  1. Yep, you're correct, who knows. Logic would say so but they do not seem to have any logic.
  2. So it seems they make their decisions and if you appeal, it is up to the appeal people. That's nice of them (sarcasm). They obviously are trying it on and hoping for the best. You definetely must go in person. Strikes me you have a very good case, but i'm just an intelligent woman and obviously with that statement don't work for LA. Lol Good luck.
  3. You don't have to help the Council anymore if you don't want to. I think you can even withdraw your statement if you want and pretty sure you don't have to go to court. Don't believe everything they tell you. Unless they have other "proof" it's going to be your word against his about you living there. I'm sure they have more than enough evidence without your assistance. His defence could be he split up with you and you are being malicious now. Not only that he's not happy now, think how unhappy he's going to be if this has serious implications for him. You're stressed now.
  4. Why does he receive IB then? For his physical health?
  5. Wafflefaffle, Not coming down on anyone here. I think you have done something wrong in not informing the Council that you lived in the property at the time you did, so don't be surprised when the Council Tax demand lands on your doorstep. I wouldn't belive the no repurcussions that you have been told either. Btw like the police you will be told all sorts of things by these people that are not true. Have you never heard of "no comment" in police interviews for starters? If that is allowed, of course you could have said "no comment" in a council tax investigation!
  6. Hensteeth couldn't have put it better myself. Totally agree, why involve yourself? They cause so much damage harassing vulnerable people. I know of someone that was a grass and when they interviewed the person he grassed up, they put him in it. Didn't actually realise they had until a year later read in the local paper how he'd been done for housing and council tax benefit fraud. She told the investigator exactly who had reported her. She was then asked if he claimed any benefits, she said "no" as she didn't realise he did. Turns out he did. Lol..... Serves him right, ha ha ha.
  7. He'll end up with a criminal record if found guilty. The investigators will take statement/s from you. You may have to go to court. Don't know why you would get yourself involved in this but obviously your choice. Maybe you should have asked the questions before you did. Why worry about what will happen? Makes no sense.
  8. Mike, What is EVIDENCE that you lived in a property? I have asked my previous LA and they have refused to give me an answer? Utility bills have been provided, on electoral role etc. Surely, the onus should not be on me to prove but them to disprove and not make decisions like the previous poster has said. "Seems they can make up rules to achieve what they want at any time....."
  9. Assisted blonde, Why do you think there are Solicitors purely dealing with Action Against The Police then?
  10. Call the police if you want but in my experience they are useless in fact worse than that.
  11. Agree with you totally. I'm determined not to pay a penny for what they want, as they are wrong. I am prepared to go to prison for this as i am not one to admit guilt or agree to something that is not true. It goes against who i am. What gets me is the never ending of it all. I have now complained to my new MP. I also think it is reasonable for me to ask what is evidence? But not to be given an answer is ridiculous. Keep updating.
  12. I understand your nightmare all too well and am interested in how things pan out for you. At present i have been asked to provide EVIDENCE i lived in a property. I scannned over some utility bills. When i received anther incorrect bill as i always do, i rang the person and as an aside asked what he considered was evidence. He refused to answer me.
  13. Thanks for that, I didn't realise you could leave without giving the 1 month's notice at the end of an AST.
