  1. Hi and thank you Andy, I stupidly received and answered a telephone call from Very, the supporting evidence they are after is a doctors letter !

Yet again dx100uk I apologise for merging threads I did look for previous threads but wasn't able to find them, maybe one day I will be more computer friendly and not cause such problems

  2. Hi any help would be greatly appreciated,

    following advice from here,

I have a Payment plan with both of the above and have kept up to date,

I now have a letter asking for supporting documentation for my circumstances I'm not sure what this is ?

If I cant provide this the plan is canceled,

    any ideas

    Thank you in advance

  3. Hi all

A final update, last Friday I once again contacted Merrywood and like Jonathon, spoke to the same girl, who informed me that I was in a queue, I asked " how long is the Queue ? She responded that I wasn't the only person waiting on a refund, I then told her that I was contacting the FOS and this was the response , go ahead it gives us more time 8 weeks and you will end up waiting a lot longer. Here's what I did rang my bank and told them I wanted a charge back, I explained the situation plus added that I had had advice from FOS 5 minutes later I was told the money would be returned to my account before 6.00 pm that day and it was. But strangely enough today merrywood refunded the money also what do I do ?? Any advice would be welcome. Jonathon please do as I did Merrywood are hoping you will get fed up of there b---l s--t 💩 keep at them.

  4. Hi all,

At last I have the time to update my situation.

Firstly thank you for all the replies and help, without this I wouldn't have known where to begin.

So I have very good news.

    REFUNDS as follows:

    4/9 Money warehouse £27.31

    4/9 Smile £26.34

    5/9 Go Cheap Loans £64.99

    5/9 Loans Direct £69.75

    11/9 Enhance Finance £69.99

    12/9 Loans Plus More £69.99

The one that still hasn't issued a refund is Merrywood, I rang them today and the girl was strangely very polite, having told me last week that I would get it last Friday, (I didn't) she told me today, that she was sorry and to expect it later on this week as there is a long queue, so I will give them until Wednesday and ring if it doesn't turn up, I have to say I don't hold out much hope for this one though.

Finally( I am doing a drum-roll ) 17th September refund of £360 from Shopper Discounts and rewards, wow I did not think I would get the full amount and cant believe this went unnoticed, although the reason for this is before I fell into this debt situation, because I had money I stupidly didn't take a great deal of notice as to what was being taken from my account. Johnathon I told each company that I had contacted the FOS, I am more than sure this helped with faster refunds (excluding Merrywood) maybe its worth while ringing My Loans back and saying this to them and add that D/D have gone unpaid due to this, you may get it sooner that 10/10, good luck and let us no how things have turned out for you and like myself, lets make sure 100% that we don't fall into this trap again and ALWAYS read the small print

Thank you all once again for all the input and replies, I will update on the Merrywood saga soon

  5. Hi just to clear things up, I applied to the first company thinking instant cash and when the reply came back it was saying they would contact in 24/48 hours as this was no help I went to the next one and got the same response, I made a further 2 applications still blind to the fact theses companies were Brokers, within an hour I was bombarded with 100's of calls and text and at least 40 emails per day, the following day the money started coming out, at this point the penny finally dropped, what a total fool I had been

  6. Hi and thank you so much for the responses, the amount taken today was from Loan plus more, I have contacted them and have to put it in writing for a refund, a few of these companys have free post for these letters , I chose recorded delivery just to help matters, the refunds have been in full, they havent even taken the £5 suprisingly, I have rung Merrywood 3 times today and there not answering there phone and none of them found me a loan as I didnt proceed any further with the hundreds of leads that began hassling

me, I have also spoken to the bank ( Nat West) again today who are saying they cant help as I gave my details, ggggrrrrr I am so angry. I Live in Manchester but am currently considering a one way ticket to Timbucktoo :0)

seeing you lay things out like that Tawnyowl has made me realise how terrible theses companies are, I feel like I am coping quite well, due to the help and advice on here, but I feel desperation and sadness for others that arent so lucky to be getting support and help

    Kind regards

    Tricia xxx

  7. Hi and thank you for your reply's and encouragement.I am going to update my situation and ask for info regarding yet ANOTHER costly incident. Firstly as things stand:

    27/8 Loans Direct took £69.75

    27/8 My loan took £1.00

    28/8 My loan added £1.00

    29/8 Merrywood added £1.00

    29/8 Go Cheap took £64.99

    29/8 Money-warehouse took £27.31

    29/8 Merrywood took £1.00

    29/8 My loan took £69.99

    30/8 Merrywood took £69.95

    2/9 Smile finance took £26.34

    4/9 Money warehouse added £27.31

    4/9 Smile finance added £26.34

    5/9 Loans Direct added £69.95

9/9 go cheap loans added £64.99

10/9 I rang the bank today to be told that another company has taken £64.99, this hasn't shown up on my statement as yet, but has definitely gone from my account. I will update further when I no who this is.

