  1. I paid cash, I still have the a4 invoice for it if thats any use but obviously not. Zotac do take responsibility of the retailer goes bust, you simply pay them £25 to do so.
  2. Hey, A few years ago I was on incapacity benefit after a work accident, and was out of work for 3 years. During this period the kitchen was turning into a hazard and the bathroom upstairs had some problems that needed attention. I went to my bank (Barclays for 20 years) to see if I can get some kind of a credit card / overdraft to pay for the bits I needed but instead I was offered a small loan of £2700. I took the loan not knowing, or ever being told anything about PPI. I found out 2 months ago (two years after the loan was paid off) that the PPI had racked upto a good £350 on the last payment. I was looking online for letter templates to send to the bank but to be honest, they are a little confusing and was wondering if I could grab some pointers on the correct way to format the letter. Many thanks!
  3. Hi, Sorry to bump such an old thread. I just want to know if anyone can shed some new light onto the matter. I'm sure there is a way as suggested several times, however Zotac simply refused to accept SoGA as an excuse and constantly pointed to their own warranty period. Many thanks!
  4. I didn't know when it was going to end that is why I emailed them to find out however I knew it would be within the month. I didn't anticipate to receive a reply 2 weeks later. I phoned them several times before hand but they told me to email the relevant department as they couldn't pull up the warrenty details there and then for some reason. If they had of confirmed it was still in warranty I was simply going to put out a request for RMA it is that simple. Nobody's flogging of dead horses mate. Regarding SOGA. Zotac take full responsibility over their products if the retailer you purchased it from goes bust. So not sure if what you say applies? They may not have sold it to me but they took responsibility of it. Thanks!
  5. I requested infomation on my warrenty as I knew it will end somewhere in the month. Turned out to be the 31st. I emailed them on the 25th but never got a reply till the 7th of January. They told me not to worry and to simply follow the steps but then out of the blue they said that they will not cover the card any longer as it was out of warranty. I explained to them I was in contact with them since the 25th but they wouldn't have any of it so I gave up. This was way back in February. I thought I'd give it one more try using a more legal approach but obviously that never worked either.
  6. Revived a reply yesterday... A bit appalled really. They simply keep writing the same thing over and over again. This is the third time I have received this: "Sorry but you did not put in a claim within the warranty period, you simply requested information on you're warranty a few days before it expired..." They basically ignored everything I wrote and gave me a response not relevant to my email. Now what?
  7. Well here's a little update. I wrote them out an email, mentioned SOGA a few times (thanks dx100uk for you're template) and surely enough I received a reply a few hours later asking for more information located on the card. I promptly sent that back to them, again mentioning SOGA and how it failed within the warranty they provided anyway. This was 7 days ago. So I sent them an email on Monday asking for an update but still no reply. I was going to wait till the end of the day to send them an email giving them a deadline to resolve the matter but not quite sure how I would draft it. Not exactly to sure what to say if they don't meet that deadline. Lol. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the help thus far. If it wasn't for you guys I doubt they would have even replied to me.
  8. Yes actually I think I do DX. I will give it a try.
  9. thanks for the link I will definitely look into it! I may even by one for my own car as it is getting old now.
  10. Yes actually I think I do DX. I will give it a try.
  11. Yes as DX says I paid cash. Mistake. Any ideas if its possible to "rent" an heavy duty car charger? I used a car battery trickle charger but the thing is so small it is a joke. Couldn't charge my AA batteries if it wanted to. Plus I think the last time I had to use it, it caused the socket to start sparking. Lol.
  12. Thanks but did not help. Here is the battery make/model: HCB096 Here are the only codes printed on the battery: "1A61C07" - "B139C4" and also a product serial number.
  13. Hmm, sorry. I just checked and it says 4 years guarantee, not 5 years lol. That is my other battery. But still it should be fine. The problem is, I have looking all over the battery for a date stamp, or a code of some sort that could relate to a date but NOTHING. Any ideas where to look? After some googling this battery hit the shelves in 2007. So if they use that as a start point that means it has already run out of its guarantee time frame.
  14. Hi, yes its a sealed for life maintenance free unit. I'll bring it to them on Monday and see what happens.
  15. Thanks! Are you sure SOGA will not help? I was told in a previous thread of mine that it is very relevant with warranty cases and also out of warranty cases. I'm confused now.
