  1. Hi according to the letter from MH the debt is just under £20K. My husband has the remnants of a loan which he pays £151 to each month and has never missed a payment and a small amount on his credit card. he could probably increase his payments to £50. Is it worth him contacting NRAM and offering a finite payment timescale such as £50 per month for 5 years to see if they will accept that rather than him carrying on paying for the rest of his working life (he is 42)?
  2. New on here andlooking for a bit of advice. My husband has an arrangement with NRAm to pay off the outstanding mortgage amount from when he handed them the keys to his flat in about 2006/07. He has been paying £30 a month by standing order which they have not queried. This morning he received a letter from MH stating that NRAM have asked them to recove the whole debt. Usual attachment of earnings, repossession of property threats in the letter. Is there anything he should do apart from keep paying the £30 a month to NRAM? They have never sent an request to increase payments or any correspondence in fact aprt from to inform him that htey now had their accounts up and runnng again so that he could pay by SO rather than having to use a payment book (he did have a SO set up but last year the bank cancelled it as the NRAM account was invalid so we had to trek to the bank every month). He has no interest in my property which is in my name only and there is no way he could pay off the debt in one go. Checked his credit file and it does state that he has an arrangment to pay.
