  1. Hi, Yeah, I'll get it sorted but what's the significance of the address in this case? Thanks
  2. Hi all, Wondered if you could give me some advice. I was in Grahame Park in Hendon today and needed to pop to the Sainsbury's local store. There was a lay by to the side of the store which had cars parked in it already and I pulled in, was just about to get out of the car and a bloke walking past said "Don't park here mate, its a loading bay and they are taking pictures of the cars". I thanked him and got back in the car but as I was pulling out into the traffic, a woman appeared and took a picture of my car and the registration plate. I went back there later (without the car!) and fair enough, there are 4 signs up but they are at least 10ft in the air and the wording of them is tiny, there's no way anyone could read them without getting on top of them. They say the usual about agreeing to pay consideration in the form of a parking charge, £100 and £60 if paid within a time period etc. I must have only been there for about 3 minutes at the most and there was no ticket put on the car but what do you reckon I should do? To make matters more complicated I've only just moved and the car still registered to my old address! Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks
  3. Hi, Thanks for the messages. My wife sent in a FOS questionnaire but MBNA said they never received it. The reasons given were that MBNA strongly recommended the cover, it was not fully explained, and also the fact that she would have been able to cover any necessary payments from her own resources. When she called to chase this up, She was put through to someone on the phone who said they had not received the form and they then went through it on the phone with her. The letter says that this is the final decision and gives details of the Financial Ombudsman Service, Should we keep talking to MBNA or just got straight to them.
  4. Hi all, My wife has been trying to claim her PPI back from MBNA and has had a letter back from them along with a part copy of her original application saying that as she has ticked the "yes" box, It was her choice to take payment protection. It goes on to say that it was a non advised sale and as such, she is not entitled to any refund of the premiums paid. Is there anywhere else we can go with this? Many thanks.
  5. Cheers for all the advice, will make a request and see what happens, May be asking you all for more help soon! On another (help seeking!) note, My wife has been trying to claim her PPI back from MBNA and has had a letter back from them along with a part copy of her original application saying that as she has ticked the "yes" box, It was her choice to take payment protection. It goes on to say that it was a non advised sale and as such, she is not entitled to any refund of the premiums paid. is there anywhere else we can go with this? Many thanks.
  6. Thanks for that, Good to know. My credit cards were all taken out prior to 2007 so will do a CCA request and see what comes back. What is a SAR? Would Ii be right in thinking that if they came back without a proper agreement they might be more interested in settling the account for a reduced amount?
  7. Sorry only posting now, Only just realised there was a reply from earlier! Dont think so but what do you mean by a discount letter? Thanks
  8. Thnaks for the post, I don't really know what I'm doing with this! I've claimed back PPI and penalty charges, I just stumbled across stuff on here and people seemed to be contesting the amounts they owed because terms and conditions were never completed properly. Is that me done then?!
  9. Thanks for the reply, All the credit cards are recorded on my credit files with equifax/experian etc. Does this make a difference to what i should do from here? Many thanks
  10. Hi, Am new on here and have been reading the comments. I have a number of credit cards, 2 that have been taken out since 1992 (Barclaycard, balances of £260 and £1350) and one that was taken out before 2007 but which has been transferred from company to company (Citi, sold on to ???? and sold on again to ???? I think!, Balance of £3400) From reading stuff on here I think its unlikely that applications and subsequent legal paperwork were completed correctly. I am thinking about asking for a CCA request but how do I go about it and what happens then? What should be my ultimate aim from this? If they don't have the right paperwork can i get the amounts written off or be able to make a lower offer to the credit card companies in full and final settlement? All help would be much appreciated! Many thanks
