1. Hi Jondanbob, The reasons for my mis-sell were that I was self employed at the time of taking out the policy and I worked for less than 16 hours a week. You had to work for more than 16 hours to claim. Also my husbands wages were substantial enough to cover my half of the mortgage if I was unable to work. Good luck with your claim, nothing to lose by trying! Woodyt
2. Hi there, Today I received a letter from Santander offering me £4096 for mis-sold ppi on my mortgage which is fantastic!:oops::oops:
3. Hi IMS, Thanks again for your advice and sorry that I haven't got to grips with the posting of threads, hopefully there won't be many more! You've really put my mind at ease and I shall sleep better tonight. I've had 'one of those days' and discovering this was the final straw! Many thanks again Kind regards Woodyt
4. Hi Jedicris, Thanks for your swift response. Think I will sleep better tonight now! Best wishes Woodyt
5. Hi there, After being all positive regarding my PPI claim against Santander I am now a little worried. The basis of my claim is that I don't (usually) work for more than 16 hours a week on a self-employed basis. However, I've just discovered my working tax credit form from a few years ago which states that for a couple of years I worked for 20 hours a week. Do you think they would check this? I only have to fill in a short tax return and there's nothing to state on there how many hours I actually work. I'm getting myself worried now that they might send the fraud squad round! Help Please Anybody?
6. Hi there, I currently have a PPI complaint against Santander regarding the mis-selling of PPI on my mortgage. In a nutshell, I'm self-employed and work for less than 16 hours a week however looking into the small print of the policy booklet, you have to work for more than 16 hours a week to claim. Also my husbands wages are sufficient to cover the mortgage if I was unable to work. The stupid thing is the policy is still running. Will this affect the claim? Should I just cancel the policy straight away? Sorry but not very money savvy-be gentle!!!
7. Sorry me again! Is there a template 'failure to comply' letter or do I just stick all the details down on my own letter or would it be worth a phone call to them? Many thanks again for your help.
8. Hi, Thanks for that, will give it a go. Seems a bit strange as that is the oldest loan!
9. Hi Dx, There was one other loan in 2001 and the others were after that. Looking back at my statements the one that they've provided me information with was an Abbey loan however the others were with the Alliance and Leicester-is this relevant? Many thanks for anymore advice.
10. Hi there, I finally received my SAR information back from Santander today however there is only information for 1 of the 5 loans that I enquired about. That loan (from 2001) showed that I did have PPI but what can I do about the others? The covering letter said that some historic records may have been destroyed due to time elapsed. Any advice greatly received:smile:
11. Thanks for the info. Should I get an 'official' questionnaire from Santander aswell as the letter template and spreadsheet as advised? Just enter the dates of the payments you have made, a description and the amount. Go to the fos website and download a consumer questionnaire and complete is. Send the completed questionnaire and a copy of the spreadsheet together with a brief letter requiring refund to the lender ims
12. Hi, Please can anyone advise me on the following- Back in 2000 my husband and I took out a mortgage with the Abbey national and as I was self employed we were told it was imperative that we took out their Paymentcare policy to cover my half of the mortgage if I was unable to work. At the time I was working less than 16 hours a week and in hindsight my husbands wages would have easily covered the mortgage if I couldn't work 12 years down the line, I am still paying £18 a month for this policy and the shocking thing is I didn't realise I still had it until I started looking at my bank statements - I know that's really bad!!! Do you think it would be worth looking into this further as the policy booklet states to be covered, the self employed must work for more than 16 hours a week and I still don't? Many thanks in advance for any help given.
