  1. Hi. I have been advised to try and contact you in order to get your valuable advice by another group member. He actually suggested I press the black triangle to alert the site bosses but my fantastic work have blocked that option for me I'm afraid so trying this on the off chance.I am referring to my current listing where I have just checked my credit report and noticed that two of the debts I'm currently paying for aren't listed on there so I am wondering whether the debt still exists and whether I'm just paying for nothing (and have been for a number of years!).I would be extremely grateful if you could possibly look at my other post and see if you might be able to offer me any advice please. Many thanks, Caroline
  2. Thank you, you've been a big help! Should I do a new post aimed at them or will they see this as you put their names on here? Sorry, I'm totally new and don't know quite how this all works yet!!! Thank you again for all your help
  3. So I've just checked my credit report and there are a few lenders who aren't even showing on it?? ARC (the gym one) and Go Debt (Yes Car Credit), the ones I think are particularly dodgy, aren't on there at all! They aren't there under closed or open accounts. Does this mean the debt is finished and I'm paying these people for nothing??
  4. No, I've never heard of Noddle but I've just Googled them and I will give them a try! Thank you!
  5. I know, I have been trying to check my credit file but because I've had 'free trials' from them all in the past I cannot seem to view it without spending £15 (which I haven't got). I will check again today and see if there is any way I can get on to it. I have also just tried to do the PPI reclaiming from a couple of loans I have had in the past but I'm not having much luck because they were a LONG time ago (about 12yrs!). Thank you, really really appreciated any comments, suggestions and advice. Caroline
  6. Hi, thank you for the reply. I apologise for my ignorance but I'm unsure what a statement of affairs would entail? Do you mean my income and expenditure etc?I used to have a debt management plan with CCCS but they stopped it because they said I didn't earn enough to cover all of the debts and have enough money to live on! So not really sure where I could go from there! Caroline
  7. Hi. Firstly, thanks to anyone reading this who could potentially offer me some advice!Right, so I am in ridiculous amounts of debt and literally cannot see any way out of it at the moment. I owe so many different creditors and because I'm paying such small monthly amounts, it is never going away BUT I cannot pay anymore because I'm leaving myself short each month as it is and therefore ending up getting in more debt with people such as Provident and Wonga just to get me through the month! My list of debts are as below: Natwest (prior overdraft) - £6,000 (estimated). Pay £26.09 a month Provident - £1,080. Pay £93 a month, am not in default with this Fashion World (JD Williams) - £1,500. Pay £40 a month Vertbaudet - £1,000 (estimated). Pay £40 a month Vanquis - £580. Pay £16 per month ARC (Next Generation Gym now David Lloyd) - £980 (estimated). Pay £5 a month (this is a debt from 5yrs ago which they won't clear even though I wasn't allowed access to the gym after the first two months!) Go Debt - £3,000 (estimated). Pay £30 per month (this is for a car from Yes Car Credit that I have repossesed after a year's payments and they sold the car on but I'm still paying for it even though they got their money back) Very.co.uk - £600. Pay £40 per month, am not in default with this Capital One - £190. Pay £10 per month, am not in default with this The ARC (Next Gen/David Lloyd) debt is extremely unfair I feel as my partner and I joined the gym, had the membership for two months and we split up. I could not afford to pay the massive monthly fee alone so called them to explain we had broken up but they immediately ended my account and sent the debt to a debt collectors and so two months of gym visits are going to end up costing me over £1,000. They still address the letters to myself and my ex partner which I have repeatedly asked them not to but they just don't listen! The Go Debt one (Yes Car Credit) is ridiculous. I paid for over a year and they then repossesed the car immediately when I lost my job, sold the car on and despite all of that money being paid, they still enforced the debt and sold it on.Does anyone have any advice for me? I'm just paying what I can, I have no knowledge of any way to make this easier, more manageable but I'm sure that at least the above two debts shouldn't legally and morally be fair? I just don't know where to start! Any help would be really REALLY appreciated! (By the way, I am sure it doesn't matter but I would like to just tell you about myself slightly, I'm 30yrs old, a single mother to a six year old and have been since she was 9 months old, have a full time job in London and rent a house privately. I do not recieve any benefits/childcare etc. Just thought I would mention it in case it had any importance). Please help! I am even considering thinks like bankruptcy as I can't stand trying to survive on pennies a week when I do earn a reasonable salary and should be able to buy a week's groceries without worrying! Thanks,Caroline sorry for lack of paragraphs, I have tried but for some reason I cannot get them in there!!!!
  8. Hi all. I'm very new to this so please forgive me if I've missed anything of importance! I purchased a car from Welcome about 4yrs ago and finally finished paying it off in August (£9,600 for a 2004 Fiat Punto, bargain.....NOT!).When I purchased the car I did not take out the PPI as I knew from similar experiences that it wasn't worth the paper it was written on. I was threatened that I wouldn't be able to get the car if i didn't take it but i stuck to my guns and pretended to walk off whereupon they came back to me and said they would 'work something out'. This happened to be that I was lucky enough that they would accept me even without the PPI but that I would still obviously have to pay for the compulsory MBI and Shortfall Insurance. I thought I'd won the war so didn't question that they were 'compulsory' and to be honest, it seemed like a small amount of money compared to what I would finally pay! But now I've been told by several people that I was mis-sold these additional insurances. Is this correct? Can I claim back for them, even if I don't have a PPI claim?? Is there a template for this? I just called Welcome to clarify how much I had paid for these two insurances and it comes to £850 which is a huge amount of money to me so would definitely like to claim back if I can. Incidentally, the staff member was disgustingly rude and shouted at me that I was jumping on the 'insurance bandwagon' which I thought was great customer service......!!! Many thanks in advance for any help or templates that you may be able to share with me.
