  1. Hi Frankyizzy, Im having same issues, I always take out coverplans. I have located agreements for the ones I purchased at currys, they are stapled to my receipts, but the coverplans I purchased at pcworld business centre are Not stapled to my recipts and nowhere to be seen. So I can only assume that they didnt provide them. Went to my local pc world store and the chap that sold the agreement still works there he told me i had a 48 hour call out, a loan laptop and replacement if not repaired after 3 weeks? Whateverhappens/coverplan say im not entitled to a loan laptop and repair is 6 weeks???? - Pc world business say thats rubbish they would not have sold a warranty under these terms to a business. Whateverhappens/coverplan provided me with what they claim are my old documents (no mention of loan laptop, 6 week repair time and 48 hour call out) - NO WONDER PC WORLD BUSINESS DONT HAND OUT THE T & CS IF THAT WAS WHAT THEY WERE SELLING AT THE TIME!!! So Im undecided is this a case of pcworld miss selling business coverplans to businesses? or breach of contract as the verbal agreement made with the sales adviser has been broken. when i booked my laptop for repair i was told by tech team as i was a premium policy holder my policy was upgraded to knowhow premium and it was 7 day repair turnaround + loan laptop, (no loan laptop available) laptop has been in for repair 15 days they say i was missinformed and my policy was not upgraded atall I now have a loan laptop as I have caused such a fuss with them but still without my own laptop back. THE NEW CONTRACT THEY EMAILED ME STATES For desktop PCs, printers and word processors If we can’t fix the problem over the phone, you can have a service call at your premises (not including Hewlett- Packard printers or printers under £100). The service call time will depend on parts being available. There is nothing on THE T & C that says they reserve the right to change the terms of the contract at any time but on the business terms of sale conditions I seen section 40 on the reverse of my receipt) 40: If either party wishes to make any changes to this agreement or the underlying terms of the contract for goods or services they must be agreed in writing by an authorized representative of each party. So basically anyone who had taken a policy before they re branded to knowhow for a desktop pc will have had the policy DOWNGRADED to no onsite repairs. I suggest you point this out to them and demand a loan laptop (I received my loan laptop the following day) and now I just need to find out if by them changing the contract terms for my desktops am i legally entitled to claim back all premiums paid as they breached their contract. hoping Paul from the know how team will clarify!
  2. Hi, Im not sure if this is posted in right place, I wondered if anyone could advise on a situation with PCWORLD . I am a very small business and I have coverplans from pcworld Im told Pc world have rebranded from techguys/whateverhappens to Knowhow. Terms of my contracts state: For desktop PCs, printers and word processors If we can’t fix the problem over the phone, you can have a service call at your premises (not including Hewlett- Packard printers or printers under £100). The service call time will depend on parts being available. There is no "we reserve the right to change contract terms at any time" stated on the contracts but they have now re branded to KNOWHOW and have DOWNGRADED my policy which no longer offers the call out service stated above as it was a business contract I have business terms printed on the back of my reciept and it says 40: If either party wishes to make any changes to this agreement or the underlying terms of the contract for goods or services they must be agreed in writing by an authorized representative of each party. They did not contact me to advise that they have re branded nor did they contact me with new terms of contract they simply just dont offer the onsite repairs anymore, Which I doubt anyone in my position are aware of until they have a fault with a product and have the unfortunate experience of dealing with them:-x. Am I legally entitled to claim back the full amount of premiums paid from the date I took out the policy as they have clearly changed the terms of contract? Thanks in advance
