  1. Thanks guys started with just standard fos letter, PREDICTABLY rejected, Made a complaint to fos in early jan. Rani's original thread MBNA in some admin nightmare wrote to me to say they were still looking into it , and then 3 days later rejected it> having dicovered u guys on here I got wise and sent a SAR in and a week after they actioned this they wrote to FOS and said they with settle as a good will gesture, The basis being a company director I am effectively self employed and they would never pay any claim i made , IMS spreadsheet showed where money came from £10 in 1995 with compound interst worked back to £900 odd. N o fuss from MBNA even gave me settlement details from a senior case manager over phone > Now I gonna try for bank charges as the cummulative effect of PPI would have certainly been responsible for some of these Everyone i cant stress how ever laborious it feels or time consuming and painful keep at the claims , take guidance from the genuis Caggers on here and u shoudl see the benefit i have , A big donation on the way once i get the cheque . Fingers crossed for my outstanding cases with EGG[ IN HANDS OF AN ADJUDICATOR WITH BCRD PLAYING HARD BALL] and Santander [ awaiting allocation to an adjudicator]
  2. Sucess ............. Nearly fell of my chair when i got my settlement figure . For 2 MBNA cards running since 1995 and 1998 , maxed out for quite a while but all still current a grand sum of 64k , Amazing , jUST WAITING FOR CHECK NOW , This forum has helped me endlessly, The spreadsheets i did came within £500 of this huge amount which i am not gonna persue as t could be down to variations in interest rates etc, Am so amazed ., now to investigate the charges and changes in interest rates before i settle my bill and go have some fun with the loads and loads left over ,x
  3. That would normally feature on the statements. Is there nothing in the SAR response which indicates rates of interest? For now I'm adding 18per cent! It's gonna take a while as card goes back to 1998 am amazed they been able to give me copies of all
  4. thanks think i ahve it. i am unsure about what intrest rate to apply,.......... it was credit card , any guidance would be helpful
  5. Help............. What fig do i put under compound interest?
  6. thanks mr Ims will give it a shot, acc still open , no arrears , once i got the ppi sorted will hit em with charges claim. i just wondered if they would take over limit charges when they took off pii as in most cases removal off ppi and associated intrest would have meant no charges would have applied
  7. Have had confirmation from fos that MBNA will make offer, In meanwhile my sar has arrived from them so want to spread sheet it up so i can see if the figs come close Its for a credit card, i have no statements just the print out showing ppi made and dates and the odd balance amount, can some one guide me what spread to use ,[ i am pretty rubbish at spreadsheets ] and can someone advise on charges ie can i look at claiming overlimit and late fees etc Thanks
  8. hello. I had a similar card, i did a straight claim to mbna for a refund, they settled the claim within 8 weeks on the basis that they charged ppi without resubmitting terms and conditions when it was transferred from abbey, they only gave the premiums and associated interest from the time they took over and claimed to be continuing to investigate the ppi thats abbey may have received, After much to ing and froing with them i wrote to FOS who took up the matter on my behalf about 7 months ago, I phoned FOS on monday on another matteran dthey informed me that a letter was in the post to inform me that Abbey too were now gonna make a no admission offer, Mya dvise is to submit a claim to MBNA but in meanwhile also SAR them so if and when they make an offer you have some paperwork to verify against, xx
  9. UPDATE .....can i take my own advice and keep the faith, NO OFFER LETTER YET, RANG MBNA who said they havent mde an offer, back to FOS who now say they have only just written to mbna to say i agree to receive an offer letter, Seems to me that lots of time being wasted , mbna are particular inept at handling querys .........and so the saga continues !!!! Hopefully i will be updating with some good news soon
  10. Phoned MBNA this morning and after 52 mins of being pushed pillar to post I was informed that allthough FOS had been told that MBNA wa smaking an offer as yet no figures had been worked out and so it could be months before they actually make me an offer........... Typical huh , In the emanwhile after checking old correspondence from september 11 when they originally declined my offer i note they would be cancelling the PPI with immediate effect but i note on my current statement its still being appled ,Should i take this up with fos or will it all come out in the wash when i get my offer letter, Interestingly they ahve also not responded to my Sar request yet .... as my card goes all te wya back to 1998 and was maxed out for a considerable amount of time it will be interesting to see what figures they come up with ,
  11. That's encouraging as I havent had a reply from mbna yet just the ombudsman! The FOS letter is dated ten days ago does anyone think I should ring mbna to enquire about my offer letter ?.
