Hi Well what a nightmare i am having! i lived in a flat from 2001 to 2006 and i got into arrears from council tax think it was £1500 pack then Over the past 10 years i have suffered with anxiety disorder so as you can imagine having baliffs baning on my door doesnt help I left my flat in 2005 and received letters from the council then telling me to pay and i think they served me with court orders, I moved from place to place so my debts wouldnt catch up with me then one day on 2009 i came home from work to find a letter from a baliff for the ct arrears owed!!! i didnt ignore it i went to cab and they rang the ballif explaned i couldnt afford to pay debt and emailed correspondece to the company with my income and outgoings. so over the years time has passed then today i have had a man in a van come knocking at my door to collect this same debt! it doesnt even say how much i owe but i know its for from the same baliff company than before. The problem i have is i cant afford to pay them i have been in touch with debt help councillers and all they told be to do is fo bank rupt i need £750 to do this and again dont have any money As i havent paid anything on this debt for over 5 years when will it go away? and also theyre is a code of conduct i think for people that suffer from mental health probelms surley there not allowed to harrass people like this What do i do? keep running or ring them and pay them a £2 a month which is all i can afford !! Please help