  16. Hi, I have a Halfords battery that I bought brand new in late 2009. I remember I paid cash for it and put the receipt aside in what I thought was a safe place. I now can't seem to find the receipt as I need it to return the battery as it is completely DEAD. It came with a 5 year warrenty as it says so on the side of the battery. I have two cars, one a Golf TDI which I use for daily commute and the other a Volvo for which this battery was in. I would only use the Volvo a few times a month but I wouldn't have expected the battery to die after a year or so of using it on and off. I've tried everything to get it going. I even put it into my Golf and kick started it down a hill then did a 40 mile motorway commute but when I tried to start the car, nothing. A little bit a crank which was all it gained in a 40 mile journey, so the battery in my book is toast. The battery died around 6 months ago and it has been a doorstomp ever since as I can't find the receipt and figured they won't accept it back as I paid cash which means no proof like a bank statement etc. Any advice? Can I still bring it back under the SOGA even though I don't have a receipt? Thanks!
  17. We'll I paid £75 for the card, so even if they replace it with a £50 one (cheapest they have in their current line-up) then yeah I suppose it is To explain it in detail… When you buy a product of Zotac from an outlet and that product goes faulty, you take it back to the outlet within the standard 2 years warranty and the outlet sends it off to Zotac to have it repaired/replaced. However If the outlet goes bust/closes down, you can pay £25 to Zotac for them to remove the middle man so to speak. One way or another all roads lead to Zotac.
  18. Awww, forgot to mention one thing. The store I purchased the GPU from closed down not long after I bought it, however Zotac offer a service where you pay them £25 to deal with you directly in the case the outlet you purchase their products from closes. I never actually purchased it directly from Zotac. Does this change the playing field? Sorry, it completely slipped my mind. PS: thanks for the reply btw, I will use your post as a template

Thanks for the replies. I took it back today, but they said they can only, if anything, exchange the unopened ones for something else. Does anyone know where I can find ‘proper’ sleeves? You know, the ones that aren’t cut 100% down to the micrometer?
  20. Hi, so how do I go about wording my next email to them? It has been a while. Thanks for the reply friend!
  21. I always assumed a warranty meant that if they don't have the same product in stock they will have to replace it with a similar or greater product. How wrong am I?
  22. Hi, Around 2 years ago I purchased a Zotac GPU, it came with warranty that would have ended on the 31st of December 2011. I believe on the 23 or 24th of that month (before the Christmas holidays) I contacted them to ask when my warranty runs/ran out on this particular product. I did not mention at this stage that it had gone faulty. I received a reply after the new year asking for more information, part numbers, purchase invoice, etc. We exchanged a few emails and all was going well until out of the blue they told me the warranty has expired and the card will not be replaced. I stated that I had contacted them within the warranty period but they said that I did not mention at the time that the card was faulty, and that I only asked about the warranty itself. I argued for a while going back and forth but then I eventually gave up. This was around 3 months ago. I was clearing out a few things today when I found the GPU and thought I'd try one last time to see if there is any hope in this case, as I belive there is. If a conversion begins at a certain point in time, it should be considered the same conversion. Not separate ones. At the end of the day, this is an email service which could take up to 3 days for a simple reply. I asked a question within the warrenty period, I received a reply outside of it. Thanks!

Hi, I have a strange problem. I thought I'd renew all my old folders that I use to file away my documents and accounting things. (bank statements, invoices, etc) and where else better to do that then WHSmith. (Or so I thought.) I bought around 10 folders - and 5 packets of 100 folder sleeves. (Fairly cheap quality may I add, expected better from WHS) When I got home I decided to start removing the old sleeves and replacing them with new ones. As I was doing this I immediately noticed the new sleeves won't allow for the paper to fit! 9 out of 10 sleeves I tried caused the paper to curl up a little. (Same as when you put 10 pages into one sleeve.) After a bit of head scratching I took a measuring tool out and noticed that the actual sleeves themselves are around 1cm narrower then the ones I have now. A few pages fit with a bit of struggle, but most don't. My bank statements immediately curl up, which means I can no longer double side the sleeves either as they barely fit a single page. Can I bring these back to WHS and tell them that they are not fit for use? Because they really are not. Thanks!
