  1. Hi and thank you for reading this. I have a disciplinary hearing this coming Thursday for insubordination - being noted as not returning to work on a specific date, therfore putting the welfare of our service users at risk. I had 10 working days holiday left to take before the end of March, two weeks off, then 2 days the following week, giving me a start back date of 21st March. I took the days as confirmed and agreed with my company (I work 4 days per week, Wednesday, Thursday, Sat and Sun) by email, without actually checking the start back date - which was my silly fault. I assumed, that the last two days would be Wednesday and Thursday as these are my usual working days. I received the rota for my first week back to find that I was down to work on the Wednesday and Thursday, I immediately rang the office to explain that I was still on holiday, my boss was livid telling me that I had agreed to the start back date. I did try to explain to her that I didnt work Mondays and Tuesdays and therefore assummed that I would have my next working days! Where do I stand, I realise it was partly my fault for not checking the start back date but surely some fault has also to lie at my boss' door as you cant give a holiday to someone who doesnt work on those 2 days given. Your advice would really be appreciated. Kind regard
