Hi there... I've just been served for a Council Tax EA by Walker Love and signed by Officer of Court. I have no problems with this. However, they have my employer details wrong. I left that employment over 2 years ago. Can i simply phone WL and update my details? Thanks in advance

ah i see - thanks. I don't. I just find it mind boggling that they would offer one. I get the feeling their threatening me with doorstep people to get me to pay it at a discount even though it's not mine!

brokebutnotbeatn - thanks for the reply. I know, i've been cool as i know this isn't mine and hoped they'd investigate and realise it's not mine. However, i don't want anyone turning up at my door. I just might do that as i've still got proof of postage.

Hi there. I've just signed up and looking for a wee bit of help here. CapQuest contacted me in Jan this year regarding a debt they claim i am liable for. It's for £316.06 and their client is 'Bos' which i'm inclined to think they mean Bank of Scotland. In brief; i contacted them by email and recorded delivery telling them i do not acknowledge the alledged debt and ask them to provide proof as the burden of proof is with them. The letter was sent Jan 19, 2012. They ignored and proceeded to send harassing letters without meeting my request. Today i recieved a 'Notice of Doorstep Agent Visit' if i don't respond in the way they want me too. from the letter: "If a response is not recieved by 13 May 12, an agent will be despatched and will call at the above address between the hours of: 8am - 8.30pm Mon-Fri 9am -4.30pm Sat" The agents are from ScotCall LTD. I STILL have no idea what debt i'm supposed to owe!! The last letter i got threatened me with a deadline from Marcus Butterworth. Both letters stated that a reduced settlement of £237.05 will be accepted. That's all well and good BUT i know nothing about this debt!! Today i contacted the OFT to complain and ask my local MSP to assist me also. I phoned my local Police to inform them that i do not consent to ScotCall appearing at my door and asked them to attend should this happen. I sent CapQuest an email advising them of this. I would be grateful is anyone had anything to add to this. I'm really stressed out. Thankyou everyone.