  12. I applied for a ppi refund from MBNA and was declined [ oct] I sauntered off to FOS and got myself in the queue awaiting an adjudicator , after following this forum i decided to send MBNA a SAR Letter just to see where i stood [ about 2 weeks ago] and Hark today I got a letter from FOS advising me that MBNA will be making me a full settlement offer in line with FOS guidelines , yet to receive anything from MBNA but its good to know somethings happened, KEEP THE FAITH EVERYONE read all the forums and other peoples stories and we will get there in the end, Just Egg and a copuple of store cards to crack now, Thank you CAG
  13. Sorry dont have any specifics just that when i did the standard paper trail for claiming ie santander ..decline then refer to fos ... they aproached the underwriters etc , The reply from the underwriters and then subsequently thru a follow up call to fos was that as a lot of people were in this situation Fos were running some test cases and when they had any progress they would contact me again,
  14. i tried that with my laura ashley card / santander and got same response second time, i then went to FOS who refered it to the underwriter who also chucked it back, FOS is currently doing some sort of test case on this and so like thousands of us you will be in a holding pen!!! Has any one had any joy on the FLA route ? Seems us store card holders are in for a long haul to try and get anything back !
  15. Any had any joy with john lewis in particular when it was a store card rather than a partnership card, I have just sent in my claim about 3 weeks ago recorded delivery but not heard back yet!!!
  16. i sent it to MBNA and got a refund ''gesture of goodwill'' for all premiums paid to MBNA PLUS INTEREST ETC . the Santander abbey portion is as yet unresolved and in the hands of FOS, x
  17. no problem . Hppy to share any details that might help
  18. Hello, I had MBNA card that was originally an ABBEY card, Aftermuch too-ing and fro-ing MBNA settled the cliam but were unable to settle the case of the PPI paid during ABBEY'S tenure, so in effect got a part payment, I have now had to refer to FOS as SANTANDER also declined to handle it as they said its MBNA responsibility, MBNA have also mucked all the paperwork up on several other claims I or family have and are all at FOS. One of MBNA tactics is to keep sending out letters saying they have no evidence and then 2 days later copies turn up, My advice is carry on with the MBNA claim for as far as you can even if u dont ahve agreement but register a claim at Fos anyways GOOD lUCK
  19. An e mail to Olaff got me a response from an exceutive assitant,,,,,,,,,,,,,, offered me 3 months payments as good will against charges incurred as it was my job to monitor payments from my account , I politely declined,As i pointe dout it didnt incur any charges as the line has been barred since 2006 and no calls or line costs ever incurred , Now resorting to sending SAR to get copy of the fraudulently agreement before hitting the small claims court, Any advice anyone?
  20. I have a claim against egg at FOS na d its currently being bumped between adjudicator and egg and barclaycard, Send it to BARCLAYCARD by all means but go to FOS as they taking 6 months before it gets allocated to adjudicator!!!!
  21. Heh W i will also call FOS tomorrow and advise i got the letter and see what there call is . will update as we go along
  22. Got a letter from the underwriters today saying they are unable to assist at this time HOWEVER they are collaberating with the FOS to resolve this matter and will be in touch once this review is complete!!! so i continue to wait and ponder as to how long is a piece o string!!!
  23. The adjudicator on my case gave me the impression that its an internal accounts thing ie if barclaycard cough up they get the money from egg etc. and that they ahve to get agreement as to who is repsonsible . I get more and more confused as the days go by.
  24. it will be interesting to know if any one has got any futher than us in the matter, Thanks means 2 anend, i tried to read absorb and inwardly digest it but it didt all sink in !!!
