd but went along with it. After I had cancelled, I was told that I had to wait a week before I could set up a new one (great, another 30 minutes listening to 'Take On Me' while waiting to get through!) A day after cancelling my DD, I received a letter from them stating that I had a 'severely overdue' amount of £35 on my account. My account balance at the time was actually £250.77 (debit) so not sure where that number came from! I phoned again to query this and was told not to worry about it because I could set up a new DD which would cover it. I took the opportunity while I actually had someone on the phone to reinstate DD at a slightly increased value and an amended collection date. When the collection date arrived, I checked my account and noticed that EDF had taken my new DD amount AND the full outstanding balance on my account! Back to the phone I went to ask what had happened; the lady that I spoke to apologised for their error and told me that I had to instigate an indemnity claim under the DD Guarantee through my bank to claim the money back. I did this (very quick and easy, thanks Smile) and then phoned EDF back to tell them that it had been actioned and to check that everything was okay - I was assured that it was. 2 days later (Thursday last week), I received a letter stating that my DD had been cancelled by my bank. After spending over an hour waiting (over 2 days) to speak to someone about this, I gave up for the weekend, only for the biggest shocker to land on my doormat on Saturday morning... .. EDF sent me a 'legal action notification' letter saying that they had tried several times (several times? Try never) to contact me about the outstanding balance on my account and now had no option but to commence legal proceeding against me! These legal proceedings would apparently comprise a doorstep visit on Saturday 11th August to collect the outstanding payment in full or to fit a pre-payment meter. Now I've sent them a particularly snarky email and am now dealing with them entirely by email for record purposes but, while they have apologised for the 'shock' caused by their letter, they still feel they are in the right and will still be coming to my house on 11th August unless I pay the outstanding amount of £156.77. I think that their conduct has been entirely disgusting throughout this sequence of events - what if I had been some little old lady and received that stupid threatening letter? They are beyond contempt, and as soon as this matter is resolved, I will be getting the hell out of EDF and on to a new supplier. I have raised a formal complaint to EDF about their conduct and would appreciate any advice on other avenues that I could go down to bring their antics to the attention of others. Apologies for the long post, but it's a long story and I wanted to get all the details in one post! Cheers, MB78
