So not to the DC as they are the ones chasing the debt?

The ICO says that an account has to be reported defaulted within 6 months of late payments??

If it was statue barred I think it would say so or turn green as opposed to red. Well whats what I have read online...

Hi, I have been trying to repair my credit over the past few years and still there is one debt that I don't know what to do regarding wrong information being reported to the CCA. I took out a loan back in 2006 with welcome finance and never paid it for some reason or another. Young and stupid!! The debt was marked as 6 payments late for years according to my credit report.. Surely this is wrong and it should have been defaulted within 6 months? Account Type: Loan Started: 24/04/2006 Default Date: 13/06/2012 My last payment or contact with them or a debt collector I think was 01/09 I would have thought that it would be nearly statue barred. I have recently looked up my credit report as I'm getting married and would like to get a mortgage sometime in the near future.. The account is now being reported by another company called Intrum Justitia and states that it was defaulted on the 26/05/2012. Now can I do something about this as if it had been reported as defaulted back in 2009 It would be or nearly statue barred. I have been reading on this site about sending letters and complaining but I don't know who I should contact or even if I should though I would like this sorted. I have put in a complaint to the CCA but I don't know what this will do. Thanks in advance

Late Payment Markers - more than a dozen '6's
drewx23x replied to DBY's topic in Credit Reference Agencies
I have the same problem with WF. My last payment was 01/09 and its all 6's until last week when it went to an 8 and now its defaulted. When surely this should have been done back in 2009. I have read all posts here and think I will send them the letter above. I can't have this on file for another 5 years. -

Im new to all this.. what does this letter do? also do I send this to Welcome? I just checked my annual credit report and it says I made my last payment 01/09. So should the default date not be closer to then rather than now? Can I ask for this to be changed? -
Welcome finace default notice.

Hi I just had another look and it says I defaulted on the 13/06/12. This was updated in the 7/07/12 so just 3 days ago. Is it not strange that this would happen after so many years? Also it says welcome finace are updating this information. Thanks -
Welcome finace default notice.

Yes but now that it says I only defaulted on the 13th of last month I don't want it there for another 5 years -
Hi, Im looking for some help regarding my debt to welcome finace. Account Type: Loan Started: 24/04/2006 Default Date: 13/06/2012 Current Balance: £4,114 Payment terms: £178 x 25 months I have recently just signed up to see my Experian credit report and noticed that the default notice is not so long ago. I have never recieved a default notice nor have I made any payments to this debt in years. Shortly after taking out the loan I lost my job and was unable to pay the debt. I then simply forgot about the debt. I was only 22 and very nieve regarding money and debt. I have also moved house since. I have looked at the payment history and it says I stopped paying after 15 payments. I think this is correct by the 1, 2, 3 chart!! I was kind of hoping this debt would be statue barred within the 5 years (Scotland) Will this debt be on file now for another 5 years? Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks
