  1. Hi Had an email from Brighthouse saying that they are unable to get a copy of my original agreement, and what would i like them to do to resolve this issue. I advised them that i want the OSC and DLC for the whole 156 weeks refunded to me, and if it is not then i will take them to the small claims court to get the money back... . Am now waiting for a reply from them in answer to my last email. I have proof that the payments that were made for the last 2 years of the agreement were 18.....
  2. Thanks for the help, she got a cheque back from Brighthouse for over two hundred pounds, but they say she cant' have the DLC refunded as her ome contents insurance did not cover good on HP. She has now ha a new agreement and aletter advising what the balance to pay is, so all good now. Now though it is my turn, Store i originally bought tv an dstand from say they no longer have a copy of my agreement as they send them o be shredded 5 years after they finish. I only finished paying for the items 2 years ago, after having the agreement redone to show just my name instead of joint names with my ex husband. Also copy of new agreement that they snet me shows payments were 10 per week. I was paying 18, and now they say they will not refund my money. Can;t find copies of my original agreement as i think my ex kept them, and i have moved from the area.. ... any help would be appreciated..
  3. HI, i am trying to get a copy of my original agreement, which was in joint names, but was rewritten 3 years ago to be solely in my name. I am now being told by the head office that they are unable to get a copy, due to the fact that the store send paperwork to be shredded after it has finished for 5 years..... As the agreement was only transferred into my sole name 3 years ago, and i only finished actually paying for ite item 2 years ago, surely they should still have a copy of the original agreement... They have sent me a copy of the rewritten agreement showing that the payments were 10 pounds per week. I was paying 18, and they have just told me that the remainder was for the DLC and OSC, we never wanted these items, when we originally took out the agreement, we gave them a copy of our household insurance, and to be honest as we told them we didn't want either of the additional charges, we never checked the paperwork when we got home... Is there anything i can do now about these charges, as i seem to have paid an additional 1200 in DLC and OSC, and want them refunded to me.. I have even thought of sending am email to the CEO, but i doubt very much that he would do anything about it ... thanks for your help ..
  4. Is there anything i can do about it. I have paid nearly £3000 for a tv and stnd, and over £1200 of that is OSC and DLC, all i have is the rewritten agreement from when i moved... There email says that the payments were £10. per week. I have copies of my bank stattements that show i was paying £18 a week....
  5. I have asked Brighthouse for a copy of the original agreement from when i was with my husband and lived in Manchester. When i seperated from my husband i had the agreement changed to show just my name and new address as i left the area. I recently claimed back the OSC for my mother from Brighthouse, and though it took them 6 weeks to send her the cheque, it was settled. The head office have said that the store when i held the original agreement have said that they no longer have a copy as they are sent for shredding 5 years after finishing. I only finished paying for the items just over 1 year ago, and it was only 2 years ago that it was rewritten so it was just in my name.... Surely they cannot have got rid of my agreement already as it is not 5 years yet. I had a copy of the 2nd agreement showing my payments should have been £10 per week, i was paying £18, and that apparently included the OSC and DLC, which we did not want nor need. I have asked for them to refund these charges. They are saying they do not need to refund these charges as everything was explained when we purchased the items. No way did they explain everything to us. We told them the we did not want the DLC charge as we had our home contents insurance already, and we gave a copy into the store.... How can i find out what was added to our original agreement if they are saying they no longer have a copy of it. I have moved a couple of times, and no longer have the agreement..... Is there anything i can do ..
  6. My mother brought a cooker from brighthouse 2 years ago, and has been paying each week. She was told by the store that she was in arrears by £40.00, but then had a letter from the finance company saying that the arrears for the items was £15.01. It would appear that the remainder of the arrears was the OSC and DLC. I have sent an email and letter to the company advising them that the OSC and DLC are to be taken off the agreement, and they have said that she will have to sign a new agreement in the store. The store manager is also saying that she is not entitled to a refund of the money that she has already paid for OSC or DLC, even though she has copies of her home contents insurance as proof that she had home contents insurance when she took out the agreement. Is there anywhere that i could get a template of a letter to claim these charges back, as the cooker my mother bought was £400, and after paying the OSC and DLC it has turned into £1100, which i think is disgusting especially as my mother is a pensioner and has little enough money to live on in the first place.. . Thanks for your help
  7. I keep getting emails from Marshall Hoare regarding a toothfairy loan that i took out. They say i now owe 698. The loan was originally 100, and i could not afford to pay it back due to being advised that my ex had declared himslef bankrupt and i had ended up with all of our debt instead of just half of it. I have sent numerous emails back to them offering to repay the original loan at £20 oper month, but have had no response from them at all, i have also tried to send emails to the collections dept at toothfairy finance, but they are also ignoring my request. I sent a letter of complaint to the financial ombudsman, but they just sent me a letter back with a form to fill in and said to send a letter to Marshall Hoare to try and arrange repayment of the loan. Why should i send something in the post when i have sent emails almost immediately after they have sent me an email, threatening me with Bailiffs, when they won't even respond to my request on email. How can i stop them....
  8. Hi, I have just got the money to declare my self bankrupt at last. I have got all the forms from the website, but am a little worried about what will happen with all my bills that i pay by direct debit now. My ex husband declared himself bankrupt in January this year, which left me with the all of the shortfall of the mortgage plus a secured loan to try and pay back. I wanted to do an IVA but my debt it too high now to even consider doing that,. I am a single parent of a 16 year old, and am living in a rented property. My son is not working, and my child benefit and tax credits are due to stop as he has now finished school. I have a basic bank account with no overdraft and am paying all my bills now by direct debit or standing order, will i still be able to do this. Also i have a basic bank account with the Nat west, i do not have an overdraft or anything like that, will i still be able to use that bank account, or will i have to open another one....... My employer knows about my bankruptcy so that won't be affected, but i still need to pay my wages into somewhere...... I have a company pension, which is not worth very much, from here and have had others which i am transferring to my current one, will they want details of those. Also i am struggling with the forms.... are there any copies that i can get to help me with filling them out. Thanks very much
