I think you will find Blemain will not send you the underwriting sheet with the SAR. I was in a similar situation and had to make a court application. The sent me the sheet one day before the hearing. I am presently in litigation with Blemain over non return of PPI and I know I will win the case. How sure are you that the money was given to Direct Group. As far as I know Direct Group only act as administrators. Ask for the underwriting sheet

Just to keep you updated. I have sued Blemain Finance for not returning the PPI when I requested a refund. There is a case management hearing on the 23rd September 2013 -

I am in a battle with Blemain and I am taking them to Court. The first thing I think you should do is request a SAR. I would not be at all supprised if your loan was irresponsible lending in the first place

Do request a SAR, make sure you also receive the application form and income and affordability document you would have signed. The underwriting sheet would be useful as well. I am presently in litigation with Blemain, and know I will win my case.