Well I don't no where to start, following advice from here the 4 company's that have refunded me, have been very good I told them of this stupid situation I have got myself into and that my D/D had gone unpaid including my mortgage, gas and electricity and they more or less gave me immediate refunds, I am still waiting on My loans and Merrywood.

My loans have said I should have the refund by Friday, but Merry wood are a different ball game, I have rang several times, I think its the same girl that answers and gives different names, she is so rude.although she is saying I am in a queue for a refund, she will not give me confirmation via email or any other method, that I am actually getting one, today she told me not to ring again and has said that she has emailed me with confirmation ( she hasn't) anyway to cut a long story short I don't think I am going to get my refund, I am so angry and feel so stupid.

Whilst on this terrible journey, something else has come to light a company called Shoppers Discount and Rewards have been taking £10 pm from me, I had no idea this was happening, when I rang they told me whilst paying my Freemans Catalogue a popup appeared offering me £10 discount to which I clicked on, as of then I was a paying member, because I have never used this service they told me I could get 3 months money back £30 but when they told me I had been paying this from October 2010, I kicked up a terrible fuss and they have sent me a form to fill in to get the total amount £360 back, my question is has anybody had any dealings with them and is it likely that I will be refunded ?

    sorry for the ramble

In anticipation of any help that can be offered I am signing off

    Your sincerely

The most stupid, idiotic person on the face of the planet

  8. I feel this is another interesting thread brewing.

    Busy at the moment.

But looking forward to where this will go.

I will be back later to see latest developments.

tricia44 nice of you to put your story on.

    A beginning,a middle-where the end be-we will see.

What we can do,with the banks, the brokers for you.

Time to calm down and have a cup of tea.

Nothing stupid. Many people are being caught by their slick advertising and promises.

    And their constant emails,etc,etc,etc.

Money-Smile-And Merry-feel free to mention the others,if you want to.

I can hardly wait to get to grips with them.

Today i have been writing about the lenders and brokers and others.

I have to get out for a while.I am going for a walk along the shoreline.

To release the anger and frustrations i am feeling about them.

    And to calm down.

But will be back.I promise that.

Hi and thank you for your reassuring response, the other companies that have withdrawn money from my account are: Loans Direct Uk, My loans, Go cheap and money warehouse.

  9. Hi i have used this site on a few occasions and would appreciate any advice on the following mess.

At present I am on holiday and had a cash shortfall (as always) so I typed in payday loans and proceeded to fill in the required areas only to find I was passed from one company to another all with promise of immediate payment, to cut a long story short as of 27/8/13 I have been charged varying amounts from the following companies

    Money warehouse

    Smile

Merry wood loans and a couple more ranging from £27 to £69.99.

Having looked into this I realise these companies were brokers and these are membership fees, the original amount I needed was £300 well the amount taken out of my account this week has surpassed the £300, I have been reading on here re this so have done the following rang the bank, to no avail as they are saying its my own fault and I willingly gave my details, contacted each company requesting a refund on there Cancel policy although I feel things went to smoothly, I am being bombarded with up to 80 emails a day and 30 phone calls a day. So I have taken advice from here and transferred my remaining money into another account, which is to pay direct debits, yesterday I transferred £30 for a D/D only for Smile to take £28 of it , I have had to cancel a lot of the d/d as I wont have the money to pay them until I get the refunds that I am due, following the horrendous year I have had, this holiday payed for by my parents has turned into a living night mare, any advice would be greatly accepted and appreciated and I apologise sincerly for my total act of stupidity.

  10. Hi

Having had lots of advice regarding this, I am hoping for a bit more, I have received the following email and wondered exactly what to send as supporting documents, my situation has got worse ( see other post)

Thank you for recent payment on your Isme account.

Your account has been with the Specialist Support Team since 2.11.2012 during which time there has been no account interest or administration charges applied to the account. Unfortunately in order for us to continue assisting you with your account we do now require supporting documentation as to your current circumstances, as we have discussed with you previously. A pre paid envelope is enclosed for your convenience.

If you require any further information please call on 0844 822 4726 during the office hours shown above. If we do not hear from you within the next twenty eight days we will assume that you no longer require our assistance and that you are able to manage your finances and maintain payments in accordance with your account terms and conditions.

However, if you do still require any assistance, it is essential that you contact us, because in the event we do not hear from you, your account will be transferred back through our normal collections process where administration fees and interest may be applied

Information regarding your account will continue to be passed to Credit Reference Agencies and no further orders will be accepted until the account has been brought up to date.

