  1. Unfortunatly i have to report that we have had no joy with our Carpetright carpet problem. As far as Carpetright are concerned there is no fault with the carpet. But if you had paid well over a £1000 to have your 2 bed bungalow carpeted throughout, and within 4 months you can sit on the sofa and see darker patches in the carpet where regularly walked on, like footpaths through a grassy field, you may feel there IS a fault. If you have guests round they say the carpet looks worn or needs a clean. Certainly not a supposed hard wearing new carpet! As far as Carpetright are concerned this is quite normal and to be expected in carpets they sell. Moral of the story? I would suggest if you want a carpet that looks as good as the day it was laid for any period of time, however short, then other carpet suppliers may be more suited to supplying your needs.
  2. Thank you for your reply. There was obviously some mis communication between Ms Abbott store manager of Redhill branch, Mr Roger Nash, who was then sent to visit my parents property to inspect the reported problem, and what was reported to your customer service dept as to what the original complaint and problem was. I would suggest that as a Carpetright employee that has inspected the carpet you speak with Mr Roger Nash as to what his evaluation of the problem is, as he agreed verbally while at the premises that there were visble signs of wear. Both visible and to the touch while he was on his hands and knees. A letter was sent by registered post to your customer services dept today and my parents look forward to a satisfactory response. I really dont think sending you photos will be of any use but if you would like to arrange for further inspection of the faulty carpet im sure my parents will be happy to oblige. Thank you again for your communication.
  3. Advice sought please. My parents bought new carpet fitted throughout their bungalow from CarpetRight in Redhill in Surrey. Within 4 months of fitting the carpet is showing signs of wear, visible and to the touch. There is only the 2 of them, both in their 70s and have both had hip replacement ops so not very mobile about the house. Obviously this is not right, carpet shouldnt wear as this has. They have complained to Redhill branch who sent out someone out to examine. He agreed that the carpet was showing signs of wear and would report to Head Office. A letter has been received from CarpetRight customer service dept Ref 414368 . It talks about shedding of loose fibre in carpets being normal, but surely not to the point where it is showing signs of wear in 4 months. I feel that they have grounds for replacement/compensation as the carpet is obviouisly poor quality, not fit for purpose and hasnt lasted a reasonable length of time. Other than going back and forth round the houses and being fobbed off with CarpetRight Customer Services can anyone suggest what course of action should be taken? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.