Any help would graciously be received

    Many Thanks

  13. I have been using this site for some time now and have taken on board the fantastic advice given,

I have just applied for PPI repayment from the Halifax,

I recently posted the amount of debt we had and am in the process of fighting off Very and ISME again,

they are asking for financial proof and proof of my husbands stroke,

    which through reading on here,

I no I do not have to provide but was willing to do so,

    now here is an update.

In his infinite wisdom, my husband has decided that to enable him to have a full recovery from his stroke he should and has LEFT us.

I am devastated as are my two teenagers

last week I started a new job (although only 12 hours per week)

this enabled my husband to still have full-on care, so this was never an issue,

but now I am left HIGH and DRY and at a total loss as to what to do now,

I thought things couldn't have got worse following his stroke but little did I no,

if any one can advise I would be eternally great-full.

I feel like my ship has almost sunk and I am going down very quickly with it.

    My debts are as follows

    I have the following Accounts:

Credit Card Lloyds TSB outstanding £7161.05 in the hands of BLS reduced monthly payment £81.00

Current Account LLoyds Tsb outstanding overdraft £6409.34 in the hands of BLS reduced monthly payment £60.00

Current Account LLoyds Tsb outstanding overdraft £980.60 in the hands of Apex reduced monthly payment £25.00

Current Account LLoyds Tsb outstanding overdraft £2142.05 in the hands of BLS reduced monthly payment £25.00

Loan Account LLoyds TSB outstanding £10210.00 in the hands of Wescott reduced monthly payment £103

Nat west credit card outstanding £2414.09 £55.00 monthly refusing to lower the payments and freeze interest,

because I messed up my I/E form and charging me £12.00 every month for late payments.

Halifax Loan outstanding £7072 PPi Included reduced payments £50 in the hands of Blair Oliver and Scott, I have sent off SAR

Wonga PDL £553.00 due 28th October,

PPP in place £137 for 3 months

  14. Hi

I have at last received the required SAR info from the Halifax,

I have to say I'm totally confused and here is why.

We were told that we had to take PPI for them to allow us this loan, which we agreed to,

I think they have incorporated the PPI into the loan as I have gotten my latest statement

and although there is no mention of a monthly insurance,

each month I am being charged interest which I thought had been frozen due to reduced payments,

I'm not sure what to do at present and any help would be appreciated.

    Many Thanks Tricia

  15. email back stating quite clearly

that they are not legally entitled to see any of your personal financial details

should a judge order such, then you would ofcourse supply it.

    well done!!

    dx

Thank you and many thanks to this site for the advice I have received, which has given me the strength to deal with the problems that have been drowning me.

  16. Hi I have started the process of reducing my payments from £ 50 pcm to £25 pcm and following a couple of emails requesting me to ring them, I have received the following

Thank you for your recent offer of payments on your Shop Direct accounts.

I am pleased to inform you, your offer of £25.00 each month to both of your accounts has been accepted for an initial period of three months.

During this time we would appreciate if you could provide some supporting documentation in regards to your current circumstances. This will allow us to assist you in the best way possible and allow us to extend the arrangement for a longer term if you still require help after the initial three month period.

The first payments are to be received by 20th November 2012 and then subsequently by the 20th of each month for the length of the agreement.

In order to assist you with the running of your accounts, with effect from 2nd November 2012 we have suspended interest and late payment fees from being applied to your accounts.

Please be aware that if you have purchased items on Buy Now Pay Later, any interest that has accrued in the payment free period prior to the suspension, will still be charged to your accounts (unless you pay the full purchase price by the relevant due date pursuant to the terms and conditions of your accounts).

Information regarding your accounts will continue to be passed to Credit Reference Agencies and no further orders will be accepted until your accounts have been brought up to date.

If you have any further queries or concerns do not hesitate to contact me on the above number.

What does supporting Documentation mean ? is it the I/E ? for which I believe via this site that I don't have to show ( although I am willing if need be)

  17. cetainly the loans and credit cards yes i bet lots of £12 charges!!

    as for the bank accounts

if there are any BCOBS would be the route

lots of info below in my links

    dx

    thanks for the info,

I think my next move will be the SAR to nat west credit card, isme and very,

then I will look into the BCOBS,

    many thanks for your help,

    one more thing

can I offer the TSB less than im struggling to pay at the moment

( I thought the banks would have come under prioritys )

    sorry for all the questions.

  18. I have used Noddle

each account I have with Lloyd's TSB,

    1 x credit card

    2 x loan account

    2 x current accounts

has a default next to them,

which I find strange as I have never missed a payment,

initially I was with a DMC

I'm wondering if they missed or made late payments !
